Chapter 44: Chapter 44

I woke up feeling hungry. It was telling me to eat something.

Last night, I skipped dinner, so this was it.

As fast as possible I ran to the bathroom and prepared myself. I wore jeans with a simple white shirt.

Finished tying my hair, I ran out of the room and headed downstairs.

I smelled someone was cooking something like, fried rice? I headed to the source of it. Kitchen.

I kept walking, looking through the empty hallway until I reached the kitchen.

Haytham was cooking, his back to me. He was topless, making me saw his back, which was muscular and covered in tattoos.

"Don't just stand there, if you're hungry come here." I swallowed hard and approached the dining area which was right behind him.

"Checking me out?" He asked as he poured the roast chicken on my plate.

It wasn't fried rice.

I felt my cheeks flushed. Damn, why the hell my old feelings slowly started to return.

"You're delirious, I see." I took the spoon and fork. Unconsciously, he bent his body towards me, making me shocked when noticing how close our faces.

"You're so cute when you were surprised... principessa." Gosh, my eyes were so sinful. I couldn't help but look at his hairy chest.

"Wait, what?" What did he just call me ?! "No one can call me that other than-"

"Barra." He finished my sentence, "By the way, my eyes up here, bae." His voice sounded so heavy.

My cheeks reddened. I turned my gaze to my food and ate it right away. "Shit, it's hot." I felt my tongue burning.

He chuckled, giving me a glass of water, "You don't need to be shy to admit that you want me." He whispered right near my ear, making me tremble to the spine. His breath was on my neck, getting closer, closer, until ... "I want to eat." I moved my body away from him.

He smiled proudly that he had managed to make me tremble.

Alia came to the room and yawned. "I'm so hungryyyyy." She said, a little singing. "Hungryyy."

"Come here." I watched them like a family. Talking about nothing but still laughing. It was like when we were together.

"It tastes so freaking good." Alia exclaimed, making Haytham smiled at her.

"What do you think, princess?" He leaned his head against his bent arm on the table.

"Delicious."

"Just delicious? I bet your lover never made food this good."

"You're so wrong honey." My eyes mocked him.

"Lovesick girl." He commented.

Later that day, I didn't do anything. Alia was busy studying and Haytham was out on his business.

Pretty good situation.

What should I do in a mansion this wide?

All day long I really didn't do anything and of course until an idea popped up in my mind. Ang again, Of course, my ideas were never good one.

I would tell one of the guard that I wanted to go shopping even though my plan was to meet Elsa.

Just when the idea came up, I immediately ran and took my jacket. I went to the main room and then met one of the guards.

"Hey, Haytham said one of you will be my guard wherever I go, can you take me to um-" I didn't know how to meet Elsa. My phone was not with me and there was no other way to get into the mansion of the Ainsley family.

"Yes miss? Where do you want to go?" He asked again to my unfinished question.

"Oh yeah, sorry." I thought again with my body slowly jumping up and down, thinking so hard what to say, "Umm-"

"Yeah?"

"I'm going shopping. Right now!" With that I came out ahead of him. Until outside I felt an oddity.

"Whose car is that?" I asked when I found a car I didn't recognize.

"Maybe the boss bought a new car, I don't know."

I nodded slightly uneasily thinking about how to escape.

The window's car slowly opened. My eyes sharpened when I found a man wearing his dark glasses pointing right at me.

He opened the door and went out. His hair was covered by his black hat so I didn't realize it was Jake at first.

I almost laughed when he lied to one of the guards. He always came around the time when I needed his help the most.

"This is crazy how can you always be by my side whenever i need you." I cheered cheerfully when I got into his car and finally ran away from the guards who just believed his lie.

Jake chuckled still in his odd style.

"What kind of style are you in, man?" I asked while pulling out his sunglasses and then wearing them on me.

"New day, new me."

I rolled my eyes, "It's new year, new me dummy."

He chuckled, "Actually, I'm trying to bring you back."

Hearing his words, I immediately shook my head. Finally with a heavy feeling I explained everything from the beginning to him. My story turned out to take almost an hour more.

We stopped at the side of the road. I looked at Jake's face, who didn't know what to explain anymore because he was just silent.

"So you're telling me you're not the real Jazzlin but your body is?" He looked at me like I was crazy.

"Yes."

"And you've been the source of all the fighting between the Ainsleys and the Sanders?"

"You can say that."

He shook his head then patted his forehead, "Bro, this is messed up more than I imagined before."

"It is." I admitted.

"Oh my God, I thought I was getting along with Jazzlin but what I found was a fake one."

I laughed seeing his funny expression.

"But it's okay, I like your attitude Janielle. You did a lot of things Jazzlin never did before." He smiled, "So, where are you heading?"

"ELSA!" I yelled making he closed his ears.

"Okay, I will take you there without Barra knowing."

On the journey I suddenly asked, "Did Barra ask you something about me? I mean after you and Ronald came and tried to take me."

Jake fell silent. I was sure he heard me, my voice was so loud.

"I'm sorry Janielle, oh no, Jazzlin. But, yesterday it wasn't his request. He's changed since what happened."

I looked everywhere but him.

"He didn't even asking about you in the slightest. We were coming to Haytham's mansion yesterday of our own accord." He gulped, "He's in deep shit."

"And it's because of me." I continued speaking.

"No, it's not you, but it's the way it is." He tried to make me calmer, but I was ready to explode.

"What do you think he would do if he found out that I have the next secret?"

Jake snorted, "I honestly don't know what he's going to do when he finds out about your reborn. It's just... too much."

"He'll hate me more." I said full of my broken feelings inside.

"Trust me, he can't. He loves Jazzlin so freaking much. I knew it from the start. She's always be his weakness."

"It sounds so cute, but I'm not her. Physically yes but, spirit... I'm not."

We continued our journey, trying to forget the original conversation. Jake seemed to understand my feelings. I felt disappointed, tired, heartbroken when I heard all that. I could only hope that good days would come.

I believe good days would always have their way to me. They always have.

We stopped right at the mansion that I knew very well. The place where he and I were together.

I turned to look at Jake. The man was now silent, still in the same position.

"Is Barra in there?"

Jake shook his head, "He busied himself outside the house. I guess what you did, I mean the real Jazzlin did really mess up his mind."

My gaze turned back towards the mansion, "Can I go in to meet Elsa?"

"Of course." He got out of the car and opened my car door.

We walked in together. My feelings rushed when I entered that place again. I missed everything that happened here.

Memories of the first time I arrived at the mansion still stucked in my head. Everything was still clearly remembered in my shadows.

How Barra carried me when we entered the jet, and also how he prepared my food, held my hand and calmed me in my every fear.

And it all killed me slowly realizing he was really leaving me. I could no longer feel the warmth of his embrace, the arrogance and nosiness of him when the first time I was reborn.

When he pissed me off with his every ignorance, I knew I would fall for him very soon, but I was too embarrassed to admit it.

"Elsa is in the backyard with Ronald." Jake told me after he asked one of the guards.

I nodded and immediately headed to the place he said. The garden also reminded me when for the first time, I inhaled its scent. It was still feel so good.

My eyes continued to stare around me, the mansion still fascinated me even though I had lived there for a long time. The cool air accompanied by a gentle breeze made all my pores open.

Two silhouettes appeared in front of me accompanied by small giggles between a woman and a man. There Elsa and Ronald were chatting. They always seem to get along somehow.

What a great match.

"Well, hello there." Ronald, who was the first to notice my presence, immediately greeted me.
