Armano didn't say anything after Max tell him the whole story about the rebellion of nobles faction.

Actually, he knew that the faction is planning something. But, never crossed in his mind that they will do such a nasty plan.

They were talking in Duke's study room. Cecilia isn't awake yet. But, several maids already guarded her.

Max slowly drank his red wine. "I heard everything about Cadia. Too bad, honestly, I'm rooting for your slow burn plan."

Armano's gray eyes fixed on him." It was her idea. The one who found the cure of that pandemic was my daughter."

"She is wonderful person, isn't she?"

"May I ask about your relationship with her?"

The young man smiling and out his empty glass on the table, "Like I said, she is my destiny. We already passed the dragon's trial, too."

The Duke's forehead wrinkled. His brother's warning was right.

"Did you know what she said when I asked about her resignation from the election? She wants to be the successor of this family and refused to marry anyone."

Instead of irritated, Max look calm and laugh lightly, "I see. The situation has changed. A lot."

Duke didn't answer right away. He felt that Cecilia's confession was because of that young man.

She must be love him, he thought. So much, until make her feeling uncomfortable to deceived him.

"Did you tell His Imperial Majesty about this?"

"I will tell him at the ball." Max said in calm voice.

"Why don't you tell him sooner? If the Silver's stripped down from the election, then Cecilia will become the crown princess,"

"Nope. That old man has a plan. Rest assured, Cecilia will free from that stupid election."

"Then, I have nothing to say, Your Highness."

Max smile cunningly, "My, My. I heard something interesting. About the restoration of that frozen land."

"As expected from the leader of Scorpion's guild. Nothing escaped from your ears." Duke Lancia let out a heavy sigh.

"Heee, so you know my identity? Did Marquess Hagrav said something?" His curiosity piqued, since only several people know the truth. Even the crown prince didn't know about it.

"I know you for a long time, Your Highness. A stupid mask can't conceal the truth. What I don't know was you are the guardian. If I remembered correctly, the boring man who look like cat was the one I hired for my daughter."

Max laughed again, "Ah, you've got me. To make this up, I will give you special discount."

"Even though, I'll become your father-in-law?"

Armano look so serious when saying those things. Meanwhile, Max, stunned and found no word to say.

"Why did you look so surprised? I've no other choice, since you bound with the dragon's blessing. However, I have one condition."

"Condition? What is this?"

"She has to finish the quest of frozen land and the preparation for becoming Lancia's successor. Until then, you can't marry her."

Max rolled his eyes, "It was two conditions."

"Three years is not a long time."

"Don't joke around, Duke. Both of us know, that's impossible. Three years is the fastest possibilities for a woman who want to be the successor!"

The woman successor is a rare case on this Empire. It's not impossible to be one. They need to pass every condition and through so much troublesome exams, more than men can do.

That's why, on this century, only thirty women who succeeded to become the successor. The average time to complete the test was five years.

For some reason, Armano look satisfied. "That's better."

Someone knocked the door for three times and a familiar heavy voice can be heard from behind of it, "Your Excellency, Young Miss is awake."

"Call the doctor, Albert. I will be on my way." Duke said after he rose from his seat.

"I understand. Please excuse me."

Max followed the owner of the house, "Ah, finally! I'm relieved that she is okay."

Armano stopped his movement, "After this, can you tell the Lancia's knights in the South Island to come back to the Capital?"

"My, you are so cold, Duke. How could you bring your daughter and left without saying goodbye?"

The gray eyed man staring at him for a moment with unreadable expression, "That's not your concern, Crow Masked Man."
