Chapter 73: Chapter 73

"What's happened?" Cecilia threw her gaze to that messy room.

The paper scattered everywhere, fallen bookshelves, cupboard left opened.

Theo, who guarded the door, telling her the chronologized story. "Baron entered the room when heard noises. He said that there is a masked thief searching something in the cupboard. He was shocked when the thief tried to hurt him.

Baron screamed asking help, but the thief already flee when I came. Baron's condition is okay. I already called the doctor, too. So, you don't have to worry."

"Have you called the police?" Cecilia walked to the broken window. The glass shattered in the yard outside the office.

Theo followed her behind, "Miss, there is no police here. They don't need it since this is a peaceful island."

"Then, we should creatr one. Where did you go when it happened?"

"I'm guarding on the entrance, and I was the first one who found Baron. He was passed out while his left hand bleeding so much."

Cecilia eyes fixed on the glass pieces before she's examining her surrounding.

There's something wrong in this place, she thought. To think that something like this happened before the launching date. It's like a bad omen.

"Where did you find him?"

"In the middle of this room. I already cleaned the blood stain. It's horrible to watch."

"Is there something missing?" Her eyebrow narrowed when notice a ring with ruby stone on the cupboard. She thought it was odd. If this is a robbery, why don't they take it?

"I don't know, Miss. We should wait for Baron to wake up."

"Theo, don't touch anything in this room and guard the entrance. I want to see Baron for a bit."

The knight bowed slightly, "I understand, Young Miss."

When she left the room, Mary was waiting for her. Her brown eyes teary, but she is really glad because Cecilia still maintained her calmness.  "Young Miss!"

"Mary, I want to see the Baron."

"I will escort you!"

But, Cecilia shook her head in refusal, "Please wait for the doctor and escort him to the Baron's room."

"Ah, but…"

"Don't worry. I'm counting on you." She said before left.

There are only two servants on this household. Rather than servant, Baron treat them like a family.

That's why when Cecilia enters the room, she saw those servants cleaning the wounded arm with sad eyes.

A straight red line crossed on the arm and the bleeding didn't stop.

Baron still unconscious. His face pale with blue lips make him look like a corpse.

"This is the room, Doctor!" Mary's panicked voice can be heard from the corridor. Following with noises created from their footsteps.

The servants let out a relieved sigh when saw a middle-aged man with round glasses. His forehead wet because of the sweat, and he still wears a blue stripes pajamas.

"Please, excuse me!" He said while put his bag to the nightstand beside the bed.

The servants took a step back to let the doctor examining the patient.

"Will My Lord be okay?" Asked one of the servants.

"Don't worry. It's not a deep wound." He said while put some alcohol to it. After he bandaged it, the doctor touch Baron's chest with a stethoscope. "His heartbeat rate is normal. Baron will be awake in the short time."

"Thank you, Doctor." Said the servants with happy smile.

"It should be okay for now. But, if something happened, please tell me." The doctor said after he packed his belonging back to the bag.

"About the paym--," Cecilia can't continue her word.

Because he shook his head and said. "No need, Young Miss. It's just a small treatment. Rather than that, I want to know the detail about the case. Is it true that someone attacked him? I mean, why? Baron is a lovable person. No one want to hurt him. It's just impossible!"

"Actually, I didn't really know about it. Perhaps Mary, my personal maid, can tell you. Or Baron's servant, Miss Silva and Miss Green, will be glad to be to your assistance."

The Doctor nodded, "Then, we should leave this room. So, Baron can rest well."

"I will stay for a while. Miss Silva and Miss Green can go back to their room. You too, Mary." Cecilia said after she sits on a chair near the bed. Beside her, there is a jug of water and several glasses on the table.

Silva, the older servant than Green, seem discomfort about it. "Young Miss, what if Baron awake and need anything?"

"I will take care of this. Don't worry."

There is something strange in her voice that make them can't refuse Cecilia's demand.

Mary bit her lip when she noticed slight anger on her employer eyes for a second. It's like she isn't herself.

No, to be exact, she is almost like her old self.

Mary nodded and left the room. Followed by everyone else.

Cecilia waiting so patiently while sitting in the chair. She crossed her arms and so many things clouded on her mind.

Shattered glass…

Ruby ring…

Messy room…

"Ouch." Baron finally awake after ten minutes. He's holding his head as he's struggling to move.

Cecilia quickly approach to help him sit on the bed. "Please, don't move recklessly."

"Oh, Young Miss! You, you are here?!"

"Did you need this ?" Cecilia said while pouring a glass of water and gave it to him.

Baron nodded and receive it with gratitude. He drank it before gave his empty glass to that purple eyed girl. "Thank you, Young Miss. I'm sorry for everything. I ju--,"

"Just tell me what happened." Cecilia's cold words abruptly cut his.

"Ah, yes, Young Miss." Baron flinched when noticed her strange gaze. "I was walking in corridor when I heard noises on my study room and when I opened the door, the thief already messing up the room.

I can't see the face. But, he must be a man because he was taller and more muscular than me. Wear all black with mask, too.

He attacked me and flee through the broken windows when I scream ask the help. Sir Theo's face was the last thing I saw before passed out."

"What did he take?"

Baron looked down. Found no courage to look her eyes. "He took a brown envelope. It was the future plan you made for this island."

"Okay."

Baron shocked when he saw her teary eyes. He quickly bowed to him."Yo-young Miss. Please forgive me for my weakness! I'm terribly sorry for what happened!"

"Why, Baron? I thought we are on the same ship." Cecilia try her best to not trembled.

"Yo, young Miss? I do-don't understand abo--,"

Cecilia's right hand cover her forehead. "Me too. I don't understand why did you lie and betraying me. You are not the victim, Baron. But, the culprit."
