Hugo knew that there must be something wrong with his boss.

He lacks focused and sometime, laugh by himself.

Maybe, he already lost his insanity, he thought to himself.

But, what make him look weirder was he didn't go out for several days and staring the windows.

"I thought you will be stalking Miss Lancia." Hugo said while Max reading the same page of a law's book for two hours.

"Watch your word, Hugo. I am not a stalker."

"So, you lost interest of her? Just like usual?"

Max crossed her leg and closed his book, "Why did you talk like that? I'm a faithful man who only devoted with one woman for the rest of my life."

Hugo rolled his eyes and starting to make another report since Max refused to do it. "You always seduce every woman clients."

"What? I'm never doing that! It's a part of the courtesy!"

The truth is Max haven't experienced his first kiss. Not to mention, he's still a virgin.

But, his cool yet playful character made people misunderstand. Including Hugo.

"Yes, yes. I will never understand about the courtesy of nobles. But, I thought you were already fallen to her."

A proud smile escaped from his lips. "Indeed. She is cute, smart, and kind woman. In other words, she is the manifestation of perfection."

Hugo put down his pen and cleared his throat. "First of all, I want to apologize about my rudeness. But, please don't hurt her, Boss. I owe her my life. It's not just because she saved my life.

But, she saved the future of the orphans or the commoner. Even if it's you, I won't hold back."

"Do you like her?" A dark aura enveloped Max's body.

Hugo gulped his nervousness.

Truly, Max look dangerous right now. But, he can't just stay quiet about it. "You can call me as her admirer, Boss. It's different from love.

But, I really respect and want to protect her with all my power."

Max's eyes darkened. It's the first time, Hugo talking, no, threaten him like this. However, his action is understandable.

Hugo, who lived in orphanage, already experienced so many things which worse than death. Starvation, abusing, and poverty.

He used to hate noble who only think about their own business.

The reason why he agreed to join this guild, aside than the salary because he wants to exploit the rotten world of nobility.

He was gathering so much information and by keep their weakness in his hand, he feels superior to them.

The first time he met Cecilia, Hugo only thought that it's her acting to fixed her problematic image.

But, the more he knows her, Hugo feel blessed because of her kindness.

It's started by her resignation from the election, following with her ideas to create a comfortable life for everyone, including commoners.

She really wanted to help the poor and didn't even think about profit.

If only he can pledge a royalty oath to her, then he will whole-heartedly do it. Now, all he can do is dedicate his life as her underling.

Even though, it means that he will lose his job in Scorpion.

"I know, Hugo. Then, I'll allow you to kill myself, if I hurt her. Besides, I don't want to lose a competent underling."

Hugo's eyes fixated on his boss. A solid determination and honesty were written in Max's eyes. He took his pen and start writing. "I'm glad you understand, Boss."

Max throw his gaze to the sky and start to missing his fiancé. But, he can't go since Cecilia specially asked him to come on the launching day because she can't focus with his presence.

"Do you think me as your burden?" He murmured.

But, Hugo can hear him."Rather than burden, you are just annoying."

Max rolled his eyes, "I'm not talking to you, Hugo. Oh, by the way, did they finish my clothes?"

"Yes. It's still on the way here."

"Hmm. Then, I will go out for a minute. Bye."

Max vanished before Hugo can't answer.

"I hope everything is going to be okay." Cecilia said while she and Baron visiting the inn.

Tomorrow is the big day, and she already anticipated about this.

"Yes, Young Miss. Honestly, I'm feeling anxious. Even some citizen of this Island still afraid with the magic which enveloped this place."

Cecilia let out a heavy sigh, "I know. But, I think people will come because of the pamphlet, remember? For the first fifty people. We should focus on that."

"Yes, Young Miss. I will tell to the worker. And I've something to report. Your pesticide and fertilizer already show it effectiveness. The crops get a better quality than it used to be."

"Ah, I'm glad!" She said with a wide smile. "Baron, perhaps you already heard this from Mary. I think I will go back to the Capital for the meantime. Please send me a letter if something happened."

"I understand. Once again, I want to thank you about your help. This island became more advanced under your supervision."

"Baron, you shouldn't thank me. This is because of our hard work along with all the citizen. This island is still developing. It's too early to celebrate."

Baron threw his gaze to the Inn. Never in his dream, he will see this chance. A barren land which change into tourism object.

Surely, he asked Kaleela's help to make the land became more fertilizing.

Actually, he and his people feeling a bit afraid with that red-headed witch. Kaleela look like a villain who eat human as her snack.

Then, Cecilia came with her compassion and imaginative ideas, turned this island became better.

And somehow, after her arrival, Kaleela vanished. As if, Cecilia cast her away. Not just Baron, but all the citizens were thrilled about it.

Even though, he knows that magic bring nothing but misery, he wants to believe with Cecilia's perspective.

It's almost three months since her arrival and she can make a big difference on this gloomy island.

For Baron, Cecilia must be a greater witch than Kaleela.

"Anyway, Baron. Is there something happened? You look thinner than the last time we met."

"Is that so? Ah, perhaps because I was too focused about this project."

Cecilia take something from the purse and give him a small glass bottle contain several capsules.

"Then, please take this, Baron. It's a dried herbals supplement from Hagrav. They said it's good to relieve fatigue."

"Thank you, Young Miss."

"Don't worry, Baron. Everything will be okay."

He's staring at the bottle and feeling grateful because Cecilia didn't say anything bad about Havana.

Baron knew that his daughter was 'stealing' her clothes by forging a letter, and he felt embarrassed about Havana's childish trait who ran away to an unknown city filled with stranger.

"Honestly, I feel like I was failed to be a good father."

"As a human, we often make mistakes because we didn't know about the futures. But, it's okay, Baron. We can't live the fullest if we didn't learn anything.

So, don't blame yourself too much. We just have to do the best thing we can and believe that our hard work will pay off."

Baron staring at the girl who looks much wiser than her age. It's seemed as if Cecilia already through so many bad things.

"You are right, Young Miss." He said while holding the bottle tightly.

Really, she is a goddess who sent from above, he said to himself.
