Kaleela found herself trapped in Grant's arms. The sun rays escaped from the curtain and almost blinding her.

"Are you awake?" Grant's hoarse voice make that red haired woman turned her head and facing his face. "Good morning."

Kaleela blushed. Found no courage to directly saw his gray eyes, she's hiding half of her face under the blanket. "Hmm, yeah."

Grant smiled and kiss her forehead lightly. "If this was a dream, I prefer not to wake up."

Kaleela tried to remember what really happened last night. It started by a silly argument in the living room before they end up in the bedroom.

She didn't even remember what were they arguing about. It was Grant who kissed her first.

But, what makes her surprised was she responded to it. As if her body moved by itself. She doesn't know why she can fall to his embrace.

Is this a magic spell?

Love potion?

Or a lust which resulted by her yearning desire of Grant that secretly sealed on her heart for a long time?

The kisses going deeper and Kaleela didn't care anymore. Last night, she chose to give up from her runaways.

Then, the rest is become history.

"Kaleela? Is there something happened?" His eyes look worried when asking that question. She watches his face carefully. His messed short black hair, dark long lashes, and fuller lips. I guess it's not a bad thing to see his face in every morning, she thought.

"Kaleela? You look so pale. Did I… Did I hurt you?" Now, Grant speaks in a very gentle tone. They were doing it all night and stopped when the dawn comes.

Not to mention, it was her first time for doing this.

She shook her head. Rather than hurt, she found it as enjoyable activities. But, this come into a big consequence.

Now, she can't summon Gold or any other powerful familiars. Her magic power seems decreased by half. "I'm just thinking."

As if he can read her mind, Grant asked with a faint smile, "Did you regret it?"

"Honestly, I don't know."

Grant hugged her tightly. "Can you stay by my side? Let just forget our previous bet and start a new life together."

Kaleela want to nod. But, she can't. "You know it's not easy. I am cursed. No matter what you do, misfortune will follow."

Grant put his chin on her head. Kaleela isn't a human. She might look like one, but she was born from dragon stone. To be more precise, she was born by Hark's blessing.

Kaleela's parents were desperate because they didn't have any child. So, they asked Hark to give them one.

Hark granted their wishes without any condition. But, raising child with dragon blessing wasn't easy since not they can't control their power.

Kaleela's mother died because of her power, and her coward father sold her to the slave market.

Since then, she believed that she was a misfortune magnet to others and after her teacher passed away, she chose to live privately.

Her foul mouth is just a mask to sent people away from her life. It was quite effective… until Grant came.

It's not like she was playing hard to get, but she doesn't have any plan to attached with him in a long time. That's why she agreed to go to Lancia's household.

Because she knew that no one agree with their relationship, and she has a reason to left him behind.

"Misfortune? As a part of Lancia's family, that word has no meaning for us. You can ask my niece about it."

She snorted softly." You look like a doting uncle, Grant. But, you are right. Cecilia is weird. Just like you."

He kissed the top of her head gently. "She didn't believe in prophecy, but has so much interest in magic."

"I know." Kaleela still remember the first time they met. A brave yet softhearted girl. When she asked her help, there was nothing in her eyes except the sincerity and solid determination.

As if, she believed that everything is going to be okay. And if something wrong happened, she just needs to find a way to solved it.

Perhaps, perseverance is one of Lancia's talent.

"I will give my succession title to Cecilia's second child. I already talk to the lawyer. Cecilia and my brother will know about this in the meantime. If they refused, I will sell it." Grant said out of the blue.

"What?!"

"I don't need an heir, Kal. If it's for you, I will do everything."

Kaleela gulped. Even he always said it, but now she felt that her heart is melting with that words. Truly, there must be something wrong with her today." Grant, I'm sorry for everything I've done. I won't run away anymore."

He flinched and release his embrace to see her face, "Really?"

"I don't want to lose with that naive brat."

"Can I kiss you?"

"Nope. I need to brush my teeth first." She said as she sits on the bed.

Grant rolled his eyes but he is still smiling like crazy. His heart beating so fast as if it will exploded. "Anyway, why did everything is quiet?"

Kaleela stop her movement, "You're right. I didn't sense their presence since yesterday. Perhaps, they are stays the night together? Ah, being young is great!"

Grant frowned. "Mister Max isn't a man like that."

"Oh? What is this? I thought you were to take sides on Cecilia."

He crossed his arms. "I knew him before I met with Cecilia. Besides, I doubt that they will end up together. My niece seems has no interest with him."

She giggled and combed her hair with the fingers, "You were wrong, Grant. That's why I bet that they will be a couple because I believe that they are love each others. But, I don't know why they were holding back."

"But, still, even she is my niece and she already does so much amazing thing, I still cheered up on Mister Max's side."

"Wait, I'm curious. Why did you always think highly about that masked man?"

"Well, it was a long story." He said with narrowing his brow. But, suddenly, a mischievous smile escaped from his lip. "I will tell you everything with one condition."

Kaleela feel a slight chill on her back. She has a bad feeling when saw his sparkling eyes. "What do you mean?"

Grant slowly approached her and whispering in her ears. When heard his condition, Kaleela blushed and snapped. "What the hell, Grant? Where did you get the idea?"

He tilted his head and smile innocently, "What do you think?"

"Wait a second! I need to brush my teeth!"

"It's okay. We can do that on the bathroom."

"Wait, what? We can?"

Grant laughed when saw her surprised face.

Truly, everything about her make him addicted. Simply being in her side, Grant feeling complete. Then, he's carrying her body before said, "Let's find out together, shall we?"
