Chapter 942: Chapter 942
Nevertheless, he proceeded resolutely toward that direction.
"Halt, show your pass."
Suddenly, a voice commanded Big Mosquito to stop in his tracks. The voice was cold, as if, should Jia Yan fail to produce the so-called pass, an attack would ensue.
Jia Yan paused, then looked down at the ground.
A vehicle had appeared out of nowhere, a combat vehicle, small at that. It was barely a meter in height, and the being inside was only about fifty to sixty centimeters tall. It seemed like something out of a miniature kingdom by Jia Yan’s feet, as if he might accidentally step on them.
Yet the tiny individual inside the vehicle exhibited no fear of Jia Yan’s massive form. To them, it seemed they were accustomed to the presence of creatures like Big Mosquito, even holding a kind of disdain for these ordinary Star Space Level beings.
"Eh? There’s a Star-level Existence among these little ones! To be so small and yet reach the Star Space Level, anything really is possible in this universe," Jia Yan couldn’t help but be taken aback.
However, when he saw the emblem on the vehicle representing the official power of this collection point’s port, he immediately realized that this tiny vehicle belonged to the authorities, and by the looks of it, it was military.
It was peculiar, but he still took out his communicator and opened a program that emitted a unique frequency.
The beeping sound that issued from the small vehicle was quite whimsical, much like a toy car.
It wasn’t long before a voice came from inside the vehicle.
"Okay, you can go now," said the voice from the tiny vehicle, with a tone like that of a child’s. It sounded quite juvenile to Jia Yan. However, they were military personnel, and he couldn’t afford to offend them. Jia Yan glanced at the ground before stepping directly over the small vehicle.
"Humph, what a rude fellow. After every grand assembly, there’s always one or two such characters who are barbaric," the voice from the small vehicle reached Jia Yan’s ears from a distance, but he just smiled and did not respond.
The universe was indeed filled with marvels. For example, Jia Yan had always believed that only large lifeforms could be powerful in the whole universe, a belief held true in both the Orion Arm and this place; but after encountering this small vehicle and its occupants, his perspective changed. It turned out that such small lifeforms could also evolve into such powerful beings.
Reflecting on previous encounters, it seemed that organisms as small as water droplets, which were incredibly powerful species, were not so rare after all. He was merely accustomed to a part of the Starry Sky where gigantic creatures were more common; perhaps, in the future, he might even visit a planet inhabited entirely by such little ones.
Today, the streets seemed especially strict. As he approached the collection point passageway, the inspections became more rigorous. To Jia Yan, every creature represented a potential future threat, so he made sure to remember the locations of these checkpoints.
After passing through multiple inspections, he finally reached the entry point.
"Your pass," demanded one of the Star Space Level beings from within, in a dispassionate tone.
Despite appearing weak, Jia Yan could see that the individual possessed the air of a soldier; it was his first time encountering such an aura among the Strong Ones, prompting him to take a second look.
The being was equipped with powerful weaponry and was undoubtedly a combatant, unlike some Strong Ones whose energy level may have reached the Star Space Level but whose combat power couldn’t even surpass a being at the Heavenly Peak.
Noticing Jia Yan’s scrutiny, the soldier-like being gave Jia Yan a couple of glances, causing him to haste in diverting his gaze.
Before entering the collection point, he didn’t want to attract the attention of any powerful individuals from these forces so soon.
"Alright, you may go in," said the soldier-like powerhouse, allowing Jia Yan to pass.
As Jia Yan walked by, he mentally noted this place. It was the first time he knew that among the Strong Ones, there existed those with a military demeanor.
As a Strong One of the Starry Sky, Jia Yan’s knowledge was still quite narrow. After all, he was not born in a power-stronghold, nor did he hail from this bustling place, but from an uncivilized primary planet in the Orion Arm, which could hardly even be considered a minor Civilization.
Therefore, Jia Yan’s weaknesses were quite clear. He did not know much about unknown entities or energies, and up to this point, he still couldn’t differentiate which technological weapons in this part of the Starry Sky were strong or weak.
Thus, the upcoming battle could be the most dangerous in Jia Yan’s history. It was not only the threat posed by the existence of the ten top Strong Ones but also his ignorance of the technological weapons that could deal him the deadliest blows!
"Mr. Jia Yan, right? Follow me; I will lead you. I don’t know if you plan to enter the collection point with the Strong Ones from Angel Camp or intend to go in alone?"
Not long after Jia Yan entered the security area, he was approached by a being who stood up and was about his size.
This was a creature with five heads that, despite their outward appearance of an Early Star Level being, gave Jia Yan the distinct feeling that its threat level exceeded that of the typical Mid-Starry Sky Period.
The being clearly felt that Jia Yan was not to be underestimated either. As it watched Big Mosquito, it showed surprise but no caution. After all, this was their stronghold, and as a military member here, they had seen too many existences like Jia Yan to be concerned.
