When they finished tidying up and came out from the backyard, Yanyan was just entering: "Hey, Qi Junrui, what are you doing at my house?"

Qi Junrui replied candidly, looking at Yueyue beside him: "I’m here for Yueyue."

Yanyan glanced at the two of them: "What do you need Yueyue for?"

Qi Junrui laughed: "I can’t say just yet, I’m still waiting for a letter."

Yanyan parked her bike: "I couldn’t bring back everything this trip, I’ll have to make another run tomorrow."

She turned to look at Yueyue: "Did you bring all your things back?"

Yueyue nodded, "Yeah, Qi Junrui helped me move them back."

Yanyan widened her eyes: "What’s going on, why help Yueyue move and not me? Aren’t we all friends?"

Luo Qiao, who was listening from the kitchen door, couldn’t take it anymore. How did she end up with two clueless daughters? She quickly spoke up: "Yanyan, why are you hesitating? Hurry up and take your things inside. It looks like it’s going to snow."

Only then did Yanyan rush to take her things back to the backyard. Even when she came out, she didn’t forget to say to Qi Junrui: "No way, Qi Junrui, you can’t favor one over the other, you gotta help me move my stuff later."

How could Qi Junrui refuse, especially since this was his future sister-in-law he couldn’t afford to offend: "Alright, I’ll go with Yueyue to help you in a bit."

Luo Qiao smiled at Yueyue, gave her a wink, and then said, "Yueyue, come help me bring things outside."

Once Yueyue was in the kitchen, Luo Qiao whispered: "What’s going on with you two? Is Qi Junrui chasing you?"

Yueyue glanced outside and whispered, "Mom, how did you know?"

Luo Qiao made a soft ’humph’: "Your mom’s been there, done that."

Mentioning it made her a bit unsure, recalling how when Lu Yichen first pursued her, she was also quite clueless. She suddenly found it amusing — could she have been so emotionally dense too?

She looked at her daughter: "Did you agree?"

Yueyue shook her head and waved her hands: "Not yet, I said I need to think about it."

Thinking of something, Yueyue hugged Luo Qiao’s arm: "Mom, give me some advice."

Luo Qiao looked outside: "What’s your own feeling? As for Qi Junrui, you’ve known him for years. His character is definitely not an issue, so it’s entirely up to whether you want it or not. We, as parents, won’t make judgments or mislead you."

Yueyue pouted: "If I agree, you and dad won’t oppose?"

Luo Qiao laughed: "You’re going to be twenty soon, and starting a relationship doesn’t mean it’s certain. As long as it doesn’t affect your studies, it’s fine."

Yueyue hugged Luo Qiao: "Mom, you’re the best."

Luo Qiao grabbed a plate of freshly baked cake: "Take it out. Think it through before you answer, it’s an important decision after all."

Yueyue nodded: "I got it."

Together they served the cake with tea and enjoyed a few pieces of Luo Qiao’s homemade cakes, before heading out to help Yanyan move her things.

They hadn’t been gone long when snowflakes began to fall from the sky.

Elder Rong and Rong Daniang were busy in the greenhouse at the back, tending to the vegetable patch, while Luo Qiao brought some of her baked cakes to the backyard.

Upon reaching the greenhouse entrance: "Elder Rong, Rong Daniang, are you done? I baked some cakes, take a break and have some."

Rong Daniang heard Luo Qiao and said: "All done, you’re really quick. We’ll be finished soon; let’s eat a bit later to save washing our hands twice."

Soon enough, the work was done, and the three of them returned from the backyard only to see Luo Chen standing at the main entrance.

When Luo Chen saw Luo Qiao, he greeted: "Hello, Auntie. I came to see Yanyan, is she here?"
