Chapter 1772: Chapter 1772: Change of Ownership
The Yang Family still tried to get Luo Qiao to come help them.
After receiving the call, Luo Qiao politely indicated she couldn’t help and suggested they find another solution.
Now that the master and madam were gone, she wasn’t going to deal with Yang Family’s affairs anymore. Besides, she knew about the house donation and didn’t want to get involved.
The Yang Family struggled for a few days to no avail because the other party had audio, video, and written evidence with complete paperwork; they couldn’t rely on tricks to reclaim the house.
A week later, ownership of the house changed hands. The neighbors weren’t too sure who the owner was, but they noticed someone regularly came to clean.
The Yang Family came by a few more times, but unfortunately, the new owner didn’t care who they were and cleaned up after them twice. They didn’t dare cause trouble again.
Luo Qiao had thought about buying the house herself, but she feared it would remind her of the past and she found it bothersome to deal with the Yang Family – not because she feared them, but because it was troublesome.
Luo Qiao took a week off before starting to work again.
She received a call from her second sister-in-law at noon: “Qiaoqiao, I’m back in Capital City.”
Luo Qiao then remembered the matter with Second Brother and Second Sister-in-law. She’d already pushed their affairs completely from her mind over the past few days, but hearing Second Sister-in-law’s voice made her ask how they were.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, she said, “Second Sister-in-law, I haven’t been in a good mood these days and completely forgot about your situation. Are you okay now?”
Xiao Ya was just back and had learned about the Yang Family’s matter: “Qiaoqiao, sorry to hear about the Yang Family’s elderly couple’s situation. My condolences.”
Luo Qiao sighed: “I’m fine now, don’t worry. Have you reconciled?”
Xiao Ya coughed lightly: “I misunderstood him, but you can’t blame me. Anyone would have misunderstood in that situation. However, I was indeed wrong not to clarify things before jumping to conclusions and stubbornly leaving, which scared him quite a bit.”
She then shared what happened later over the phone.
Turned out that day, Second Brother Luo Xuyuan’s express train arrived earlier than Second Sister-in-law’s regular train. Second Sister-in-law never expected to be caught right after getting off, feeling uneasy, her instinct was to quickly bypass him and leave, clutching her luggage.
Luo Xuyuan wouldn’t let her leave like that, but the station was crowded, so it wasn’t appropriate to push and pull. He just followed her out until he could stop her.
The funny thing was, because of this, the two of them ended up in a police station. Someone passing by thought Luo Xuyuan was a bad guy and secretly reported him to the police.
Luckily, Luo Xuyuan had anticipated trouble outside and attentively brought their marriage certificate, so they avoided embarrassment.
Luo Xuyuan really showed his resourcefulness; in front of the police officers, he played the video he had ordered from the restaurant, letting Xiao Ya watch it on a player there. Xiao Ya’s face turned crimson and only then did Luo Xuyuan relent.
He even made her promise in front of the police officers that in the future, if there’s any misunderstanding, she must first clarify before taking any action and shouldn’t just leave without a word.
Xiao Ya agreed to anything just to leave the police station quickly, and as soon as they walked out, she started ignoring Luo Xuyuan.
In desperation, Luo Xuyuan followed her everywhere holding the marriage certificate, until finally managing to placate her. They only returned to Capital City last night and finally settled down.
Listening to this, Luo Qiao gave a rare smile for the first time in days.
Xiao Ya said to apologize, she’d treat Luo Qiao to dinner in the evening, inviting Shen Juan, Miao Shuang, and Ji Lin, but close to the end of the workday, she got a call from Tiong Qiufeng, who hadn’t contacted her for a while, adding another person to the dinner.
