Chapter 1747: Chapter 1747: An Unexpected Surprise

Early the next morning, everyone inexplicably felt a bit excited.

They had already inquired that it would take just over twenty minutes on foot from their accommodation to Zhou Lei Village. After having breakfast, they set off.

On the way, they saw many orchards and thought about buying some fruits to take back when they returned later.

After entering the village, they started chatting with the people at the village entrance, saying that they were on a National Day holiday, bringing the kids out for a trip and planning to buy some fruits here today, hoping to pick them personally in the orchard.

The villagers were thrilled to hear about potential business.

It didn’t take long for them to glean all the information they wanted and even found out the location of Zhou Lei’s house. They even learned that among the people chatting nearby were Zhou Lei’s family members – one was Zhou Lei’s mother, and the other was his second sister-in-law.

Luo Qiao and Wang Xiaoxin deliberately approached them, not expecting Mother Zhou Lei to be very hospitable. She even offered to take them to her orchard, where they could eat as much as they wanted, and then pay for what they carried away.

This straightforward personality was something Wang Xiaoxin really liked.

Second Sister-in-law Zhou Lei was thrilled to hear they were from the Capital City and mentioned Zhou Lei: "My younger brother-in-law also works in the Capital City. He recently said he found a partner from there, making our Zhou Family proud."

Wang Xiaoxin was intrigued: "Aren’t you worried about finding someone spoiled, which might lead to conflicts among the sisters-in-law later?"

Second Sister-in-law Zhou Lei laughed: "My younger brother-in-law plans to work and live in the Capital City in the future. She would only come back during holidays, so even if she’s spoiled, it’s his choice as long as he can handle it.

Besides, she won’t come back often, so even if there are disagreements, it only lasts a few days. We don’t provoke her. We’ve heard that educated people are very polite, and we trust my younger brother-in-law’s judgment."

This made Wang Xiaoxin even more satisfied.

Luo Qiao also agreed with what Second Sister-in-law Zhou Lei said. They only interacted for a few days each year, so even if their living habits were different, they could endure it. At least the future mother-in-law and second sister-in-law were rational people. Her niece should have no trouble getting along after getting married.

When they reached the field and met Zhou Lei’s father and older brothers, Lu Yixuan and Wang Xiaoxin were completely relieved. All were honest and sensible people. They talked for a long time in the field, and near noon, they left with two big bags of apples after weighing and paying for them.

Mother Zhou Lei still wanted to keep them for lunch, saying that meeting was fate. Luo Qiao laughed and said, "That’s true. We might see each other again soon."

After they left, Mother Zhou Lei commented, "They’re from the Capital City. I wonder if our future in-laws will be so easy to get along with and if it can work out."

Father Zhou Lei lit a cigarette and said, "What’s the point of thinking so much? If they are meant to be together, they will be no matter what. We can’t help him much, but we won’t hold him back either. If they’re not meant to be, even if we’re capable, it’s futile."

Luo Qiao and the others stayed there for another day, wandering around to get a general understanding of the area, even asking about the customs of weddings and funerals.

Then they returned to the Capital City the same way.

They called Lu Yiting’s family in advance and asked Lu Ran to invite Zhou Lei for dinner that evening.

At the dinner table, Wang Xiaoxin gave a nod of approval, letting Zhou Lei notify his family to come to the Capital City to discuss the wedding matters, which was a delightful surprise for Zhou Lei.

He initially thought he would need to put in more effort, but unexpectedly, his mother-in-law gave her blessing today, meaning he was now officially recognized. His smile was so wide that it almost reached his ears.

He stood up and toasted everyone one by one to express his excitement at this moment.
