Chapter 1739: Chapter 1739: Quarrel

After Luo Qiao came over and gave Bai Sulì a scolding, Bai Sulì thought the matter was over.

At noon, her eldest daughter Yang Zining came back, her eyes red, saying that due to discrepancies in the travel expenses she reported on her last business trip, the company found out. Everyone involved in the false reporting was disciplined, and because it was her idea, she was asked to take a break and wait for further news at home.

Yang Zining cried for a long time: "Mom, why don’t you call grandpa and grandma and see if they can help? I can’t lose this job now. We bought the house on a loan, and the mortgage needs to be paid every month."

Hearing her eldest daughter cry, Bai Sulì also felt terrible, but she was in excruciating pain herself. She had previously been to a clinic outside the residential area.

But after a series of examinations, nothing was found, yet she was still in pain all over.

Only then did Yang Zining notice something was wrong with her mom: "Mom, what’s wrong with you?"

Bai Sulì dared not tell the truth, as she also had her pride: "I slipped at the factory this morning, and I’m still feeling sore all over."

Yang Zining stopped crying: "Why don’t I take you to the hospital for a check-up? What if you hurt something?"

Bai Sulì waved her hand: "No need, I’ve already been to the clinic outside, and the doctor there examined me. It’s nothing serious."

Yang Zining felt uneasy: "It’s better to have a check-up in a proper hospital. The small clinic doesn’t have equipment, and if they miss something, it could delay treatment."

Listening to her daughter’s words, Bai Sulì felt a bit scared. Could it be that she was really injured internally? If so, she would have to seek medical expenses from Luo Qiao.

So the two of them skipped lunch, went hungry, and made another trip to the hospital. This check-up cost several hundred yuan, yet nothing was wrong.

Seeing that nothing was found, Bai Sulì complained to her daughter: "Look, there’s nothing wrong. You insisted on going to the hospital and wasted so much money. Think about how much meat that could’ve bought."

Yang Zining, already in a bad mood, was worried that her mom might have internal injuries that would be missed, so she put aside her own troubles to accompany her for the check-up. Now knowing her mom was fine, she felt relieved.

But her mom’s nagging now angered Yang Zining: "I did this for you, worrying about you, and yet you complain about me."

Saying this, she stopped supporting Bai Sulì and walked off by herself.

Bai Sulì was fine from the check-up, but was feeling unwell all over. Without support, she had to shout loudly to her daughter: "Zining, don’t walk so fast. Help your mom; I’m really in pain."

But no matter how much she shouted from behind, Yang Zining didn’t stop and went straight to the hospital entrance to wait.

It took Bai Sulì more than twenty minutes to move out of the hospital, with sweat all over her forehead. Seeing Yang Zining sitting outside, she got upset: "I’m not even old yet, and you act as if you’re taking care of me in old age. What are you waiting for here? I don’t need you to wait. Go wherever you need to go."

Yang Zining looked at Bai Sulì, who took so long to come out: "It’s not that far, even a snail would have made it out by now. You’re obviously doing this on purpose."

The two of them started arguing right there at the hospital entrance.

Tired of the quarrel, Bai Sulì didn’t want to suffer anymore, so she didn’t take the bus and directly hailed a taxi at the entrance. At least this way, she didn’t have to walk to the bus stop as she was really uncomfortable and just wanted to get home early.

But when she got home, she saw her eldest son Yang Ruining and daughter-in-law Mao Xiaoxia at home, both with gloomy expressions.
