Chapter 1647: Chapter 1647: She Did the Right Thing
After a whole day of travel and having dinner, everyone went back to their rooms to rest early.
The next morning, Yang Jiancheng and Feng Shumin got up early. They went downstairs for a stroll and brought breakfast back with them.
Even the little ones, despite being in a new place, got up early and went for a run along the road outside the hotel before returning.
They just happened to meet the elder master and elder mistress at the hotel entrance.
Xiao Ye stepped forward and took the food from the elder master’s hand: "Elder master, elder mistress, why are you up so early too?"
Feng Shumin replied with a smile: "As you get older, you sleep less, and with us going back to the farm today, your elder master is quite excited and woke up even earlier than usual."
When they came up, Luo Qiao and Lu Yichen were already packed.
Luo Qiao saw the food in their hands: "You’ve already bought breakfast, I was just thinking of going down to eat with you all."
Yang Jiancheng glanced at the sky outside: "We took a short walk and just happened to find a breakfast stand in front, so we brought back a little of everything."
Luo Qiao suggested: "Let’s eat in our room, and then we can head back to the farm early. Look at how eager the master is."
At this moment, Elder Rong and Rong Daniang also packed up and came out of their room with their bags.
After breakfast, they checked out and drove towards the farm.
An hour and a half later, Lu Yichen drove the minibus to the farm gate, where quite a few people had already gathered, and Yang Jiancheng excitedly got out of the car.
Director Tiong was the first to come forward: "Doctor Yang, it’s been twenty years, how have you been?"
Yang Jiancheng extended his hand to shake Director Tiong’s: "I’ve been well, often reminiscing about our farm, the people and events from back then."
He grew emotional: "As I age, I frequently dream of our farm, the bustling work scenes. Well, Qiaoqiao brought us back for a visit."
Director Tiong patted Yang Jiancheng’s hand: "It’s good to have you back. Being able to meet again in this lifetime makes me truly happy."
Director Tiong’s wife approached: "Old Tiong, don’t just stand at the gate, invite Doctor Yang and his wife to rest at the headquarters."
Director Tiong chuckled at his wife’s words: "Yes, yes, yes, how excitedly confused I am. Let’s go, let’s go to the headquarters, it’s warm there, and we can sit and chat."
Director Tiong’s wife smiled and took Feng Shumin’s hand: "Shumin, twenty years it’s been."
Feng Shumin looked at the woman with a full head of white hair in front of her: "Time flies indeed, twenty years just like that, we’ve grown old."
It was then that Director Tiong noticed the people behind them: "Who are these children?"
Yang Jiancheng smiled and introduced: "These five are my disciple Qiaoqiao’s children. The two girls are twins in their first year of middle school, and the three boys are triplets in fourth grade."
The children politely greeted everyone, inquired about their well-being, and wished them a happy New Year.
Luo Qiao then introduced Elder Rong and Rong Daniang, turned to signal Lu Yichen in the car to drive inside.
A crowd of familiar faces gathered around Yang Jiancheng and Feng Shumin, warmly greeting them and chatting about past events.
The buildings at the headquarters still looked the same, though they appeared renovated, with new doors and windows, and the yard clean and tidy.
Yang Jiancheng’s eyes turned red: "The headquarters still looks the same, but you all have kept it up so well."
Director Tiong smiled at Luo Qiao: "We have Luo Qiao to thank. She sent some money a few years back to renovate the farm, ensuring it wouldn’t fall into neglect, which is why it looks like it does now."
Yang Jiancheng nodded: "Qiaoqiao is nostalgic and grateful, what she did was commendable."
Someone chimed in: "Luo Qiao has done well. She left our farm and didn’t forget us. We all thank you."
Luo Qiao beamed: "I grew up on the farm, and it will always be the homeland I miss."
"Well said," someone shouted.
A person squeezed forward: "Doctor Yang, is it really you? Do you still remember me?"
