Chapter 86: Chapter 86
Quinn Lockwood found an empty spot and dialed Elias Sinclair’s number.
Frustrated, she stomped her foot, put away her phone, and was about to turn and leave when something suddenly came to mind.
She quickly pulled her phone out again, opened the text messages, and swiftly typed a line.
"The company thinks the contract is invalid and asked me to contact you to terminate it. Please call when you’re free, thanks!"
Seeing the message had been sent successfully, Quinn smirked, locked her screen, and went back to get her makeup done.
Elias Sinclair had just finished a routine meeting and frowned slightly when he saw the message, choosing to ignore it.
Returning to his office, he opened the contract Joyce Kramer privately signed and finally returned Quinn’s call.
"About the contract, what do you want to say?" Without waiting for the other party to speak, Elias went straight to the point.
"I said, the company thinks the contract is invalid and asked me to find out when you are available to terminate it, Mr. Sinclair!" The person on the other end was clearly in a less than cheerful mood.
"Oh? Terminate?" Elias’s tone was indifferent, almost devoid of emotion.
"Yes, terminate! Afterward, we can draw a clear line between us, with no debts owed!" The other party emphasized the words "clear line,"
causing a slight change in Elias’s otherwise expressionless face.
She wanted to draw a clear line with him, wasn’t that what he had always wished for?
Why did hearing it now actually make him feel somewhat unhappy?
Not hearing a reply from Elias, the other party continued: "Mr. Sinclair, I know you’ve always disapproved of me, wishing I would stay far away. And I really don’t want to keep making you unhappy, so please make haste to achieve both our wishes."
The urgency in her tone was unmistakable.
A deep thought flashed across Elias’s expression, sword-like brows furrowed; he seemed a bit lost in thought.
Why did he feel somewhat uncomfortable? He didn’t want Quinn Lockwood to draw a clear line with him.
It turned out to be an extremely strong feeling.
As he hesitated, a bit lost in thought, the voice on the other end of the line spoke again.
"Hello! Are you saying anything? Are you still listening?"
Perhaps finding it a bit noisy, Elias hung up the phone directly.
She said the contract was invalid, so he would indulge her wish.
With a "clap," he closed the folder.
"Outrageous! Outrageous!" Quinn Lockwood was furious, glaring at the carpet under her feet, and stomped twice.
Always hanging up on people so abruptly, she really wondered how Elias Sinclair’s company got to be this big.
But she’d made herself clear enough, and given that he’d hung up on her, it certainly meant he was angry.
If he was angry, then he’d certainly quickly proceed with the termination!
Thinking this, Quinn Lockwood felt her mood brighten considerably.
She guessed right; Elias was indeed angry and indeed would soon come to terminate the contract!
Soon, the folks from Dynasty Style Company would come to shoot the cover for the second column.
Quinn Lockwood looked at the email they sent, which included style requirements for the upcoming shoot.
This time was set against the background of The Tang Dynasty.
Due to the stringent requirements for the essence in classical dance, she had to study the historical backgrounds of various dynasties.
During The Tang Dynasty, because of thriving political, economic, and cultural conditions, society was open, thus leading to grand and lively dance activities.
Phoebe Zane at the time could dance in a person’s palm, gaining fame for her "palm dance."
She herself had done quite a bit of research back then.
Despite the difficulty of mastering the dance, its charm equally presented challenges.
Because of its difficulty, not many people could grasp it! But Quinn Lockwood was different.
Perhaps she had an extraordinary talent, or maybe it was her unwillingness to concede, which led her to grasp a good part of it.
It seems today’s shoot will go very smoothly.
Quinn Lockwood relaxed into her chair, a radiant expression emerging on her face. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ novel⦿fire.net
"Why are you idling here, my dear Miss Savannah!" Anna exclaimed incredulously.
"What’s wrong? Aren’t we waiting for the Dynasty Style Company people to arrive?" The girl in front of her reluctantly shifted her posture, glancing at Anna.
"Exactly, that’s precisely why you should get up and practice the essence in the mirror right now!" Anna nearly yanked her up from the chair.
"Relax, I’ve practiced everything, I just need to rest for a bit. Just call me when they arrive." Quinn Lockwood then closed her eyes.
She hadn’t slept well last night and got up quite early today, if she didn’t rest now, she might fall asleep during the shoot.
Anna looked at Quinn Lockwood’s state, thinking she was acting all high-and-mighty again, glanced at her watch, and shook her head.
Indeed, habits die hard; gaining a bit of fame leads back to former airs.
Anna cursed slightly in her mind, then walked out in her high heels.
Though only thirty minutes passed, Quinn Lockwood felt her physical and mental state had greatly improved once she was awakened.
After changing into her outfit and getting her makeup done, she headed to the studio for the shoot.
Elias Sinclair arrived at Quinn Lockwood’s company with the renewal contract Joyce Kramer signed on his behalf.
As the lighting technician adjusted the lights, a woman in a vibrant red embroidered dress showcased her alluring charm perfectly, the crabapple flower jade hairpin adding a graceful touch amidst the allure.
The people present couldn’t help but gasp.
"Good, Savannah Lowell, do a half-face-covered pose, make sure to watch the camera." The photographer was extremely satisfied with Quinn Lockwood’s image and aura.
This was exactly the feeling he wanted.
"The most important thing is to showcase the seductive beauty of The Tang Dynasty women, but be sure to grasp the measure." The photographer reminded with a hint of concern.
Quinn Lockwood nodded, then casually performed a bit of the palm dance.
With eyes dreamy, seemingly shining, she lightly flipped her long sleeves to conceal the slightly raised corners of her lips.
Her eyes contained a captivating allure, mesmerizing everyone so they couldn’t look away.
The photographer continuously pressed the shutter, afraid to miss any moment.
If it weren’t for the fear of taking too many photos making it difficult to choose later, he really didn’t want to stop.
Just as the shoot ended, the fawning voice of Anna could be heard.
"How was it, Mr. Sinclair, didn’t I say signing with us for Savannah was the right choice?"
Elias Sinclair had seen Quinn Lockwood’s performance.
Even he was momentarily drawn in by the woman’s demeanor, having never seen this remarkable side of Quinn Lockwood before.
Quinn Lockwood paused in her steps, nearly stumbling.
He came over so quickly? So she was about to be liberated.
With this thought, she hurriedly lifted her dress and walked briskly over.
"Miss Savannah, hurry over, Mr. Sinclair is here," Anna urged as she noticed Elias watching Quinn’s direction.
"You came so quickly, can we terminate the contract now?" Stopping in front of him, Quinn Lockwood suppressed her excitement, but he still noticed.
