Chapter 83: Chapter 83

Quinn Lockwood was so upset that she lost her appetite. She took a few bites of food before rushing to the set.

Finishing work early meant she could quickly go find Elias Sinclair.

She wished she could fly over to see him right now.

This must be the first time she was so eager to meet Elias Sinclair.

Arriving at the set, Quinn hurriedly changed her costume, touched up her makeup, and then sat on the side to read the upcoming script.

The next scene was quite simple, where the supporting actress and her close friend went to the teahouse, just happening to run into the male lead.

To catch the male lead’s attention, she pretended to sprain her ankle while passing him on the stairs.

Acting with Dylan Quinn was something Quinn Lockwood found relaxing.

After all, he was experienced and could easily lead her into character, while also keeping in mind the pace and depth of the plot and emotions.

At that moment, Dylan was filming an emotional scene with Ariana Lynch.

Ariana’s eyes were filled with tears, as she tilted her head to look at him, with a face full of accusation yet silent.

Dylan’s eyes were filled with gentleness as he softly wiped away her tears, his long, fair fingers gently brushed across Ariana Lynch’s face.

Then he gently pulled her into his arms, kissed her hair, and comforted her: "Don’t cry, I’m here."

Watching the two of them, Quinn Lockwood could almost believe they were a loving couple if she didn’t know it was acting.

Perhaps sensing something, Dylan looked up, pausing slightly.

"Cut!" The filming ended just then.

"Very good, prepare for the next scene." The director looked at the screen with a satisfied expression.

He then looked up and asked, "Has Savannah Lowell arrived?" scanning the area.

"I’m here, director, we can start right away." Quinn Lockwood withdrew her gaze from the pair and waved the script at the director.

Dylan breathed a sigh of relief and then turned to pick up the script to find Savannah Lowell.

Luckily they finished just in time, otherwise, he might have slipped out of character and having to redo the scene would have been troublesome.

Thinking about Quinn Lockwood watching his intimate scene with Ariana Lynch, Dylan felt a bit uncomfortable.

He seemingly preferred not having Quinn Lockwood see his intimate acts with others.

Dylan smiled, perhaps because seeing her suddenly affected his acting vibe.

Ariana Lynch stood there, glancing contemptuously sideways at Quinn Lockwood, snorting disdainfully.

"Disgusting." She stomped on the ground and had no time to watch them; as the leading lady, she was busy.

"Savannah, how are your preparations?" Dylan gathered his thoughts and walked over to Quinn Lockwood.

"Pretty good, we can start." She gave Dylan a faint smile.

She still hadn’t properly thanked him for the help with the trending topics issue earlier.

Thinking of the trending topics, she couldn’t help frowning and remembered Elias Sinclair.

She needed to finish this scene quickly, then put down the script and said, "Let’s start."

Without Ariana Lynch’s interference and with Dylan’s guidance, the scene went very smoothly.

Plus, Quinn Lockwood had been secretly studying hard for so long, her acting had improved significantly.

"Good, that’s a wrap!" The director’s call was particularly decisive, showing his satisfaction with Quinn Lockwood’s performance today.

"Savannah, that’s impressive!" Dylan gave Quinn Lockwood an approving look and thumbs up.

"Thanks." Quinn Lockwood tilted her head at Dylan, then gave him an incredibly bright smile.

"But, I have some matters to attend to, so I’ll leave first. Please tell the director for me, thank you!" She showed an awkward expression.

She quickly packed up her script, waved at Dylan, and hurriedly exited.

It was almost evening by the time she left the set.

"Hey, Elias Sinclair, are you at the company or at home?" Quinn Lockwood unexpectedly called him, unsure exactly where Elias would be at this time.

"What is it?" His voice on the other end was cold and emotionless.

"Where are you? I have something very important to ask you, I’m coming right now." Quinn Lockwood suppressed her rising anger, hailing a car.

"Downstairs at the company, within ten minutes." His tone held a hint of impatience before the line went dead.

Damn it, she was really infuriating.

Elias Sinclair leaned against the car door, impatiently glancing at his watch.

What could this woman want?

"I’m here, I’m here!" Quinn Lockwood ran forward as she got out of the car.

She thought Elias Sinclair might have already left since ten minutes were almost up.

Seeing he was still waiting, her tone softened a bit.

"Why renew the contract?" Quinn Lockwood looked at the man before her.

He leaned partially against the car door, yet his aura remained intimidating as always.

"I only found out about the renewal after returning to the office." The person before her stood straight, squinting slightly.

He slowly spoke, "The people under me decided on their own." Dıscover more novels at NoveI-Fire.ɴet

"You didn’t know, so does that mean it’s not valid?" Hearing this response, Quinn Lockwood’s eyes brightened.

She unconsciously moved closer, displaying a hopeful expression.

"Is this the important matter you mentioned?" Her proximity made Elias Sinclair uncomfortable.

He didn’t answer the question, was she eager to use this opportunity to get close again?

Did she want to return to The Sinclair Family?

"Isn’t it important enough? The contract expiring means we can go our separate ways." Quinn Lockwood fumed internally at his words.

"I truly don’t understand what you mean. You’re the boss, how could you not know about the contract?" She glared at Elias Sinclair, barely suppressing her resentment.

Elias took in the woman’s expression, finding her increasingly inscrutable, who gave her the courage to confront him?

He slightly raised his eyebrows, and his eyes seemed to hide a hint of anger.

Lowering his head, he whispered into her ear, "I advise you not to repeatedly test my limits."

Feeling the warm breath in her ear, her body shuddered as if electrified, retreating two steps.

"Enough, this is your problem." Quinn Lockwood could no longer restrain herself.

"I’ll have Anna draft the termination contract, once this is solved, I promise there’ll be nothing between us."

Her tone was firm, allowing no argument, and with that, Quinn Lockwood turned and left.

Elias Sinclair pressed his lips together, his gaze lingering on the girl’s deliberate strides, his eyes growing darker and more rigid.
