Chapter 405: Chapter 405
It feels as if my heart has completely fallen.
Elias Sinclair knows that he has fallen in love with the woman before him.
Carrying the woman from the bathroom, Elias carefully holds her close like a treasured possession.
Perhaps because she’s been through far too many complicated events recently, Quinn Lockwood doesn’t sleep well in the second half of the night.
She saw in her dream, Ariana Lynch holding Mr. Lockwood’s arm and sweetly calling him dad right in front of her.
She also saw Jonah Hansen entwined passionately with Ariana Lynch, and how he schemed to take everything from her with Ariana’s help.
"Jonah Hansen...", you beast...
Quinn Lockwood subconsciously clenched her fist and softly uttered Jonah Hansen’s name.
She hates him so much!
Elias Sinclair wasn’t in a deep sleep; he heard Quinn Lockwood calling out.
The man’s handsome face, which still wore a slight smile, suddenly turned icy cold, and he withdrew his hand from under Quinn Lockwood’s neck.
So today, if Dylan Quinn and Xenia Monroe hadn’t seen Quinn Lockwood, would she have been with Jonah Hansen ?
Elias Sinclair’s hands were clenched into fists; he seemed to understand why Quinn Lockwood was in such a state.
She wasn’t drugged but prepared herself specifically for Jonah Hansen, right?
The man stood up and looked coldly at Quinn Lockwood, his deep, dark eyes flashing with too many emotions to decode.
Without even grabbing his sleepwear jacket laid nearby, he strode out of the room with a cold expression.
A certain part of his heart seemed to hurt, as if someone had stabbed it hard with a knife.
The next day, when Quinn Lockwood woke up, she felt that somewhere on her body was still aching.
Shameful scenes from last night flooded her mind, every frame telling Quinn Lockwood how she was ambiguously and passionately entangled with Elias Sinclair, mad and unending.
Quinn Lockwood was so embarrassed that she wished she could find a hole to crawl into; how could she have acted so forward!
She tugged at the blanket wanting to cover herself, only to find she was wearing Elias Sinclair’s large, cold dark blue pajamas under the sheets.
Only then did she lift her head, realizing she was already alone, with no trace of that person’s warmth left.
"You jerk!" Quinn Lockwood looked at the empty space beside her, feeling inexplicably angry.
She checked the time; fortunately, it wasn’t late yet, and she could still make it in time by tidying up and leaving for the film set.
Quinn Lockwood lifted the quilt, and as she moved her legs, she saw a bright red blotch of blood on the sheet.
Her already pink face immediately turned red down to the roots of her neck, and she quickly covered it with the quilt.
Feeling it was still inappropriate, she eventually pulled the sheet off, rolled it into a ball, and tossed it into the pile of dirty clothes.
At least it shouldn’t be seen now, how mortifying.
After dealing with the sheet issue, Quinn Lockwood puffed up in anger and went back to her room to tidy up.
The annoying guy didn’t even say a word before leaving!
He’s really... really someone who puts on his pants and doesn’t acknowledge people!
On her way to the set, Quinn Lockwood was distracted and accidentally crossed several red traffic lines.
When she arrived on set, she kept checking her phone, which led her assistant to stick close by so she could hand her the phone whenever needed.
Finally, after checking her phone for the umpteenth time, Quinn Lockwood couldn’t stand it anymore.
What is Elias Sinclair doing, not even having a moment to send her a single message?
"Sharon, when is my scene this afternoon?" Quinn Lockwood put down her phone, pouted a bit irritably, and didn’t even feel like glancing at her script again.
"There’s only one more side-profile set photo left, the rest this afternoon are the lead actress and actor’s scenes." Sharon Shaw flipped through the schedule, and Quinn Lockwood’s parts were pathetically encircled with just one red marker.
"What’s up, Savannah, is something bothering you?" Sharon Shaw noticed Quinn Lockwood’s agitation; she hadn’t talked to herself all day today nor laughed and joked as usual.
She seemed to check her phone every few minutes, maybe something urgently needed addressing.
Quinn Lockwood clutched her phone, her eyes slightly lowered as if contemplating something; then she stood up, placed a hand on Sharon Shaw’s shoulder, and said seriously, "I do have something to handle; please tell the director to merge the still shot with tomorrow’s shoot." Quinn Lockwood felt an emptiness within her heart, yearning to go outside for some air.
While doing so... while doing something.
She lowered her eyes again and opened her phone, the screen landing right on Elias Sinclair’s contact page.
"There’s a document unfinished on the desk in my studio office; could you go check on it for me? I’ll be off." Quinn Lockwood pocketed her phone, packed up her bag, and spoke to Sharon Shaw in a rush, as if fearing to be seen.
In the instance of turning around to leave, she slipped her hand back into her pocket.
There’s still probably no message.
Quinn Lockwood felt extremely downcast, like a wilting flower, listless and dispirited.
Maybe he’s busy today, unable to schedule the specifics of the endorsement, right?
No problem, if he’s unavailable to arrange it, I can head over to inquire about it, toss in some minor suggestions; after all, the new season’s product from Elias Sinclair’s company already decided on me as a spokesperson.
Feeling slightly relieved, Quinn Lockwood let her thoughts drift into that.
Instead of driving, she first stopped at the succulent restaurant to pack some exquisite dishes for Elias Sinclair and then went to The Sinclair Group to find him.
Recently, he had asked her to bring him lunch, so today she decided to do so.
Although store-bought, this time, she chose all flavors Elias Sinclair loves.
Upon arriving at The Sinclair Group, the employees’ attitudes toward her had changed from before.
Now, she was Mr. Sinclair’s openly recognized wife, directly their superior.
Joyce Kramer was ruthlessly expelled by Mr. Sinclair for offending Quinn Lockwood; so how could these insignificant people dare?
All the way, the employees respectfully and politely greeted Quinn Lockwood.
Yet, a few who made eye contact with her seemed flustered and quickly avoided her gaze.
As if harboring guilt or hiding something from her.
Quinn Lockwood felt it odd, but thought perhaps some employees still disliked her, and didn’t pay much mind to it.
