Chapter 358: Chapter 358
Quinn Lockwood raised her phone with a serious expression, showing the screen where she was dialing the police.
The makeup artist was pushed onto shattered glass by several men who looked fierce, and some even dragged her out. Linda’s hair was in disarray, scattered on the ground, and her clothes were covered in dust and glass shards.
"Ah, please let me go, I’ll find a way to get the money as soon as possible." The hem of Linda’s clothes was pulled up, and the skin on her waist was already scraped in several places.
When Lina first heard someone was calling the police, her face lit up with joy, but seeing Quinn arrive, she suddenly froze, and panic set in.
"Little girl, don’t meddle, or we’ll play with you too." A man wearing a gold watch walked over with a fierce look and reached to grab Quinn’s phone.
"Little girl, is she your friend?" The man came over, his eyes creepily examining Quinn up and down.
Just by her demeanor and attire, he could tell that Quinn Lockwood was definitely wealthy.
"Dragon, this girl looks much prettier. Why not take both of them back? After all, Linda owes a lot of money and needs a guarantor." One of Dragon’s subordinates respectfully suggested.
Dragon glanced at Linda, who was trembling on the ground, and then at Quinn, showing a greedy expression.
"Dare to call the cops, huh? I’m telling you, even if you call the police, it doesn’t matter. This woman owes me a lot. Today, either you pay for her, or I’ll take both of you to settle the debt." Dragon said viciously, looking mockingly at Quinn’s phone before tossing it aside.
The henchmen understood their boss’s intention and started moving, pulling at Linda while two others approached Quinn with wicked smiles.
"You guys are really lawless; this is a society governed by law, and you will pay for your crimes!" Quinn said coldly, subtly moving closer to help Linda.
Dragon laughed: "Hahaha, listen, she’s talking to me about the law."
"Let me tell you, little girl, in Eastborough, I am the law."
Dragon’s face shook with his laughter, and he gestured for his henchmen to grab Quinn.
Cameron Grant arrived just in time, pulling Quinn behind him and saying coldly: "Don’t touch her."
Then came a scream as the guy at the front clutched his stomach and fell to his knees.
Cameron’s eyes were sharp like knives, showing none of his usual gentleness and fragility.
Dragon was intimidated by Cameron’s chilling demeanor. After hesitating, seeing Cameron was slimmer, he regained his bravado.
"Who is this punk?" Dragon started, but before he could act, he suddenly screamed.
Cameron shielded Quinn, his gentle eyes now grim, and his raised foot had just come down.
"Get lost!" Cameron’s voice was icy and void of warmth; he was poised to break Dragon’s leg when Quinn gently held him back.
The henchmen holding Linda were stunned by Dragon being hit. It took them some time to react, then they let go of Linda to help Dragon.
Following Dragon for so many years, it was the first time they saw him get hit.
Linda quickly adjusted her clothes, shrinking back defensively.
Her eyes moved from Dragon to Quinn, hugging herself tightly, eyes apologetic.
"Hello, I’d like to report a crime, we’re at..." Quinn stood behind Cameron, using his phone to clearly report their location.
"Dragon, are you okay? We’ll get revenge for you!" The henchmen looked at Cameron with resentment as they helped Dragon.
Dragon struggled in pain, wiping blood from his mouth, glaring at Cameron but was unnerved by his coldness.
"Damn it, let’s go. We’ll settle this next time." Dragon glared at the slow-rising Linda one last time before leaving with his men, the pain forcing him to give up for now.
As they left, Dragon’s eyes were filled with ominous threats and malice directed at Linda.
"Are you alright? Quickly, get up, are you hurt?" Quinn rushed over to help Linda as they all left. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ novelFire.net
The floor was covered in sharp glass shards, and Quinn’s footsteps crunched as she walked.
"Thank you, thank you, I’m alright. You don’t need to help me; I might have glass on me, be careful not to cut yourself." Linda brushed her hand on her clothes, quickly pulling away from Quinn, looking panicked and frightened.
Linda stood and dusted her clothes, gratefully bowing to Quinn and Cameron.
She thought Quinn would abandon her in fear and escape.
If Quinn had left, she’d be completely helpless.
"Thank you for saving me today, otherwise the outcome would have been disastrous." Linda smiled bitterly, surveying the room, biting her lip with tears glistening in her eyes.
Quinn looked at the shattered TV, mirror, and a pile of makeup supplies, feeling a pang of sympathy for Linda.
These are a makeup artist’s lifeline.
"If you really want to thank me, you should help me clear my name alongside Gabriel Zane."
"You were the only witness in the dressing room that day." Quinn looked at Linda seriously, her tone grave.
Linda was picking up intact makeup items, and her hand jerked.
A beautiful lipstick fell to the ground.
"I might... not be able to..." Linda kept her eyes down, maintaining her position, unwilling to meet Quinn’s gaze.
Why is Linda reacting this way?
"Not able?" Quinn’s voice raised, a flicker of complexity and doubt in her eyes.
"Not unable, but I might not be of help now. I saw nothing that day." Linda cautiously picked up the lipstick, putting it on the damaged table, never meeting Quinn’s eyes.
