Chapter 322: Chapter 322
"I’ve heard rumors about Savannah being able to cook, but I always thought it was a joke. I remember she cooked for my brother once and nearly set the kitchen on fire." Nina Sinclair touched the plate with her fingertips as if to confirm the dish in front of her was real.
"I remember her telling me about it, and she cried her heart out."
"I feel like ever since she came back, Savannah has changed completely; I can barely recognize her now." Xenia Monroe rested her chin on her hand, gazing thoughtfully toward the kitchen.
"Hmm, yeah, I’ve felt that way too lately..." Nina nodded, her eyes intently on Xenia.
At this moment, the sound of the door opening came from the hall, and Nina blinked and quickly got up.
"Brother, you’re back?" Nina approached, greeting him as usual.
"Hmm, has Savannah returned?" The man removed his coat, speaking in a flat tone.
"Uh... Little Sis-in-law, she’s in the kitchen making dinner." Nina pointed in the direction of the kitchen, carefully observing her brother’s expression, fearing he might be angry.
After all, when Savannah nearly burned down the kitchen back then, her brother’s face turned black with rage.
"Oh?" Elias Sinclair paused slightly, raising an eyebrow, a peculiar glint flashing through his eyes, but it quickly returned to his usual calm demeanor.
Elias directly bypassed Nina and headed toward the kitchen.
As soon as he reached the kitchen, the man was momentarily stunned.
Quinn Lockwood stood wearing a floral apron, her long hair casually tied up, sleeves rolled high exposing arms as delicate as snow.
Picking up a carved knife from the rack, Quinn’s expression was focused and serious, transforming an apple into a cute rabbit shape within a minute.
Feeling someone gaze at her, Quinn immediately raised her head to meet Elias’s unexpectedly wide, amazed eyes.
"You’re back? Perfect, we can start dinner." Quinn washed her hands and picked up the fruit platter, heading towards the dining area.
"What’s wrong? Come eat." Seeing Elias not following immediately, Quinn turned back to inquire.
The man’s gaze fell on the plate in Quinn’s hands, then on the apron she wore, as deep and unfathomable as a well.
The three of them sat at the dining table, staring at the array of dishes without saying a word.
"Um, though everyone has met already, I should introduce her; this is Xenia Monroe, my close friend." Quinn straightened up, introducing Sierra with a formal demeanor.
Quinn initially thought Elias might be unhappy that she brought Xenia home without telling him, but to her surprise, the man’s expression stayed the same, even greeting Xenia.
"Yes, I know." Elias nodded at Xenia to acknowledge her.
"Sorry for coming so late. I’ll leave after chatting with Savannah; I won’t disturb for too long." Xenia felt nervous seeing Elias being so polite.
In her impression, this cold-faced man would never be so courteous to a woman he’d only met a few times or let her dine at his place.
Hearing Xenia say she’d be leaving soon, Quinn paused her hand that was picking a dish, and said: "Leaving? You’re going home?"
"You heartless friend, I made an entire table of dishes for you, and you plan to leave after finishing them!"
"I still have many things to talk to you about. You’re not allowed to leave tonight; you’ll sleep over with me."
Quinn pouted slightly, clearly annoyed at Xenia planning to head home.
Elias examined the delicious dishes on the table, remembering Quinn making them specifically for Xenia, and his narrow eyes squinted angrily.
However, when he saw Quinn serving a bowl of soup to Xenia, his expression darkened immediately.
Elias picked up the empty bowl in front of him, spooned some soup, and drank it straightforwardly.
Quinn blinked at Elias, feeling something was off with him.
Maybe it’s work-related matters he has to deal with.
Quinn thought to herself, not bothering Elias, enthusiastically serving dishes to Xenia to praise her culinary skills.
Meanwhile, at the outskirts of Sinclair Manor, a tall man wrapped in a thick coat stood at the intersection for a long time.
Since Quinn and Xenia chatted away most of the night, they slept until the sun was high in the sky the next day.
Whereas Boss Sinclair was at the office as usual, bright and early.
"It’s you, you homewrecker, pretty boy."
As Elias walked into the company lobby, a man’s rough, shouting voice echoed from behind.
But before the man could curse a second time, several bodyguards rushed forward and restrained him.
"Let go of me, you pretty boy. Don’t think just because you’re good-looking and rich, you can meddle in other people’s relationships. Xenia Monroe is my woman; you better not try anything with her." The man raised his head, struggling while loudly cursing Elias. Follow current novᴇls on ⓝovelFire.net
This man was none other than Leo Hansen, who had followed Quinn and Xenia to Sinclair Manor last night.
Afraid of Mikael, Leo didn’t dare to openly confront Xenia near the set, opting instead to shadow them after they left.
After entering the villa district, Leo saw the area was sparsely populated and intended to speed up to intercept them but watched them enter a luxurious estate.
Leo assumed the estate belonged to Xenia’s family, knowing she was a corporate heir.
Thinking he could corner Xenia at her doorstep in the future, Leo’s mood improved significantly.
But just as Leo was about to leave, Elias drove a multi-million-dollar luxury car into the estate.
Leo’s expression changed instantly, clenching his fists till his joints popped loudly, waiting outside the estate until this morning and following Elias to the company.
"You’re really bold." Elias glanced at Leo, ice forming in his gaze, frighteningly cold.
Facing Elias’s chilling eyes, Leo felt a thread of fear.
"You... You were the one who interfered first." Leo feigned bravery, continuing to accuse Elias, but failing, swallowing his unfinished words.
"Far away." The man cast a cold glance at Leo, his brow furrowed with uncontrollable annoyance.
