Chapter 313: Chapter 313
"I’m sorry..." Joyce Kramer looked up, apologetically glancing at the person opposite her.
However, the moment she saw who she had bumped into, her expression suddenly turned cold: "Savannah Lowell?"
Quinn Lockwood was taken aback, and amidst her surprise, she let out a deep sigh in her heart: What you fear most always seems to happen; while the person himself didn’t show up, the secretary did.
"Hmm, good morning." Quinn Lockwood forced a smile, politely greeting Joyce Kramer.
Even though she didn’t want to see anyone from The Sinclair Group at the moment, at least she had to maintain basic politeness.
After greeting her, Quinn Lockwood didn’t wait for Joyce Kramer to speak before quickly trying to leave, afraid she would bring up the endorsement issue.
"Savannah Lowell, I haven’t finished speaking."
"I came here to discuss the endorsement deal with you. Even if you don’t want to take it, you shouldn’t be so rude, right?" Joyce Kramer turned, shaking the document in her hand at Quinn Lockwood, with a cold look on her face, clearly dissatisfied with this prima donna celebrity in front of her.
Quinn Lockwood stopped in her tracks, her face suddenly turning serious: "No, you’re mistaken, it’s not that I don’t want the endorsement; it’s that I absolutely won’t take it."
"My daily schedule is completely packed; there’s absolutely no room for a big project from the Sinclair Group."
Quinn Lockwood knew this Secretary Kramer never looked favorably upon her.
Originally, she had planned to avoid much conversation with her, but she didn’t expect the other party to keep making veiled and overt sarcastic remarks.
Quinn Lockwood couldn’t tolerate such unreasonable accusations and sarcasm.
"Savannah Lowell, just because you have a bit of fame, don’t think you’re some big shot. Compared to those queen actresses, you’re still far behind." Joyce Kramer’s face dropped.
Since Joyce Kramer started working at The Sinclair Group, she had never seen anyone refuse to collaborate with them.
Everyone knew that even those superstar-level icons supported collaboration with The Sinclair Group and would always be in their best state for it.
And here was Quinn Lockwood, just a relatively upcoming figure, not sure where her arrogance came from.
"You’re right." Quinn Lockwood nodded, seemingly accepting Joyce Kramer’s criticism sincerely.
"I know my abilities and status are limited; I don’t want to affect your group’s new product sales because of me, so it’s better to pass on this endorsement. It’s best for both you and me." Quinn Lockwood shrugged, looking as if she was genuinely considering The Sinclair Group’s interest.
Upon hearing this, Joyce Kramer’s gentle face couldn’t help but darken; she tightened her grip on the folder, as if trying hard to suppress the anger within her.
"Savannah Lowell, I’m asking you one last time, are you going to do the couple’s ring ad or not?"
This question was effectively a setup for Joyce Kramer’s plan to report on Quinn Lockwood later.
After all, she had already visited Quinn Lockwood and asked whether she would take the ad or not. As long as she now answered ’no,’ it would prove their communication had failed.
Ultimately, it was Quinn Lockwood who initially disrespected both her and The Sinclair Group. Even if Elias Sinclair’s task wasn’t completed, it wouldn’t be Joyce Kramer’s fault.
"Well... it’s not entirely impossible to take this endorsement." Quinn Lockwood rolled her eyes, gently pursing her pink lips, seriously contemplating something.
"Although the shooting requirements and processes are somewhat cumbersome, the price your company offers is quite favorable."
"How about this, if you beg me, I’ll immediately start preparing for the shoot." Quinn Lockwood looked at Joyce Kramer with a half-smile, a hint of an inscrutable gleam flashing in her clear eyes.
Was this Secretary Kramer underestimating her intelligence? Clearly, she didn’t genuinely want her to endorse the product but was instead setting up traps to make her explicitly refuse.
Tsk tsk tsk, Quinn Lockwood couldn’t help but secretly marvel at her intelligence.
Impressive, truly impressive.
Quinn Lockwood crossed her arms, looking at Joyce Kramer, waiting for her response.
"Ridiculous." She gritted her teeth, forcing out these two words, an overwhelming sense of humiliation-induced anger surged from within Joyce Kramer.
Cheap person, not even recognizing her own status.
Other than that kingly and aloof man, Joyce Kramer certainly couldn’t bow down to anyone.
Suppressing a strong sense of anger inside, Joyce Kramer returned to the company.
"Mr. Sinclair, I went to Starlight Media today, but I couldn’t see Savannah Lowell at all." Joyce Kramer lowered her eyes a little, her demeanor seeming somewhat fatigued.
The man sitting in the boss’s chair heard this, furrowing his brow almost imperceptibly, shifting his gaze from the computer screen to Joyce Kramer.
"Hmm?" Elias Sinclair’s tone was somewhat icy, clearly discontent with Joyce Kramer’s report.
Joyce Kramer took a deep breath through her nose, her lips parted slightly before she gently pursed them again. After pausing for a moment, she said: "Sir, I went to Starlight Media very early to invite Miss Lowell today, but... but her manager said Miss Lowell wasn’t there. It seems like... her schedule has been too full lately, and she doesn’t want to take on any additional engagements."
"I know Miss Lowell is someone you personally selected as the spokesperson, so I waited there since morning until now, but Miss Lowell never showed up, as if she was deliberately avoiding me."
Joyce Kramer’s face maintained its usual gentle expression, but the once clear eyes carried an indescribable complexity.
The man’s fingers lightly tapped the table, and his handsome, artwork-like brows and eyes immediately frosted over: "I issued a command for Savannah Lowell to endorse the product."
"Complete this task and return to work at the company." Elias Sinclair lifted his gaze to sweep over Joyce Kramer.
Although she disguised it well, the man captured the fleeting rigid expression on her face.
The man’s fox-like eyes narrowed slightly, his sharp gaze landing on Joyce Kramer.
Elias Sinclair disliked most when his subordinates schemed in front of him.
If not for their school affiliation, Elias Sinclair would have definitely sent her back to the training department to learn the company’s rules and regulations properly.
"But sir, if I’m not at the company, those files..." Joyce Kramer could no longer control her emotions, taking a step forward, looking at Elias Sinclair in disbelief, hoping he would change his decision.
"Kevin will handle those files in your absence; just focus on completing the task I assigned you." Elias Sinclair’s tone was cold, evidently impatient.
Seeing that Elias Sinclair made up his mind, Joyce Kramer felt as if she was suddenly placed in an ice cellar.
At this point, any further struggle would be futile. If Mr. Sinclair noticed any flaws, based on his operating style, it was likely he would never allow her to be involved in anything related to Quinn Lockwood again.
