Chapter 303: Chapter 303
After returning home, Quinn Lockwood chatted briefly with Nina Sinclair before heading to her room to tidy up.
Lying comfortably in the bathtub soaking, Quinn Lockwood subconsciously reached up to touch the necklace on her neck.
What kind of gift should she return to Elias Sinclair?
A gift that could match it in price was certainly out of the question.
According to the usual market price, the jewelry in the idor series costs around seven figures, let alone something personally conceived by the boss!
If she doesn’t consider the price, then she can only consider the sentiment.
Thinking of what Elias Sinclair had just mentioned about the scarf in the car, Quinn Lockwood sat up at once.
Snapping her fingers crisply, Quinn Lockwood nodded with satisfaction.
Just give him the scarf!
Anyway... the scarf was originally meant for Elias Sinclair.
Actually, Quinn Lockwood hadn’t initially planned to knit a scarf for Boss Sinclair.
But as she explained the knitting techniques and the sentiments the scarf represented to Nina Sinclair, images of Elias Sinclair kept flooding into her mind. Even with every stitch and thread crocheted, she was so attentive and careful, as if she wanted to pour all her heart and emotions into it.
Hurriedly getting out of the tub, Quinn Lockwood dried herself off and slipped into her nightgown, then took the gift bag containing the scarf out of the cupboard.
Walking to the neighboring room, she knocked on the door, not quite sure if Elias Sinclair was in the room.
Quinn Lockwood curved her lips, intending to give Elias Sinclair a bright smile after entering.
After all, when giving someone a gift, you can’t walk in with a cold face, right?
As she opened the door, half of Quinn Lockwood’s smile awkwardly froze on her face.
"Ah! I didn’t see anything!" Quinn Lockwood stared blankly, wide-eyed at the man in the room, stunned for a few seconds by the scene in front of her, then raised the gift bag in her hand to cover her eyes.
"I... I’m sorry." Quinn Lockwood stepped back, immediately shutting her eyes tightly.
The sexy and firm upper body of the man kept replaying in her mind; every muscle on his chest and abdomen seemed to be magnified, each frequency and detail of the rise and fall with his breathing were just so alluring and sturdy.
"Sister-in-law, what’s wrong?" Nina Sinclair, planning to go back to rest, was quickly running upstairs.
When she saw Quinn Lockwood covering her face standing outside Elias Sinclair’s room, and her brother’s tall shadow being cast from the room, Nina Sinclair immediately halted and turned back.
"Ah... if nothing’s wrong, I’ll go back and rest, bye-bye."
"Hey, Nina you..." Quinn Lockwood swallowed hard, wanting to use Nina as an excuse to escape, but unexpectedly, like she had seen something terrifying, Nina Sinclair disappeared in a flash.
In quick succession, Quinn Lockwood suddenly felt a lightness in front of her as Elias Sinclair took the gift bag from her face. Follow current novels on novel•fire.net
"What is this?" The man slightly curled his lips, his eyes carrying a hint of laughter.
"It’s for you." Quinn Lockwood wanted to grab the bag back but once again got a good view of the man’s firm and sensual physique, quickly covered her eyes, and her face turned crimson all at once.
Though it was incredibly embarrassing, Quinn Lockwood had to admit, this guy’s body was really something!
"What’s there to be afraid of?" Elias Sinclair pulled Quinn Lockwood’s arm into his embrace, closing the door with a bang.
The man had just come out of the bathroom, bringing a hint of dampness on his body.
A familiar, sharp aura wrapped Quinn Lockwood into layers. Feeling her cheek almost unimpededly resting on Elias Sinclair’s chest, Quinn Lockwood felt a little dizzy.
It was like all her senses were being drained away, and she couldn’t even move. She could even hear every beat of Elias Sinclair’s heart distinctly.
Thump, thump, full of strength.
"I really like your gift, but I’ll open it later to appreciate it," Elias Sinclair set the gift bag on the table with one hand, gently stroking Quinn Lockwood’s hair with the other.
"Release me, put on some clothes." Quinn Lockwood lifted her hand to push Elias Sinclair’s shoulder but he locked both her wrists with a gentle yet firm grip.
"You’ve seen it so many times, why aren’t you used to it?" Gently stroking Quinn Lockwood’s cheek, the man took a slow step forward, intimidating Quinn Lockwood.
Quinn Lockwood didn’t know where to look, so she turned her head, squinting her eyes, taking a step back.
Then she suddenly felt a chill at her back as Elias Sinclair pressed her against the door.
"W-What are you doing?" Quinn Lockwood swallowed, her hands being raised above her head and firmly held by Elias Sinclair.
A hint of mischievousness flashed in the man’s eyes, curling his lips as he leaned close to Quinn Lockwood’s ear and whispered, "Whatever you want."
The warm breath spilled onto her earlobe, making Quinn Lockwood shiver as if her body had become weak.
"Y-You rogue." Quinn Lockwood’s heart felt like it was going to leap out, her face already as red as a ripe cherry.
Elias Sinclair watched Quinn Lockwood with great interest, finding her reaction utterly amusing.
Helpless yet resisting, her responses were so slow, so very adorable.
"Don’t you know we’re a legally married couple? So no matter what I do, it’s all normal behavior." The man’s fingertips lightly traced over the woman’s white, slender neck, filled with tenderness and affection.
As his gaze fell on Quinn Lockwood’s slightly reddened lips from nervous biting, his Adam’s apple bobbed unnaturally. Then, he leaned down, slowly closing the distance between their lips.
Quinn Lockwood swallowed hard. Seeing Elias Sinclair’s handsome face drawing near, she straightened up, quickly shaking off his hand.
"I-I’ve delivered the gift, so I’ll go now, g-goodbye." Quinn Lockwood promptly bowed her head, gave Elias Sinclair a gentle shove, opened the door, and left hurriedly, face flushed.
Elias Sinclair tightly pursed his thin lips, standing in place. Two seconds later, he chuckled lightly.
He had intended to see her interesting reaction, but nearly lost control himself.
Turning around, he picked up the gift bag from the table, tenderly rubbing the scarf inside.
And after Quinn Lockwood ran back to her room, her face blushing, she stood stupefied by the door for a long time.
Why didn’t she resist? And why did she feel such panic and helplessness?
Raising her hand to cover her cheeks, Quinn Lockwood shook her head vigorously, trying to shake off all those seductive thoughts of Elias Sinclair.
