Chapter 300: Chapter 300
"The director said that films must have such artistically designed elements. Though Mia Jacobs is often marginalized and bullied, she is inherently strong and stubborn, and she yearns for the sunlight."
"The segment just shown was directed by Quentin Woods. Ariana, I know you’re famous and have your own acting methods, but..." Quinn Lockwood bit her lip, hesitating to speak further.
Ariana Lynch heard the implication in Quinn Lockwood’s words, suggesting she was showing off her knowledge and not respecting Quentin Woods, which made her expression suddenly stiffen.
"Director Woods, I... didn’t mean it that way. I didn’t know it was your idea; I was just making a suggestion."
Director Woods looked at the footage just shot on the camera, his expression somewhat stern.
Adjusting the camera for filming, Director Woods glanced at Ariana Lynch, speaking in a slightly stern tone: "There’s nothing wrong with giving opinions, but it depends on timing and setting."
"Ariana Lynch, your task for today is done, so you can head back now." Director Woods looked down at the script in his hand with the segments just filmed.
"Savannah, your makeup is smudged from crying. Go fix it." Just as Director Woods was about to tell Quinn Lockwood to prepare for the next shoot, he noticed her tear-stained eyes.
"I... I’ll leave first, thank you." Seeing the director’s attitude towards both of them change so quickly, a peculiar look flashed in Ariana Lynch’s eyes. Read full story at novel⁂fire.net
Turning to leave the studio, just as she was about to step out, Ariana Lynch slowly turned her head, and when her gaze fell on Quinn Lockwood, a sinister and eerie glint shot out.
Unsure if it affected her mood, Quinn Lockwood found herself struggling to get into character during the emotional scenes with Mikael after filming the previous segment.
"Sorry, sorry, I lost focus again." Quinn Lockwood made a gesture of apology to Mikael and the director, feeling very guilty inside.
Mikael shook his head, gently patting Quinn Lockwood’s shoulder to try to help her relax.
"Don’t pressure yourself too much; you’ve been doing great."
Quinn Lockwood pressed her lips tightly together, clearly dissatisfied with her own performance.
Under the guidance and adjustment of Director Woods and the acting coach, the emotional scene was finally completed to satisfaction after several takes.
For some reason, Quinn Lockwood always had a strange feeling during the intimate or suggestive scenes with Mikael.
It felt like... like she was being unfaithful.
She forcefully shook her head, harshly criticizing herself in her mind: Damn, what a bunch of nonsense, you’re an actor for crying out loud!
The sun had long set by the time Quinn Lockwood stepped out of the set.
At this moment, the night had completely fallen, with a few sparse stars dotting the dark sky, adding a touch of loneliness.
Standing at the entrance of the set, Quinn Lockwood shivered as a cold breeze blew past.
"Miss Angel, let me escort you home. It’s too late for you to be going alone." Mikael followed Quinn Lockwood, taking off his jacket to drape it over her.
Quinn Lockwood turned around and nearly bumped into Mikael’s chest.
Seeing that he was about to put the jacket on her, she quickly stepped back a few paces to keep some distance from him.
"Thank you, but no need. I still need to go to the agency, so don’t trouble yourself."
"I have to go; my agent is still waiting for me. See you tomorrow." She nodded slightly at Mikael and waved softly before turning to leave.
Mikael took a step forward, wanting to call out to Quinn Lockwood, but noticed she was in a hurry.
He felt that she seemed to be resisting him just now?
But... was she headed in the wrong direction? Or did he get the information wrong?
Standing there watching the direction Quinn Lockwood headed in, Mikael’s sharp eyebrows furrowed slightly in puzzlement.
The night wind was blowing rather strongly, thick clouds covered the sky, and there seemed to be a faint mist, adding an eerie atmosphere to the deep night.
Quinn Lockwood hugged her arms as she walked quickly, eager to flag down a cab, yet she couldn’t see a single one.
The way back to The Sinclair Family’s house was indeed too far, and there wasn’t even a streetlight nearby, much less anyone around.
Quinn Lockwood regretted not driving today.
Whether it was the wind’s fault or her own sensitivity, Quinn Lockwood always felt there was a rustling sound behind her.
Hugging her arms tighter, Quinn Lockwood quickly tucked her head into her collar and sped up her pace.
"Oh, sorry." As she turned the corner, Quinn Lockwood bumped heavily into a solid chest.
The man she collided with lowered his gaze, his expression cold for a moment before it eased.
"Have you become so enthusiastic after just one day apart?" The man’s lips curved into a faint smile, a hint of teasing in his tone.
Recognizing the familiar voice, Quinn Lockwood quickly looked up, her eyes wide open.
"Elias Sinclair? What are you doing here?" Though somewhat unbelieving of her eyes, Quinn Lockwood’s tightly folded arms loosened.
"I’m here to find someone." Elias Sinclair’s voice was calm as water, his gaze landing on Quinn Lockwood’s face.
"Oh, I see, then go ahead." A hint of disappointment flashed in Quinn Lockwood’s eyes but quickly returned to normal.
So he was... here for someone else.
Unconsciously pursing her lips, Quinn Lockwood lowered her gaze, feeling a tinge of bitterness in her heart.
Just as she took a step to leave, a pair of warm and strong hands domineeringly pulled her back.
"I’ve found them now, let’s go." The man’s hands wrapped around Quinn Lockwood’s cold ones as if he wanted to pass his warmth to her.
Quinn Lockwood was somewhat stunned, only coming back to her senses after Elias Sinclair gently tugged her.
She quietly looked up at the man beside her, unable to describe Elias Sinclair’s expression now.
All she felt was that he made her feel particularly secure and warm at the moment.
As the woman beside him looked away, the smile on Elias Sinclair’s lips deepened.
Reaching the parking lot outside the alley, Elias Sinclair opened the car door for Quinn Lockwood.
"So, why did you come to the set to find me today? Did something happen?" Quinn Lockwood asked as she fastened her seatbelt.
The man started the car, turning on the warm air of the heater, and then said, "I heard from Nina Sinclair that you didn’t drive today, and since it was so late without any word from you, I came to check on you."
"So, you came specifically to pick me up?" Quinn Lockwood looked at Elias Sinclair, emphasizing the word "specifically."
"Hmm, you could say that." Elias Sinclair’s gaze remained on the road ahead, his tone still calm.
