Chapter 298: Chapter 298

"Savannah, does Dylan have any rumored girlfriends inside or outside the industry, or is there a real girlfriend secretly protected?"

Quinn Lockwood glanced at Xenia Monroe’s message, a flash of light crossed her eyes before she replied, "No real girlfriend, but there is one rumored girlfriend."

"Me." Quinn quickly typed out those two words.

She could feel the special attention Dylan had towards Xenia and Xenia’s affection for Dylan.

One is elegant and refined, the other is lively and bright.

They are just too suitable!

"Get outta here, you’re a married woman, you don’t count." Xenia responded with a dark face, rolling her eyes dramatically over the screen at Quinn.

Quinn laughed out loud, she could imagine Xenia’s current expression, it must be particularly funny.

Xenia, upon reading this reply, chuckled secretly to herself while browsing on her phone, then she opened a webpage to check Dylan’s information and thoroughly went through his X.

The next day, Quinn finished tidying up and planned to go downstairs for breakfast before heading to the set to film, but when she saw a man in a high-end black suit on the sofa in the hall, she was startled and almost missed a step.

"Oh my gosh, scared me to death." Quinn veered sideways, quickly grabbing onto the handrail.

The servant waiting at the stairway rushed up in fright to help Quinn down.

"It’s okay, it’s okay, you go about your business." Quinn waved her hand, indicating she didn’t need assistance going down.

Seeing Elias Sinclair’s cold gaze landing on her, Quinn couldn’t help but swallow hard.

This guy usually should have gone to the company by this time, what’s wrong today, did she unknowingly anger him again?

The man merely cast a brief glance at Quinn when she came down before walking sternly to the dining table.

Quinn pouted and didn’t bother with Elias, choosing instead to walk towards the opposite side where Elias was seated.

"Hey sis-in-law, why are you sitting so far? I have to crane my neck to talk to you." Nina Sinclair noticed the awkward atmosphere between them and promptly pulled out the chair beside Elias, beckoning Quinn to sit.

"Bring the tableware over here." She gestured to the servants to set the plates properly.

With an annoyed look, Quinn glanced at Nina, saw her sitting next door grinning at her, and sighed helplessly.

Really, she couldn’t tell whose side this girl was on.

Without any visible emotion, Quinn walked over and sat next to Elias, without glancing at him even once.

Hmph, clearly it’s him being unreasonable, she definitely wouldn’t speak first.

Quinn bit into her sandwich aggressively, as if venting her frustration on the food itself.

During the awkward silence among the three, Quinn’s phone vibrated.

An unfamiliar number, but judging by the timing, it could only be the agency or the film crew calling.

Quinn took a sip of coffee, swallowed the sandwich, and answered the phone. Updates are released by novelfire.net

"Good morning, Miss Angel. Are you ready to go to the set? I’m just about to head out, where do you live? I’ll pick you up." A serene, fluid voice flowed through the phone.

Quinn nearly dropped her phone from the shock.

"Well, I... I’ve already left home, I’ll be at the set soon." Quinn switched the phone to the ear away from Elias and quickly replied.

"Oh, is that so? Missing the chance to be with the beautiful Miss Angel makes me quite disappointed."

"Guess I’ll have to wait then, I’ll hurry on my way." Mikael’s tone dipped slightly before quickly becoming lighthearted again.

"Hmph." Elias’s soft, cold snort sounded from the side.

Quinn glanced at Elias, seeing him with a poker face, a sense of foreboding arising within her.

"Okay, see you later." She said softly, downed a large gulp of coffee, and stood up to leave.

"Stop." A loud slap on the table and a voice filled with anger came from behind.

Quinn froze in her escape stance, swallowing hard.

"Savannah Lowell, did you forget your identity?" Elias stood with furrowed brows in front of Quinn.

"You’re a married woman; it’s best not to involve with others ambiguously." The man lowered his head to Quinn’s ear, his tone sinister and angry.

Feeling a warm, sharp breath at her ear, Quinn shivered, goosebumps all over.

Quickly stepping back to dodge Elias’s proximity, Quinn avoided his look, as if disregarding his words entirely.

"I’m talking to you, look into my eyes." Seeing Quinn avoid him, a layer of frost covered Elias’s face instantly, his slender hand lifted her chin, forcing her eyes on him.

"Elias Sinclair, isn’t this a bit overbearing?" Quinn raised her hand to knock Elias’s hand off, but he swiftly grabbed it with his other hand.

"Do not test my limits, or don’t blame me for making them unable to continue in the entertainment industry." Coldly stated Elias, then released Quinn, took the coat from the servant, and left directly.

Quinn was so angry she nearly exploded, stomping her foot passionately while breathing deeply to calm down.

"Sis-in-law, don’t be mad, brother copes impulsively only because he cares a lot about you; have you ever seen him get so angry?" Nina quickly comforted after Elias left.

It wasn’t Nina being wise after the fact, but her brother’s anger was truly terrifying, let alone in issues between brother and sis-in-law, she really couldn’t interfere.

"Oh please, is he ever not angry?" Quinn pouted, sitting heavily on the chair.

"Sis-in-law, when will you be giving that scarf... if it’s inconvenient for you, I can deliver it!" Nina inched closer to Quinn, testing the waters.

If mending their relationship through this scarf gesture worked, it’d be superb.

Quinn glared at Nina, knowing the girl was subtly trying to bring her and Elias closer.

"Not happening, it’s not going to anyone!" With the last bite of her sandwich gone, Quinn rose and headed to the film set.

Arriving at the set, Quinn felt the atmosphere somewhat off.

After makeup, heading to the filming studio, stumbling upon a familiar figure, Quinn’s face fell.

Why is Ariana Lynch here?

"Miss Savannah Lowell, let me introduce you. This is the film’s special guest actress Ariana Lynch, Director Quentin Woods asked me to inform you to familiarize yourself with the part you’ll be working on together shortly." The assistant approached, politely introducing to Quinn.

Though she really didn’t wish to work with Ariana, Quinn familiarized herself and greeted Ariana cordially, "Never expected to work with you again, Ariana."

"Yeah, I didn’t expect you’d be Director Quentin Woods’s lead actress either."

"You’ve just started, probably don’t know, but Director Quentin Woods is famously strict and demanding, the role criteria are high; it’s still uncertain if Sister Savannah can complete this film smoothly." Arms crossed, Ariana smirked mockingly at Quinn, delivering her lines in a sarcastic tone.
