Chapter 292: Chapter 292
"If you’re reluctant to spend money, I’ll spend it for you. You know, if a woman doesn’t spend her man’s money, there will certainly be other women spending it instead..." Nina Sinclair lifted the bags in her hand, grinned at Quinn Lockwood, and said with a sarcastic tone.
However, Nina felt a bit strange. Savannah Lowell used to be quite extravagant. The amount of money she spent in one go was way more than Nina’s several times over. Now she’s being so frugal, could it be because... something went wrong with Cloudfall Group?
That’s absolutely impossible.
As for other possibilities, Nina wracked her brains but couldn’t think of anything, except that Quinn Lockwood might be feeling sorry for her brother’s hard work.
Quinn Lockwood felt unsettled, being scrutinized by Nina’s gaze, but recalling what this girl just said, she slowly put on a serious face.
"Savannah, I’m quite capable of earning money, you know. I have no interest in spending other people’s money." Quinn shot a look at Nina, then swung her purse and walked ahead.
Just then, surprised exclamations came from not far ahead. Quinn looked up and saw a tall, blonde man sprinting towards her like a hundred-meter runner.
Quinn’s first reaction was to turn and pull Nina away, but when she turned, she found Nina standing in front of a luxury boutique, intending to call Quinn over.
"Miss, please get out of the way." Before Quinn turned her head, a voice speaking fluent American English came urgently from ahead.
Then came the sound of crashing, and all the shopping bags in Quinn’s hands fell to the ground as she was knocked over.
The blonde man immediately stopped, a look of astonishment flashed in his eyes when he saw Quinn’s face, but it was quickly replaced by apology.
The man was about to help Quinn up, but then saw several people in black uniforms catching up. Official source ıs ɴovelfire.net
"Sorry." The man hesitated for a moment, then quickly bowed to Quinn and ran off like he was fleeing.
"Hey sis-in-law, are you alright?" Nina quickly ran over to help Quinn up, glaring several times at the departing man.
"I’m fine, just... my butt hurts." Quinn stood up staggering, her face twisted as she rubbed her sore behind.
Good thing she fell sitting down; if she landed face down or on her knees, the pain would be unbearable.
Clenching her teeth in frustration, Quinn almost cried internally. Her butt hurt so much, and she couldn’t even rub it in public!
After walking slowly for a few steps, Quinn finally felt the pain ease a bit. She and Nina reached the vicinity of the Burberry boutique in the commercial street, where a crowd had gathered.
"What’s with all the people over there?" Nina stretched her neck to look towards the crowd but couldn’t see anything.
Curiously walking over there, Nina stopped after a few steps.
"What’s wrong?" Quinn asked, puzzled by Nina’s suddenly sullen expression.
"Oh, it’s a crowd taking pictures with Ariana Lynch. I don’t like her at all, won’t bother going over, it’s dull." Nina pursed her lips, looking disdainfully in the crowd’s direction.
Quinn tilted her head in confusion.
To her knowledge, Nina and Ariana Lynch didn’t really have any interactions, they barely knew each other. Yet seeing Nina, her dislike for Ariana seemed as intense as it was for Savannah Lowell before.
"Nina, why don’t you like her?" Quinn glanced over at Ariana Lynch, then asked.
Nina rolled her eyes at Ariana’s direction, then said as she walked away, "A woman’s intuition."
"And I’ve seen some of her interviews and shows; she’s just too fake, a total ’white lotus’ and ’green tea bitch,’ seems to have deep scheming too."
I must say, though Nina is often a bit naive and silly, in judging people, Quinn greatly admires her instinct.
"Hey, is that Savannah Lowell? Didn’t expect to see Savannah Lowell here." Came a female voice from within Ariana Lynch’s fan crowd.
"It really is! Wow, she looks even prettier and slimmer in person than on TV."
Fans who were lined up at the edge saw Quinn clearly, and rushed over with phones and notebooks.
"Hello, don’t push, be careful of your hands." Quinn originally wanted to turn and leave quickly, but seeing more and more fans gathering around her, she truly couldn’t escape. Otherwise, news of Savannah being haughty would spread swiftly.
At this moment, only three or four people were left standing by Ariana Lynch.
Ariana Lynch’s eyes revealed coldness as she looked at Quinn from nearby, quite frighteningly so. Acting in front of fans and passersby, she couldn’t lose her composure, thus she balled her fists, pretending to smile graciously.
With Nina’s help, Quinn took a photo with the fans present, and signed her name for each of them.
"Thank you all for your support. Let’s not block the way here, it might disrupt others." Quinn nodded in acknowledgment of the fans’ affection for her, then worriedly glanced at the sides of the road, which were almost completely blocked by fans.
"Come on, move on, now you have your photos and autographs, don’t give Savannah any trouble. Remember, we’re part of the first batch to enter the X fan group, hurry back and show off!" A fan at the front exclaimed, eyes sparkling with joy as they clutched Quinn’s autograph.
Due to the overwhelming number of fans wanting photos, Nina couldn’t take individual pictures with their phones, so she set up an X fan group, allowing the fans there to join.
"Right, we need to be sensible fans and not make things difficult for our idol."
Encouraged by a few rational fans, although reluctant, most dispersed gradually. Initially many came just to join the fuss, now they truly became fans of Savannah Lowell.
Not only is she rich and beautiful, she’s also gentle and kind, showing concern for her fans even when mobbed.
Just the autograph seekers alone numbered in the dozens. Any other celebrity would’ve ignored them, even gentle starlet Ariana Lynch only signed two or three times, just for show.
"Hey, Savannah, didn’t expect to bump into you here." After the fans left, Ariana Lynch gracefully strode over in high heels.
Her face bore a serene, virtuous look, with no sign of animosity towards Quinn whatsoever.
"Isn’t this Miss Nina Sinclair?"
"Hello, I’m Ariana Lynch from the Lockwood Group." Elegantly extending her hand, Ariana smiled sweetly.
