Chapter 263: Chapter 263
The man’s stern face seemed slightly pale; he merely glanced at Quinn Lockwood before strolling towards the car.
"Get in." Elias Sinclair opened the car door, his eyes as dark as the night sky.
Quinn, nodding absentmindedly, quickly got into the car. He didn’t want to upset the boss any further.
The man sat in the driver’s seat. Seeing Quinn nonchalantly fasten her seatbelt, a slight chill filled his eyes.
"Savannah Lowell." Elias’s cool voice, tinged with anger, echoed inside the car.
Quinn had just lifted her head; before she could respond, the man lifted her chin with his slender fingers and then gripped her neck.
The cool, slippery sensation on her lips made Quinn involuntarily shrink back, but the man held her even tighter.
She widened her eyes, wanting to ask questions, but the man took advantage of her open mouth and slid his tongue inside.
This was the first time Quinn had been kissed so aggressively; she stood stunned for quite a while. It wasn’t until her lips and tongue were being possessively licked, sending tingling sensations through her senses, that she snapped back to reality.
"Mmm, mmm." From living to her current reborn state, aside from Elias’s occasional ambush and her drunken unconscious kisses to him, Quinn had never been kissed before.
The man’s dominating kiss left Quinn, who didn’t know how to breathe properly during kissing, gasping for air, her face flushed. She promptly patted Elias’s back to indicate she was suffocating.
Looking at Quinn, red-faced and awkward in her kissing skills, Elias seemed somewhat satisfied. He raised an eyebrow, fondly caressing her chin before releasing her.
"Ahem, ahem." Quinn took deep breaths, clutching her chest as she instinctively covered her reddening cheeks. Her once peachy lips had turned crimson from his forceful kiss.
As Elias observed Quinn, whose eyes seemed misty with tears, he lightly pressed his tongue against his lips, savoring the lingering sweet and delicate taste.
"You... I..." Quinn, clutching her burning cheeks, looked at Elias in bewilderment.
The peculiar, tingling sensation was indescribable.
Quinn bit her lip, realizing she didn’t reject kissing him...
She recalled that even during her relationship with Jonah Hansen before she "died," she couldn’t accept anything more intimate than holding hands.
Every time Jonah cast his ardent, longing gaze upon her, Quinn felt a bit scared and instinctively wanted to shrink away and resist.
Elias noticed the woman in front of him was distracted, a hint of anger rising, but he quickly suppressed it and suddenly pulled the delicate woman into his arms.
"Thinking about someone else at a time , huh?" His hot breath mixed with a sharp aura whispered softly into her ear.
Quinn couldn’t help but tremble slightly, instinctively hiding her head in the crook of his neck.
"Why are you so hot?" Sensing the heat from Elias, Quinn quickly lifted her head and placed her hand on his forehead.
"You’re running a fever." Her elegant features knit together in concern as she worriedly looked at his handsome face.
Illuminated by the streetlight outside, Quinn noticed Elias’s face was slightly flushed, indicating a high fever.
"I’m fine, I won’t die." He gently ruffled her hair, his stiff expressions relaxing, showing a faint smile as he noticed her worry.
Concerned he might be too uncomfortable to drive, Quinn swapped places with Elias.
"Don’t worry, I’ll drive carefully." Sitting in the driver’s seat, Quinn fastened her seatbelt while assuring Elias.
"Mm, I trust you." He responded blandly, leaning back and wearily massaging his temple.
Seeing him , Quinn didn’t disturb him further. She drove steadily back to The Sinclair Residence, unlike her earlier reckless driving.
"Elias, we’re home." Gently tapping the man beside her, who had his eyes partly closed, Quinn reached out to touch his forehead again.
It seemed even hotter.
"Mm." Feeling the cool sensation on his forehead, he slowly opened his eyes to find Quinn, her face worriedly conflicted.
"Wait here, I’ll help you." Quinn quickly got out and went to the other side to open Elias’s car door.
Supporting Elias’s arm, she noticed his pace was slower than usual.
Entering the living room and changing shoes, Quinn turned to grab Elias, only to find his eyes a bit hazy and his body slightly swaying.
"How are you feeling? I’ll help you to the room and call Angus right away." Quinn held Elias, growing increasingly worried.
"No need, Angus is working on an experiment." His voice was raspier, his hand resting on her shoulder as he struggled to walk upstairs.
As soon as they opened the bedroom door, Quinn felt him swaying more violently. Her heart tightened with worry as she rushed to support Elias.
His hot breath brushed against her neck as he collapsed into her arms.
"Hey, Elias?" Quinn patted his back to wake him, but his increasingly heavier weight made her heart clench.
It took a great effort to drag Elias to the bed, and Quinn quickly dialed Elias’s private doctor and experiment professor, Angus.
"What? Mr. Sinclair has a fever? And fainted?" Angus’s British-accented voice was filled with shock and disbelief on the other end of the line. Googlᴇ search novᴇlfire.net
"Madam, I’m in the middle of an important experiment and can’t leave. However, since Mr. Sinclair caught a cold and the fever is a result, physical cooling and hydration should suffice. Here’s what to do..." While monitoring his experiment team’s actions, Angus gave detailed instructions to Quinn.
It’s not that he doesn’t care about Mr. Sinclair’s health, but the current experiment is one Mr. Sinclair values highly and has explicitly instructed not to fail.
Moreover, based on Madam’s previous description, Mr. Sinclair is feverish due to a cold and timely temperature reduction should suffice.
Quinn diligently noted down Angus’s instructions on cooling techniques and temperature monitoring times.
Heading downstairs for fever patches and a thermometer, Quinn hesitated seeing Elias’s crisp suit, unsure how to proceed.
