Chapter 261: Chapter 261

"Stay calm, stay calm." Quinn Lockwood patted Tiffany Young’s hand, then stood up to greet Cameron Grant.

"Bro... oh, Cameron, over here." Quinn Lockwood waved her hand, signaling Cameron Grant to come over.

"Savannah." Cameron Grant responded with a smile, but couldn’t help freezing slightly upon seeing Tiffany Young. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ novᴇlfire.net

"Cameron, I invited Tiffany along, you know her, right?" Seeing Cameron pause, Quinn Lockwood quickly explained.

"Yes, I know her, hello." Cameron Grant walked over to Quinn Lockwood, nodding politely to Tiffany Young.

"Hi, hello." Tiffany Young quickly stood up, tightly pressing her lips together, looking every bit the shy girl.

Cameron Grant slightly curved his lips, intending to sit beside Quinn Lockwood, but saw that the seat next to her was occupied with a bag and other belongings.

"Cameron, why don’t you sit opposite, it’s easier for us to talk that way." Quinn Lockwood pointed to the seat beside Tiffany Young, gently nudging Cameron Grant’s arm.

Cameron Grant’s eyes narrowed slightly, hesitating for just two seconds before nodding slightly and sitting beside Tiffany Young.

For some reason, he felt that Quinn Lockwood was acting strange today, but couldn’t pinpoint what was amiss.

Quinn Lockwood discreetly winked at Tiffany Young, who slightly pressed her lips together, indicating she understood.

"Cameron, what would you like to eat?" Tiffany Young picked up the menu, gently opened it, and handed it to Cameron Grant.

"Thank you, Savannah, you take a look first." Cameron Grant hesitated briefly, took the menu, then handed it to Quinn Lockwood.

"No need to show me the menu, I’m on a diet, just order me a salad." Quinn Lockwood waved her hand, quickly avoiding eye contact.

It seemed she needed to find an excuse to leave for a while, wondering how her brother could be so adept at business yet so clueless about matters of the heart!

"Cameron, what do you think of this set menu? It even comes with a small souvenir." Tiffany Young leaned closer to Cameron Grant, lightly tapping the menu with her nail-polished finger on a particular ’adore’ set meal.

Cameron Grant frowned, quickly shifting his body, his clear eyes filled with a hint of coldness.

"No need, I’ll just have a salad too." Cameron Grant looked up, glancing coldly at Tiffany Young, then glanced sideways at Quinn Lockwood, who was busy picking at her nails, a fleeting look of disappointment in his eyes.

Was this really her plan?

Did she so easily want to pair him with someone else?

Cameron’s eyes chilled slightly, placing the menu in front of Tiffany Young without giving her another glance.

Tiffany Young noticed the look Cameron Grant gave Quinn Lockwood, and angrily handed the menu back to the waiter, also ordering just a vegetable salad.

"Um, with just that, won’t you be hungry?" Quinn Lockwood sensed the atmosphere was off, quickly speaking up to break the tension.

Yet, neither of the two across from her responded.

Quinn Lockwood awkwardly forced a smile, just about to lower her head to continue fidgeting with her hands when she noticed Cameron Grant’s unusually cold expression.

She shivered slightly, quickly lowering her head, like a child afraid of being scolded by an older brother.

When the salads arrived, only Quinn Lockwood ate about two-thirds of hers as if nothing was wrong.

Cameron Grant only moved his chopsticks symbolically twice; once Quinn Lockwood finished eating, he prepared to leave.

"I have to head back to the company." Cameron Grant said coolly to Quinn Lockwood, then stood up and headed for the door.

Tiffany Young, feeling utterly disregarded by Cameron Grant, angrily clenched her fists, ready to question Quinn Lockwood about her motive, but saw her looking very apologetic.

"Tiffany, I’ll go explain to him, I don’t know what happened, sorry, we can talk tomorrow." Quinn Lockwood looked at Tiffany Young with genuine remorse, even nodding her head to express her apologies.

Without time for further explanation, Quinn Lockwood grabbed her bag and rushed after Cameron Grant.

She had never seen her brother this angry before.

Could it be he already had someone in mind? If that girl found out and got upset, that’s why her brother was unhappy?

Seeing Cameron Grant had gone far, Quinn Lockwood hurriedly jogged a few steps to catch up.

Tiffany Young watched Quinn Lockwood anxiously chase after Cameron Grant, so angry she felt her teeth grinding.

Meanwhile, trailing closely behind Cameron Grant, Quinn Lockwood was deeply troubled...

"Bro, I didn’t mean to, I just thought Tiffany was a nice person, and she sincerely likes you, so I..." Rubbing her fingers, Quinn Lockwood carefully looked at Cameron Grant.

"So you disregarded my wishes and set up this date for me?" Cameron Grant’s tone had a trace of questioning, as he stopped walking.

Quinn Lockwood quickly jogged to stand in front of Cameron Grant, an exceedingly apologetic expression on her face, cautiously saying, "I’m sorry, brother, I shouldn’t have done that, I just..."

Bumbling for words for a long time, Quinn Lockwood didn’t know how to explain and eventually could only say "sorry".

After all, she hadn’t considered her brother’s feelings and made decisions for him, and he was justified in being upset now.

With a helpless sigh, Cameron Grant couldn’t bear to see Quinn Lockwood’s self-blaming demeanor.

Though his eyes didn’t smile, they contained a hint of emotion as Cameron Grant took a step forward and embraced Quinn Lockwood.

Gently stroking her hair, Cameron Grant tenderly said, "Never mind, how could I bear to blame you?"

The forest scent emanating from the man pulled at Quinn Lockwood’s heartstrings, and whispers tinged with emotion flowed into her heart like a clear spring.

Something seemed slightly amiss.

Cameron Grant rested his chin lightly on the top of her head, his arms tightening around Quinn Lockwood even more.

Feeling increasingly uneasy, Quinn Lockwood’s heart felt like it was about to jump out of her chest.

She broke free from Cameron Grant’s embrace, somewhat flustered, saying, "I, I’ll head back first, don’t be angry, brother."

With her hands tightly grasped together, Quinn Lockwood quickly turned around and fled.

She always felt that just now, Cameron Grant didn’t see her as a sister, but rather with a hint of... affection, as if looking at someone he fancied.

Reflexively pressing her lips together, Quinn Lockwood shook her head.

She must be overthinking it; her brother had always been the best to her.

Perhaps having never known the feeling of sibling affection in a past life, she simply misunderstood.
