Chapter 231: Chapter 231
Nina Sinclair lowered her eyes in thought, recalling the moment yesterday when her brother told her to move out of The Sinclair Residence. Her heart increasingly felt that Freya Caldwell’s words made a lot of sense.
She, Nina Sinclair, was the Sinclair Family’s young lady and the largest family member other than her brother. Since her brother had never acknowledged Quinn Lockwood’s identity, she was merely a guest who didn’t even count as one, it was perfectly reasonable for her to be kicked out.
It wasn’t her place to act high and mighty in the Sinclair Family!
She called home to ask the servants if Elias Sinclair was at home, and upon learning that he wasn’t, Nina brought Freya back to The Sinclair Residence.
She went straight to Quinn Lockwood’s room, pushed the door open, and barged in.
At the moment, Quinn Lockwood was holding a warmer and planning to take some painkillers. When she saw Nina and Freya burst in, she was momentarily unable to react, her body slightly trembling, and the pills fell onto the bed.
"Get out of here!" Nina quickly rushed to Quinn’s bedside, threw off her blanket, and forcefully dragged her off the bed. Googlᴇ search novèlfire.net
Quinn’s stomach already began to hurt faintly. She didn’t have the strength to struggle and fight with Nina. Her fingers trembled slightly, and the warmer fell to the ground, leaving her abdomen quickly losing its source of warmth.
In a thin nightgown and barefooted, Quinn Lockwood was dragged by an almost frantic Nina to the door, while the servants were already sent away by Freya claiming she lost a precious earring.
With a bang, the door was shut, making Nina feel much more at ease, and she smiled with satisfaction, walking lightly back into the room.
But Quinn Lockwood, being blown by the wind, couldn’t help but shiver slightly, standing barefoot on the ground as the coldness seeped from her soles to the rest of her body, making her stomach hurt increasingly intolerably.
The time to take her medication had long passed, and today was the middle of her menstrual period, and her stomach still hurt the same way. Although she had taken some herbal medicine for conditioning over the last few days, it hadn’t been long enough to be effective.
Her legs began to tremble, barely able to support her body. Quinn felt dizzy, her chest tight and breathless, and her stomach was churning violently.
Although she supported herself against the wall, Quinn still couldn’t hold out and collapsed on the floor, clutching her stomach with a pained expression, her face pale as white paper, covered in cold sweat.
"Help me..." Quinn murmured, eyes tightly shut, curling up on the floor. At this moment, her only thought was for someone to take her to the hospital; she could no longer bear it.
Elias Sinclair, why aren’t you back yet...
She struggled to lift her hand and fumbled towards the phone left on the side. The tempered glass screen protector scratched her fair, slender fingertips at the crack, and with the last bit of her consciousness, Quinn dialed a number.
After the sound of several rings, Quinn’s vision went black, and she lost consciousness.
Cameron Grant was attending a shareholder meeting at Cloudfall Group when he felt the vibration of his phone in his pocket. His eyes glanced downward slightly. Upon seeing Quinn Lockwood’s name displayed on the screen, he stood up, apologized to the shareholders, and left the conference room immediately.
By the time Cameron stepped out of the meeting room, the call had already disconnected, and a bad premonition surged in his heart. He quickly dialed back, but no one answered.
His clear eyes instantly flashed with an unusual look. Cameron then strode downstairs and drove swiftly towards the Sinclair Family.
Logically, since Savannah had returned to the Sinclair Family, apart from calling to chat with him at night, she would never disturb him during work without something important.
His heart was beating increasingly erratically, and the ominous feeling in Cameron’s chest grew heavier.
When Cameron was only a few hundred meters from The Sinclair Residence, he saw a woman in light pink clothing collapsed at the door. As he got closer, Cameron slammed on the brakes.
"Savannah!" He ran quickly to the entrance of The Sinclair Residence, held Quinn Lockwood in his arms, and looked at the pale, frighteningly haggard woman in his arms with deep distress.
Cradling Quinn, Cameron kicked open the door to The Sinclair Residence, entered with a cold expression, and his clear, gentle peach blossom eyes cast a shadow, turning ominous and intimidating.
"Cameron?" Nina, who was sitting and laughing with Freya on the living room sofa, munching on snacks, was terrified when she saw Cameron come in carrying Quinn Lockwood, standing up immediately, while Freya looked incredulous.
"Did you do this?" Cameron’s handsome and elegant face was now overlaid with a chilling expression, his eyebrows knit tightly, and his eyes devoid of warmth as he looked coldly at Nina.
Nina found Cameron terrifying now, as if she didn’t recognize the man before her; the gentle, clear, jade-like Cameron could have such a terrifying expression!
Retreating two steps cowardly, Nina felt completely unsure of herself, her voice trembling slightly, "Cameron, you misunderstand, it was... it was Savannah who was too much first, and I just... just wanted to teach her a lesson... nothing more."
Upon hearing this, Cameron frowned even deeper, his gaze sharply fixed on Nina, his eyes deep and cold, seemingly foreboding an impending storm.
Carrying Quinn Lockwood steadily back to the room, Cameron gently laid her on the bed, then called for Elias Sinclair to come back immediately and resolve Nina’s issues.
He tucked Quinn in, washed a towel in the bathroom, and gently wiped Quinn’s cheeks and hands, even cleaning her dusty feet.
Elias was back within ten minutes, seeing Nina standing in the living room with a conflicted expression, his face suddenly turned cold.
Freya had used an excuse to leave shortly after Cameron went upstairs; although she secretly fueled Nina’s expulsion of Quinn Lockwood, all she had done was say a few words, nothing more, and it certainly wasn’t worth getting caught up in this mess.
Moreover, neither Cameron Grant nor Elias Sinclair were people she could afford to offend.
"Brother?" Nina hadn’t expected Elias to return so quickly, and her heart grew increasingly anxious, but above all, she was indignant.
Why was everyone so concerned about Quinn Lockwood! Besides her looks, what else was so great about her!
She’s just a vixen who seduces men with her looks!
Elias grabbed Nina by the wrist and led her upstairs, and upon seeing Quinn with a pale, pained expression lying in bed, his face grew colder.
