Chapter 212: Chapter 212
Quinn Lockwood’s eyebrows slightly furrowed. Seeing the man’s teasing demeanor, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
After hesitating for a moment, Quinn drank the tea from Elias Sinclair’s hand.
"Why so hesitant? We’ve already kissed, why care about using the same cup?" The corners of the man’s mouth curled into a smile, and his expression seemed slightly joyful as he looked at Quinn’s flushed cheeks, not sure if it was from anger or shyness.
Glancing at his watch, Elias put the teacup down on the table, started to walk toward the door, and said, "I have something to do, I’ll come back next time."
"Take care, sir. Come again." Quinn practically spat the words through gritted teeth. Once Elias left, her smile instantly vanished.
"What’s gotten into this guy today? Could he be upset?"
"Or maybe he’s sick? What a nutcase!" Unable to hold back her grousing, Quinn was thoroughly annoyed with Elias.
Looking at the glasses of water they had just shared on the table, Quinn suddenly blushed, then quickly took them away.
"Go tell the crew to cut out all the footage from earlier." Elias stood under a streetlamp not far from the restaurant. Upon hearing the command, his assistant gave a slight bow and left.
After Quinn served a few more tables, it was time to clock out. However, this time Lynn didn’t have her clean up but told her to change and head home for some rest.
Watching Quinn leave the restaurant to the rest area next door, Elias followed her at a leisurely pace. Updates are released by Nove1Fire.net
"A happy little frog, la la la la," Quinn was humming a tune while happily hopping her way to the upstairs changing room.
Because the female server uniform had many buttons and straps, it always took Quinn several minutes to put on or take off. Elias had just walked in and vaguely heard the sounds coming from the dressing room. He knocked on the door.
"Savannah?" The man pressed down the handle and pushed the door open.
"Ahh! Get out, get out!" Quinn had just taken off half of her uniform top, with her white collarbone and black sexy lace bra slightly visible.
Due to the intense tension and shyness, her fair and delicate skin had a light pink hue, which was irresistibly alluring to any man.
Elias had no idea Quinn was changing. His gaze swept across her neck and shoulder before he quickly averted his eyes, swallowing hard.
"What’s there to be afraid of? There’s nothing on your body I haven’t seen before." He collected himself, said indifferently, then turned and closed the door.
Standing in front of the door, Elias felt a rush of emotions. Only when he looked up did he notice a sign on the door that read: Employee Changing Room.
With his brows slightly furrowed, the man turned his back to the door.
"I’ll be ready soon." Quinn lightly said to avoid further embarrassment when she came out.
Hearing Elias still reply so coolly, Quinn let out a small sigh, quickly finished changing, and walked out.
"Weren’t you gone already? What are you back for? To have more tea?" Feeling that she was bullied by Elias without a chance for payback, Quinn’s tone was sarcastic and mischievous.
Elias slightly smiled, knowing well her vengeful nature but aware that she’d never succeeded in retaliating against him.
"I never left, but it’s not for tea." He smiled softly, deep eyes glinting with amusement, then suddenly put his large hand on her shoulder, catching Quinn off guard, unable to dodge.
"I’ll take you home." He then put his arm around the slightly flustered Quinn and walked out.
As soon as they left the rest area, Quinn quickly slipped out of Elias’s arm.
Walking one behind the other on the dimly lit street, the late summer breeze blew gently, bringing a refreshing coolness. Besides their light footsteps, the slight sound of cicadas could be heard.
Elias lowered his gaze to Quinn’s shadow behind him, then paused and said, "Do you know those people were sent by the show to deliberately make things difficult for you?"
"Yeah, I know." Walking alongside him, Quinn had already guessed those rude or insolent customers were planted by the show.
After all, they never bothered any other servers in the restaurant, only her.
Elias looked at Quinn with slight surprise at her calm response or perhaps at her composure despite being targeted, without causing a fuss with the crew.
"So what?" He asked tentatively, his eyes narrowing slightly, hiding his thoughts.
"So what? Of course, I’ll continue filming. What else could I do? Quit because of it?" Quinn wrinkled her nose, casting Elias a sideways glance, not understanding his strange question.
With her answer, a strange glint passed through Elias’s dark eyes, and he subtly frowned, but he quickly gathered his thoughts and gave a quiet acknowledgment.
Quinn pursed her lips, rolling her eyes once more.
Still with sore calves, Quinn soaked in the bath and went straight to bed after, despite her growling stomach.
If she slept, she wouldn’t feel hungry. She thought this and slowly drifted into dreamland.
One had to admire Quinn’s learning and adaptability. By the third day, she was capable of handling things independently at the store.
"Lowell, customers over here, please attend to them."
"Sure, I’m coming. Sorry to keep you waiting." Quinn wore a blue and white server uniform, her brunette hair pulled back with a light-colored ribbon.
Her radiant face was full of youthful vitality, not at all like a woman of twenty-three or four, looking more like an eighteen-year-old girl.
During her midday break, the show crew sent someone over to offer words of encouragement, mostly about how hard she was working.
The bland but fulfilling third day finally ended. By the start of the fourth day, it was already the beginning of a new week.
Since it was a weekday, the store only had a few scattered customers, and only Quinn and an older lady were working.
