Chapter 196: Chapter 196
After stepping out of the hotel, Quinn Lockwood couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
There’s no way she’s coming back again.
Since there was no rain in the city center, Quinn was worried that Mr. and Mrs. Lowell might find something off when she got home, so she changed clothes at the company before going back.
After tidying up, Quinn lay on the bed playing on her phone, just as a message came in.
"She’s in the hospital, scared out of her wits."
Quinn naturally recognized it as a message from Philip Chandler, and the "she" who was hospitalized was obviously Ariana Lynch.
Quinn smiled with satisfaction and had a good night’s dream.
The next day, Quinn got up early to prepare a nutritious breakfast and brought along some daily necessities to take care of Dylan Quinn at the hospital.
After having breakfast with Dylan, Quinn planned to go downstairs to the doctor’s office to inquire about Dylan’s condition. Who knew, just as she passed the floor of the internal medicine ward, she saw a familiar figure, and a smile instantly curved on her lips.
"Ariana," Quinn softly called out, seeing the person turn around to look at her, appearing somewhat reluctant.
With a face full of concern, Quinn quickly walked over to support Ariana’s arm, saying, "Ariana, are you sick? You look so pale. Didn’t you go for an outdoor shoot yesterday?"
Ariana’s hand, hanging by her side, trembled slightly, and she took two steps back, trying to avoid Quinn, but was inconspicuously pulled back by her.
"I’m fine, just caught a chill last night," Ariana replied, her eyebrows furrowed in displeasure, pulling her arm away forcefully and walking into the ward.
These days, her mind was agitated, filled with the disgusting ghost face from the day before, and she didn’t want to talk to anyone.
Quinn’s eyes flashed with a glint; she followed Ariana and casually linked her arm again, saying, "Did you go up the mountain last night? That must’ve been terrifying. When I used to shoot survival shows, I stayed alone on the mountain for a long time, and those ghostly wails at night nearly scared me to death."
"Ariana, if you go filming again, make sure to bring more assistants, especially since the mountain is full of eerie vibes... if you get scared...
Seemingly genuinely startled, Quinn didn’t finish her sentence but exhaled several times, patting her chest hard, clamping her pink lips shut.
"Shut up, shut up, you b*tch," Ariana broke free from Quinn’s grip and pushed her hard, her entire face flushed red, her lips and shoulders trembling, her hands clenched tightly into fists.
Quinn didn’t expect such a strong reaction, she wasn’t prepared at all, and ended up twisting her ankle and falling, hitting the wall, sweating coldly from the sharp pain.
Ariana’s eyes widened, and she seemed to want to rush forward, but then a burst of voices echoed from not far away.
"Over here, come quickly, Ariana Lynch and Savannah Lowell are both here."
Looking in the direction of the voice, a crowd of reporters with microphones and cameras surged, surrounding the two of them.
"Miss Lowell, can you tell us why you’re in the hospital, and what caused you to fall? Did Miss Lynch push you?"
"Miss Lynch, why did you push Savannah Lowell, is it to stand up for Dylan?"
"Online discussions suggest that Savannah Lowell deliberately caused Dylan to be hospitalized; Miss Lynch, what’s your view on this?" Thıs content belongs to novelFire.net
The reporters, focused on filming and questioning, didn’t care if Quinn, who had fallen to the ground, was injured. They even cornered her against the wall, interrogating her.
"Make way, make way." Suddenly, a clear and anxious voice sounded from behind the reporters. It was Dylan, with thick bandages on his head and arms, accompanied by security, swiftly making his way over.
Security quickly controlled the reporters, and Dylan stepped forward to help Quinn up, a small flame seeming to flicker in his light amber eyes, though his face was full of concern.
"If I support you, can you stand?" His gentle voice was deep, and Dylan’s gaze swept lightly over Ariana, seemingly a touch dissatisfied.
"I’m fine," Quinn said as she slowly rose, slightly rolling her ankle.
Fortunately, it was just a minor twist. If it had been a bone injury, it would’ve required her to rest, and then the filming would have come to a halt.
Watching Dylan show so much concern and care for Quinn, Ariana’s beautiful eyes flashed with an uncontrollable fury.
Back on the floor of the surgical ward, Dylan still wasn’t at ease and called a doctor to apply some medicine to Quinn’s ankle, to prevent swelling.
After chatting with Dylan for a bit and taking a break herself, Quinn felt her foot seemed fine, so she planned to go to the agency to discuss future schedule arrangements with Anna.
At the company, Anna surprisingly filled every available slot with engagements, and only after Quinn firmly opposed and threatened breach of contract did Anna reluctantly remove several low-value arrangements.
By coincidence, just as Quinn returned to the hospital and was about to enter, she saw Ariana, who was planning to be discharged, surrounded by reporters.
"I went up the mountain for an outdoor shoot, but got caught in a rainstorm and had to come to the hospital because of a chill. Thanks for your concern; I’m all better now."
"Oh no, I didn’t push Savannah. I just asked her why she was at the hospital when I saw her at the ward door. As for how she fell, she must’ve tripped over the threshold accidentally, right?"
Ariana was wearing an elegant avocado green short dress, expertly answering the reporters’ questions with grace and poise, showing none of her private viciousness or arrogance.
"As for Savannah, she’s always been a bit aloof and forthright. I’ve always worried she might inadvertently offend someone."
"Dylan’s always been close to her. This incident on set was indeed coincidental; I heard that just as Dylan arrived at Savannah’s filming location..."
Ariana didn’t continue, instead sighing mildly and shaking her head.
Suddenly, a voice emerged from the crowd: "So you’re saying that Dylan got hurt because of Savannah. No wonder she was at the hospital this morning and was taken away by Dylan."
The other reporters seemed to have a revelation, eagerly commenting on the matter.
"My dear Ariana, aren’t you just lying through your teeth?" Quinn called out, smiling as she slowly walked over, wearing a light purple casual outfit that made her fair face all the more vibrant and bright.
She stepped in front of a reporter and took the microphone, her expression calm and dignified as she addressed the camera.
With a steady voice, she said, "Everyone saw it this morning; I fell flat on the corridor floor, my back to the wall. We all have brains; if someone trips over a threshold, how could they fall outward, and even sideways?"
