Chapter 148: Chapter 148
The man’s narrow eyes slightly squinted, making him seem dangerous. He leaned close to Quinn Lockwood’s ear, his warm breath brushing past, causing Quinn to involuntarily shiver slightly.
"How do you know Jonah Hansen from the Lockwood Group, and why are you hanging out with him? Are you treating what I said as if it was nothing?" His grip on the woman’s wrist tightened, making Quinn feel some pain.
Hearing Jonah Hansen’s name, Quinn’s expression changed with panic, unable to react, stammering, "I... just, met him and then had a meal."
She actually forgot that Elias Sinclair had warned her a couple of days ago because of Dylan Quinn, and she regretted not paying to have those photos removed earlier. Now that he found out, how should she explain?
She should have thought of this when he questioned her this morning.
Quinn Lockwood really wanted to slap herself hard, wondering why she hadn’t considered things more thoroughly!
Elias noticed her unusual reaction and assumed that he had hit the nail on the head and she was flustered.
Seeing her appear as though she was pondering something but unable to provide a clear answer, he became even more convinced that there was something between her and Jonah Hansen.
His gaze landed on the accidental red mark showing from her neckline, and recalling this morning’s clumsy excuse from the woman, an uncontrollable anger surged within him.
He roughly pulled open her collar, revealing the woman’s fair and tender neck and shoulders. One had to admit that Quinn had been quite harsh on herself, even to the point of breaking the skin in some places with her strength.
"Hey, what are you doing, let go of me." Quinn was genuinely scared at the moment. She struggled, trying to escape the man’s hold, only to be pinned down more tightly.
Looking at the reddish-purple spot on Quinn’s shoulder, he thought about the restaurant from the photo where the two had dined, the dress tossed casually on the couch, and the discarded high heels, his dark eyes dangerously narrowed.
He then curled his lips sarcastically and said, "Who are you trying to fool with this act of defiance? A woman as impure as you will never have me touch her."
"I had been wondering why you suddenly claimed not to like me and made those distant behaviors, even moving out of the Sinclair household. It turns out it was because you have a new love."
Elias’s words made Quinn feel terribly upset. She had been a proper young lady, and out of nowhere, she was humiliated . She just had a meal with Jonah Hansen, how does that make her impure?
This man, only a couple of days ago was joking and playing with her, and now turned into such a cold and sinister persona towards her. Who could handle such a change?
Besides, she hadn’t done anything wrong!
A strong feeling of grievance and anger surged in her chest, and Quinn Lockwood’s expression turned ugly. She sharply retorted, "You’re calling me impure? And yet you’ve pressed me against the car door, embraced my waist closely in the office, playfully held my neck, and now press me onto the bed, tearing my clothes. If you can do all this to someone ’impure’ like me, who knows what even more ambiguous things you’ve done with other women in secret!"
Quinn was so angry her temples throbbed, feeling her blood rushing up. It was always Elias who made those intimate and frivolous gestures towards her, yet now he turned around to condescendingly accuse her of being impure.
"I would rather die than yield to you. There’s nothing between us, even if I’ve signed a contract with you and technically am your employee. You have no right to interfere with whom an employee meets or dines with after work hours!"
Disregarding appearances, Quinn Lockwood spoke her mind without reservation. Perhaps because what she said made some sense, the man in front of her didn’t immediately respond, but his eyes were filled with tumultuous emotions, as if a storm was brewing.
"Boss Sinclair doesn’t want to associate with an impure woman like me, so why don’t you hurry and get off me to avoid staining your expensive suit."
If anyone heard Quinn daring to speak so sarcastically to Elias Sinclair, they would definitely admire her audacity.
Because the last person who disrespected Boss Sinclair had disappeared from Veridia City, and there was no telling where they had ended up. Maybe doing the lowest-paid labor in some remote backward area.
Elias Sinclair suppressed his inner anger, and the surrounding air pressure was so heavy that it became hard to breathe. Quinn tightly pressed her lips together, stubbornly meeting his gaze.
Roughly releasing her wrist, Elias Sinclair stood up and adjusted his tie, his gaze sweeping over Quinn who was tightly clutching her shoulder. With a cold expression, he strode out of the room, slamming the door shut forcefully.

Quinn Lockwood kept a tense face, her previously bright eyes growing deep and cold, deeply angered by Elias Sinclair’s words today.
Extremely angry! She would never talk to him again, it was utterly infuriating!
Changing out of the clothes he had torn, Quinn sat furiously in the chair.
She stared at the script in front of her, but didn’t remember a single word.
The next day, halfway through filming, Elias Sinclair came to the set. The director was about to pause the shoot to greet him, but a cold glance from Elias signaled him to stop.
Fortunately, Quinn was so engrossed in the scene that she hadn’t noticed his arrival, allowing this part of the shoot to proceed smoothly.
"Great, Savannah Lowell is truly incredible now, passing almost every scene on the first take. Mr. Sinclair, you have a good eye." The director, knowing Elias Sinclair favored Quinn, quickly tried to flatter him.
Who would have thought he would miss the mark this time? Instead of acknowledging him, Elias cast a cold glance his way, prompting the director to quickly shut up.
Quinn had just reached the rest area when she saw Elias Sinclair. Lowering her gaze slightly, she pondered for a moment but decided to walk over. Unexpectedly, seeing her approach, Elias got up and walked away.
With a hard eye roll, Quinn almost fainted with anger. This man had no appreciation for kindness!
Hmph, she had contemplated saying hello to him.
During the midday break, Elias was reviewing the progress and image quality of the scene with the producer and others.
"This part isn’t good; the extras laughed, and none of you noticed. Is this how you take your jobs seriously?" Elias’s expression was icy, his tone extremely stern as he addressed several staff members nearby.
The producer blinked nervously, glaring at the few employees with heads deeply bowed in silence, feeling humiliated by Mr. Sinclair’s public reprimand.
