Chapter 103: Chapter 103
Quinn Lockwood and Dylan Quinn’s trial photoshoot went very smoothly, and this concept was indeed more intriguing than the previous individual plans. The next step was for the stylist to select a few other sets of couple outfits and design some styling details.
Joyce Kramer was quite surprised that Quinn Lockwood didn’t make any mistakes. This couldn’t continue, or else she’d have wasted her time today. So, she walked over to a few employees with a smile and began chatting with them.
"Joyce, why is Mr. Sinclair here today? A few days ago, Ms. Lynch was fired by Mr. Sinclair after badmouthing Savannah Lowell. Does Mr. Sinclair have a thing for Miss Lowell?" an employee quietly asked.
Joyce Kramer smiled slightly and shook her head, "Don’t overthink it. President Sinclair never cared about Savannah. He’s here only because Dylan just arrived today, and he’s afraid Savannah and Dylan might have a conflict. He’s just here to keep an eye on her."
"Oh, I see. We were terrified these past few days. Savannah hasn’t been bossing us around like before, so we thought President Sinclair and she were..." everyone breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.
"Stop imagining things that aren’t there, and focus on doing your job well," Joyce glanced in Elias Sinclair’s direction and, seeing that he was still busy with his documents, smiled and moved on to ’stir the pot’ elsewhere.
After roughly selecting a few outfits, Kevin brought some refreshments for everyone, allowing Quinn Lockwood and Dylan to take a break. Seeing Elias Sinclair still busy on the side, Quinn went over to give him a portion as well.
"I haven’t properly thanked you for the last time," she said, placing down the refreshments, her tone unusually gentle.
"I never eat this stuff," the man glanced at the exquisitely styled desserts on the table and said indifferently.
Elias Sinclair was also surprised by Quinn Lockwood’s attitude towards him. He suddenly furrowed his brows and said, "Didn’t you know?"
"Ah... I just came to see what you were busy with... worried you might be hungry..." Damn, she didn’t have a deep impression of these details from the original character’s memories.
She blurted out half-hearted words to Elias Sinclair and regretted it immediately. What was she even saying? It made it seem like she was sticking to Elias, looking all concerned about him; it was disgusting. Updates are released by novęlfire.net
Quinn Lockwood got goosebumps, shivered a bit, picked up the refreshments, and dashed away.
Elias Sinclair watched her retreating figure, his brow furrowed and expression serious, feeling a strange sensation rise again. The way she seemed to be flattering and currying favor with him felt like she was putting on an act...
Joyce Kramer, who observed Quinn Lockwood’s eagerness to please Elias Sinclair earlier and then saw her boss’s displeased expression, knew her plan was working.
Those chatting with Joyce followed her gaze and naturally witnessed Elias Sinclair’s disdainful attitude towards Quinn Lockwood, feeling relieved that they no longer had to tiptoe around her.
After finishing the refreshments, Quinn Lockwood went to the bathroom to wash her hands. Seeing her leave, Joyce hurriedly followed; she still wanted to enjoy the show.
"Did you see earlier? She tried to flirt with President Sinclair again but got sent away," a low-voiced discussion echoed in the restroom.
"Wasn’t she? We thought she hadn’t thrown any diva tantrums the past few days because she’d improved, but she’s still shameless."
"Watch your words; what kind of diva is she, really? It’s a pity Dylan has to work with a woman like her."
"Ahem," Quinn Lockwood, seeing that the two were so engrossed in their conversation that they hadn’t noticed her presence, cleared her throat to remind them.
"Miss Lowell, you... what a coincidence." The two saw Quinn Lockwood washing her hands and realized she must have heard their conversation, fearing that with Quinn’s temper, she would berate them ruthlessly or even slap them. If Mr. Sinclair heard, they’d be doomed.
"Yes, just washing my hands," Quinn Lockwood smiled at the two, acting as if nothing happened.
"Is that so? We’ll... we’ll be on our way then."
Watching them make a hasty exit, she shook her head. Just as she was leaving the restroom, she bumped into Joyce, who accidentally stepped on her foot.
"I’m sorry, Miss Lowell, it was unintentional," Joyce lowered her head, appearing innocent.
"It’s alright, I wasn’t careful either," Quinn Lockwood felt a slight pain but thought it no big deal.
Seeing that Quinn Lockwood wasn’t angry at her, Joyce felt something was off. When did she become so wise? That foolish infatuate turned into a white lotus, truly a good act.
Grinding her teeth in frustration, Joyce returned to Elias Sinclair’s side.
"Why haven’t you gone back yet?" Elias Sinclair was in the office area with Ethan, reviewing the trial shoot’s final images, and he furrowed his brows when he saw Joyce standing beside him.
"President Sinclair, haven’t you returned either?" Joyce didn’t expect such a question from him.
"Head back to the company to handle other matters. Kevin can take care of things here. Remember to update me on any issues." With that, Elias continued reviewing the ad photos.
Seeing the handsome, aloof man before her, Joyce’s eyes brimmed with tears.
"Alright, everyone, prepare for the official shoot," Kevin clapped his hands, reminding everyone.
Given the success of the trial shots and to maintain progress, Elias Sinclair and Ethan decided to proceed with the official shoot immediately.
Just as the team was ready, all equipment suddenly went black.
"I don’t know, turn on the lights quickly."
The sudden darkness threw everyone into a panic. Once the lights were back, Quinn Lockwood searched around and saw Elias Sinclair on the phone, one hand against the wall, looking stern and slightly pursing his lips, creating a heavy, oppressive atmosphere.
After ending the call, the man announced that everyone could wrap up early and then left directly with Kevin and Ethan.
Quinn Lockwood had a foreboding feeling.
"Excuse me, sir, what happened? Is there a problem with the equipment?" she hurried to a staff member checking the equipment, asking worriedly.
"If Mr. Sinclair doesn’t know what’s wrong, how would I know?" came the impatient reply.
"Please step back from here. If this equipment gets damaged accidentally, not even ten of me could afford it."
"Yes, Miss Lowell, we’re already done for the day. Please head back; we have a mountain of follow-up work to handle. If done poorly, it could cost us our jobs," a female employee remarked cynically, pursing her lips at her.
