Chapter 239: Chapter 239 Making Waves Against the Wind (3/5)

The man and woman ahead, she didn’t recognize the woman, but the man was indeed Jiang Cheng.

Watching the intimate gestures of the two, Mei Mengzhen exclaimed in surprise, "These two can’t be dating, can they?"

Actually, the fact that Jiang Cheng could be dating wasn’t really surprising; everyone dates in college, and she herself was too.

But the rumors about him in school had never stopped, not even for a week, and though his features might be pixelated, everyone had already recognized him.

Boldly dating him at a time like this, the person was either blind or it was true love.

"Could there be a mistake?" Mei Mengzhen didn’t believe there really were blind people at school.

He Yiran rolled her eyes, "With actions more intimate than you and your family’s lawyer, how could there be a mistake?"

"So the person is really blind?"

"Hmph," He Yiran snorted coldly and then said, "Comrade Lai Xixi will have another new post tomorrow; should I take some photos for her?"

Mei Mengzhen understood very well; she and Jiang Cheng’s grudges had been aired, and next Lai Xixi planned to release more of Jiang Cheng’s dirty laundry, namely his entanglements with Luo Yingying. If this became a topic, the previous news could then be stirred up again.

Obviously, the focus would be on Jiang Cheng’s character; having been rejected by Mei Mengzhen, he persistently pursued others without neglecting to date during the chase. Such a scumbag’s life experiences were bound to be relished by everyone.

As for Jiang Cheng’s dirty laundry, they weren’t in a rush; this year was almost over, and there were so many issues that they had been afraid they wouldn’t finish exposing them before the holiday. Now, it was just fine, and they could continue next year.

"But today is Sunday already. Can we still make everyone’s Monday happy?" He Yiran muttered while sneakily taking photos.

A figure stealthily emerged from behind the two, whispering in their ears, "It’s possible."

On the quiet, night-shadowed road, even with dim streetlights, having someone suddenly pop up was terrifying. The two nearly screamed, but the figure quickly covered their mouths, feigning concern, "Keep it down, don’t get discovered."

After recognizing the newcomer, both Mei Mengzhen and He Yiran rolled their eyes in unison. Lai Xixi indeed had potential for this line of work, but if she wanted them to keep quiet, why scare them like that?

However, with her serious face and being fully equipped, they knew Lai Xixi had been following for a while. The camera lens cover was open, and it was likely she had already taken plenty of photos, making their contribution unnecessary.

"Looks like I’ll have to stay up late again today. Jiang Cheng is really insufferable; last week he was begging Zhenzhen to forgive him, and this week he already has a new girlfriend. The guy is simply no good."

"He’s the epitome of a modern scumbag," Mei Mengzhen chimed in, echoing Lai Xixi’s sentiments.

Though Lai Xixi had initially posted to help Mei Mengzhen out of a desire for attention, now she was purely seeking justice for the girls.

Of course, whether the girls needed it was another matter. But she felt she was doing quite well, exactly in line with the general agreement, saying, "I was just about to discuss this with you two. Jiang Cheng has so many scumbag deeds that we might not finish exposing them all this year. I was actually thinking about waiting until next year for some, and was worried I wouldn’t have any new material for the next couple of weeks. This encounter really is quite fortuitous."

Whether it was coincidence or not, it was indeed getting late. "You should hurry back and start writing, otherwise you’ll truly be up all night."

"You guys go on ahead. I haven’t finished taking photos. In case they get even more intimate later, I can’t miss it. I’ll head back after they return to their dorm," Lai Xixi said, setting the camera and continuing her stakeout.

Mei Mengzhen nodded, feeling she had a point, "You need solid evidence to nail the story. Good luck, then. We won’t keep you company; three’s too noticeable."

Lai Xixi nodded and distanced herself from them. As they moved further away, He Yiran remarked, "Lai Xixi must have just come back from home, right? That big bag looks like the one she was carrying when she went home on Friday. So running into this must be a coincidence."

"Probably, who knows, but this is quite interesting. Who would be this blind to dare to get together with Jiang Cheng at a time like this?"

"Keke would definitely know. Let’s ask her when we get back," He Yiran said excitedly, and, picking up the pace, she and Mei Mengzhen quickly returned to their dormitory, of course, making sure to take a different route that bypassed Jiang Cheng.

...

Back at the dorm, Luo Yingying, who often set up her stall, was definitely not there, but unexpectedly, Yan Keke wasn’t in the dorm either. He Yiran walked in, looking left and right but couldn’t find Yan Keke anywhere, "Weird that Keke isn’t in the dorm today, really strange."

A voice spoke up from the doorway, "I’m here."

They were startled again, which just went to show, why did everyone they met today love to suddenly appear?

"Ah, Keke, you scared the life out of me," He Yiran said, her hand over her chest as if truly frightened.

Mei Mengzhen shuddered all over, gasping for breath.

Yan Keke looked innocent, "I didn’t scare you guys. I just came back from next door and heard you calling my name, so I responded. You must be feeling guilty about something."

Feeling guilty was out of the question; they hadn’t done anything wrong. Mei Mengzhen’s heartbeat had nearly calmed down, and she then asked, "Keke, where have you been?"

Yan Keke grinned mischievously, a look of mystery on her face, "Nowhere special. There was a message in the group, so I went to get the details. By the way, did you guys know that Jiang Cheng is dating?"

"We knew."

The two spoke in unison and had just found out a moment ago, probably just a bit earlier than Yan Keke.

Surprised, Yan Keke found it unbelievable, "How could you possibly know before I did? Oh, you’ve both seen it in the group, right?"

"Not really, we saw it on the road. We witnessed their intimate behavior and just thought the girl must be blind."

"What’s unbelievable is that I never come across such gossip," Yan Keke nearly wanted to cry.

"Nonsense, we’ve encountered it before."

Just as they finished talking, Luo Yingying and Liu Pei entered the dorm with surprise written all over their faces, and then excitedly said, "Did you know? Did you know? Jiang Cheng is dating!"

The three in the room pursed their lips, feeling a bit sheepish to admit it, but He Yiran still kindly reminded them, "Jiang Cheng is your ex-boyfriend. Why do you seem so excited about him dating, even if it was just for one day?"

Luo Yingying felt awkward for a moment and then disregarded the question, continuing excitedly, "Oh my gosh, what’s up with that girl? Despite Jiang Cheng’s reputation, someone still had the nerve to date him. Morals have declined, haven’t they? Do women now all love scumbags? I just can’t comprehend."
