Chapter 606: Chapter 606

Soon, a middle-aged man wearing a black tuxedo and a bow tie emerged from the castle, along with a young man and woman whose attire resembled European servants from television dramas.

The middle-aged man smiled warmly and respectfully as he approached Andrew, slightly bending forward: "Young master, you’re back?"

Andrew, holding Ming Wan’s hand, walked over to him and said, "Jacob, this is my friend Ming Wan, and her friend Lady Chu Wan. Please ensure you take good care of them."

Jacob immediately beamed at Ming Wan and Wan Chuchu, nodding in greeting: "Welcome, lovely ladies, to Roz Manor. I hope you have a delightful stay here. Please don’t hesitate to tell me if you need anything."

Andrew smiled and said, "Jacob is the housekeeper here. He’s very good, so there’s no need to feel reserved."

Wan Chuchu and Ming Wan smiled and greeted Housekeeper Jacob, who then instructed the two young servants to help carry their luggage.

As the group entered the castle, they were greeted by a scene of opulence and grandeur.

Andrew led the two of them to the rooms on the second floor, assigning Wan Chuchu and Ming Wan to separate rooms, which were surprisingly far apart—one at this end of the corridor and the other at the opposite end.

What does this mean? Are all the rooms between them uninhabitable?

Wan Chuchu frowned and asked Andrew, "Could you arrange for Ming Wan and me to be next to each other? Your castle is too vast, and I worry I’ll get lost trying to find Ming Wan."

The Crown Prince had mentioned that Ming Wan lacked a sense of direction, advising Wan Chuchu not to leave her side. Staying next door should enable her to keep an eye on Ming Wan.

Andrew paused and glanced at the housekeeper, who promptly smiled and said, "These two rooms are the finest guest rooms available. However, if Lady Chu insists on changing rooms, I will ensure that the room next to Ming Wan’s is prepared."

"Thank you, and could you let me know when I can move? Could it be done today?" Wan Chuchu pursued.

It was already afternoon, and with dinner being just an hour away, it seemed possible to switch rooms before bedtime, ensuring nothing amiss befell her during that short interval.

Hence, Ming Wan and Wan Chuchu each retreated to their rooms for washing up, knowing that a meal awaited them afterward.

At the lengthy dining table, only Wan Chuchu, Ming Wan, and Andrew were present. Housekeeper Jacob personally served the food brought by the servants to the table.

Wan Chuchu felt her eyes sting as she watched Andrew and Ming Wan gaze affectionately at each other. Thus, she spoke up again, "Andrew, isn’t this your home? Why aren’t your family members here?"

Andrew turned his face towards her and said, "My father and brothers are busy with work in the capital, my mother is preparing for my wedding at another estate, and my sister is off traveling the world. She’ll be coming directly to the wedding venue in three days."

The mafia family truly has its peculiarities—sons and brothers work tirelessly despite impending weddings, while sisters roam the world.

Wan Chuchu then asked, "And your fiancée? Can you tell me about her?"

Upon posing the question, she observed Ming Wan’s eyes darken with sadness, hinting that this was why her brother had rushed to the airport to block the way.

Andrew straightforwardly rejected Wan Chuchu: "Ming Wan will be unhappy, so I rather not discuss my fiancée."

Wan Chuchu almost laughed aloud. Such a scandalous scenario, yet he felt justified in his stance!

Unadulterated, she pressed on: "Are you hoping to publicly and affectionately wed your fiancée on one hand, while privately engaging with Ming Wan in an illicit affair? Forgive my bluntness, but the truth is what it is."

Ming Wan worried Andrew would face embarrassment and subtly shook her head at Wan Chuchu. Yet Andrew said, "What’s wrong with that? My father has someone aside from my mother, and my uncles possess multiple mistresses."

Wan Chuchu and Ming Wan were momentarily stunned, not expecting Andrew to voice such sentiments.

Wan Chuchu instantly lost the desire to argue with Andrew—different paths lead to different destinations; no more words would change this.

Andrew felt he’d said nothing wrong and instead enthusiastically told them, "In the woods nearby, there are many animals—rabbits, deer, pheasants, hedgehogs. You two can visit them tomorrow."

Wan Chuchu was uninterested in further engagement, focusing intently on her meal and heading to rest posthaste.

Meanwhile, Ming Wan seemed distracted, perhaps troubled by Andrew’s recent comments or lost in thought over other matters.

After the meal, Wan Chuchu inquired of the housekeeper, "Is my room ready yet? We’ve experienced a tiring flight and need rest."

Jacob apologetically replied, "I’m sorry, it will take a while longer. You might consider resting in another room meantime."

Wan Chuchu shot him a suspicious look, firmly declaring, "I’ll wait a bit longer then. If it’s truly delayed, I’ll share a room with Ming Wan tonight."

Jacob responded, "It will be ready soon," and promptly left the dining area.

Wan Chuchu scoffed quietly.

Ming Wan seemed reluctant to return to her room, while Andrew appeared keen on lingering closely with her. Wan Chuchu naturally couldn’t leave Ming Wan alone and deliberately chose to serve as their conspicuous third wheel.

Andrew and Ming Wan conversed in Y language, leaving Wan Chuchu helplessly as an onlooker, who then took out her phone to message the Crown Prince. Observing their growing rapport, Wan Chuchu couldn’t help but think of Jiang Kechu; he must have read the letter by now, though uncertain about his current activities.

Far away in the east, Jiang Kechu considered Wan Chuchu’s situation during his afternoon work break, distressed yet unsure of how to deter her from her course. Little did he know Wan Chuchu was soaring over the miles westward.

He mulled it over and retrieved his phone to dial the Crown Prince.

The call wasn’t answered by the Crown Prince himself but by his attendant, who informed Jiang Kechu that the Crown Prince was unavailable for calls. Thus, Jiang Kechu left this message:

"My wife isn’t going to Y country. Please find someone else." Follow current novᴇls on N0v3l.Fiɾe.net

Upon hearing the message, the Crown Prince was momentarily amused and bewildered; evidently, Wan Chuchu hadn’t informed Jiang Kechu about her journey to Y country today. Truly a daring woman, he’s unsure how to relate the situation to Jiang Kechu.

Despite knowing the difficulty in speaking it, the Crown Prince was not one to procrastinate, returning the call to Jiang Kechu shortly after.

Jiang Kechu had just returned home when the nanny mentioned his wife had sent the children to the compound and left a letter in the bedroom. Upon hearing this, Jiang Kechu’s head buzzed with realization—Wan Chuchu must have sneaked away!

He had just picked up the letter, not yet having read it when the Crown Prince called. Jiang Kechu coldly insisted, "I don’t wish to speak with you now. Give me Wan Chuchu’s phone number there."
