Chapter 484: Chapter 484
Wan Chu’er sneered coldly: "Revenge for grievances, revenge for hatred."
After speaking, she didn’t wait for the other side to react and immediately stormed forward with a flurry of blows. The few people were just villagers with brute strength. How could they possibly match Wan Chu’er, who had undergone professional training? In no time, they were wailing and stumbling all over.
After beating them up, Wan Chu’er stopped. Thinking it was finally over, the Zhangs had just breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Wan Chu’er step aside and Mai Qiqi took her place.
It seems it was their turn to be beaten! They wailed in despair.
Mai Qiqi, having watched Wan Chu’er fight, was already boiling with rage. As soon as she started, she transformed all her resentments into the force of her club, showing no mercy and completely ignoring their pleas and curses. Official source is ɴovelfire.net
Some of these people realized Mai Qiqi wasn’t as formidable as Wan Chu’er and tried to dodge. Some of the Zhang women even tried to strike back at Mai Qiqi, but Wan Chu’er saw them, stomped on a joint, and left them in too much pain to stand up.
After Mai Qiqi had beaten them for a while and was sweating profusely, seeing their heads-in-hands begging look, she snorted disdainfully, her previous frustration completely evaporated.
At this moment, a voice came from outside.
"Is this Zhang Gouzi’s house?"
Mai Qiqi was startled and quickly turned to look at Wan Chu’er. Wan Chu’er listened carefully and moved to peek outside the window, faintly seeing police uniforms and guessing that it was probably Chen Ke who had brought the police.
They had arrived remarkably fast; normally it takes four hours to go from Huangjia Gully to the county town, but these police officers had probably taken just over two hours, apparently having sped all the way.
Hearing the noise outside, the Zhangs were startled and then immediately started screaming at the top of their lungs.
"Help! Someone is trying to murder us—"
"Someone, come quickly!"
Wan Chu’er cracked a disdainful smile and signaled to Mai Qiqi with her eyes, indicating there was no need to worry.
Mai Qiqi sighed in relief. Seeing the Zhangs’ wailing was disgusting, so she swung her club fiercely a couple more times before she nonchalantly walked out with Wan Chu’er.
Those two strikes bewildered the Zhangs, making them wonder if these two women felt utterly safe. People were already on their way!
"You can’t leave!" Zhang Gouzi’s wife saw them trying to go and thought they were escaping, so she hurriedly pounced.
Wan Chu’er didn’t even turn her head, just turned around and kicked, sending Zhang Gouzi’s wife flying once again.
"Ouch, it’s murder!" The remaining people yelled even louder.
Now four police officers had arrived, followed by some villagers out to watch the excitement. Chen Ke was not seen. Upon seeing the scene in front of them, they were somewhat stunned: two beautiful young women had beaten up two burly men and three stout village women so brutally.
But deservedly so; it was quite satisfying to watch.
Wan Chu’er calmly met them and said, "Hello, I am Wan Chu’er. Today, out of nowhere, the Zhangs damaged our car, so we came here to reason with them."
At this statement, a hush fell.
Telling such blatant lies with such composure.
Everyone began to reassess Wan Chu’er and Mai Qiqi, wondering if their confidence indicated a truly formidable background.
The Zhangs had not expected that upon seeing the police, Wan Chu’er not only was unafraid but actually dared to go forward to meet them.
The police, observing the sticks in the hands of Wan Chu’er and Mai Qiqi, and then the several people on the ground with swollen faces from beatings, wailing miserably, did not rush to speak. They exchanged glances silently, quickly swapping opinions among themselves.
They had been briefed beforehand, and naturally knew that Wan Chu’er and Mai Qiqi were not to be provoked, and that today it was crucial to satisfy these two.
A leading police officer cleared his throat and glared at the five members of the Zhang family, bellowing, "What’s going on? Explain yourselves clearly!"
Regaining their composure, The Zhangs immediately started shouting their innocence. Zhang Gouzi’s wife, moving away from Wan Chu’er and Mai Qiqi, threw herself at the police, desperately clinging to the leg of one of them, sobbing with snot and tears:
"Officer comrades, you must stand up for us. We were just sitting quietly at home when these two crazy women came to kill us. If you hadn’t arrived in time, we might all be dead."
"My arm seems to be broken."
"My leg was crushed by that woman."
The other individuals immediately started wailing, collectively accusing Mai Qiqi and Wan Chu’er of assault with a weapon, intending to commit murder.
Initially feeling somewhat guilty, Mai Qiqi, seeing Wan Chu’er’s calm and confident demeanor, adopted an arrogant attitude herself, thinking it would be easy to have her father sort it out.
The police officer, whose leg was gripped, shook it off disdainfully several times, though he didn’t pull his leg free. Feeling even more disdain for these troublemakers, he said sternly with a straight face:
"You’re all ganging up on two helpless women, better be honest, or else I’m taking everyone in!"
Everyone was shocked, the implication was too obvious.
Second hurriedly defended, "Officer comrade, we didn’t hassle them; they attacked us first. Look at us, not a single spot on our bodies is unharmed."
Police: "Why did they hit you? Did you do something so outrageous that it forced these two helpless women to fight back?"
The Zhangs: "..." So it’s all our fault no matter what?
Wan Chu’er appeared unconcerned, and Mai Qiqi felt a rush of exhilaration. Having connections was indeed beneficial; she silently commended the police officer.
"Enough, no more commotion!" the leading police officer yelled, quiets down The Zhangs, and then asked seriously, "Who here is related to Zhang Gouzi?"
The Zhangs were momentarily baffled; what exactly were the police here for? Why bring up Gouzi?
"Who are Zhang Gouzi’s family members?" the officer asked again, frowning.
Then the villagers shouted, "They are, that fattest wife over there, she’s Zhang Gouzi’s wife, and those two are Zhang Gouzi’s brothers."
"Officer comrade, did Zhang Gouzi commit a crime?" a villager boldly asked.
The police looked around, noticing Wan Chu’er’s trace of impatience, promptly stated:
"Zhang Gouzi was arrested for staging accidents in the county town to extort money, and also attempted to rape an innocent woman, injuring two women. His actions were heinous and had a negative impact."
Upon these words, the scene instantly erupted into chaos.
Zhang Gouzi’s wife wailed loudly, while the rest of the Zhang siblings and their spouses looked at each other, speechless.
The villagers began discussing fervently, none showing sympathy; all eyes were shining, feeling that the police had indeed done a great service. Everyone had long been fed up with Zhang Gouzi’s harassment; the police had really done something very satisfying.
