Chapter 320: Chapter 320

The icy blade was pressed against his skin when suddenly a voice from inside the van ordered, "Bring him along too." The knife was immediately withdrawn.

He had narrowly escaped, Yan Hui thought blankly.

It was only then that he felt his heart pounding wildly, and his entire body went limp, unable to muster any strength.

The man before him, like a ferocious demon, hoisted Yan Hui up like a dead dog and shoved him into the van.

The van swiftly started moving, silently vanishing into the city center.

Around the corner of this small road, a sound came from Yan Hui’s discarded phone.

The call connected, and a voice said "hello" twice, but no one answered.

The call was made by Yan Hui to Li Shan.

Li Shan called out twice, hearing no response, he slightly furrowed his brows and hurried back to the tightly secured security room of the old mansion. He directly struck the keyboard in front of a screen, and soon a map appeared with a red dot flashing continuously on it.

He zoomed in on the map, the flashing red dot was precisely on a small road near Guangmao Mall in the city center.

That road had the back doors of one or two large buildings, usually used for parking vehicles. Occasionally people took it as a shortcut, but why would Yan Hui go there?

Li Shan paused, then quickly made two more calls, still no answer. On the third call, he reached Yan Hui’s personal assistant and learned that Yan Hui had left the company driving by himself twenty minutes ago.

Li Shan’s mind raced, analyzing the situation Yan Hui might have encountered.

Usually, Yan Hui only called him for two reasons: one was to inquire about Old Sir Zhong, but Yan Hui had visited the old mansion the day before yesterday, so that reason was ruled out; the second was for urgent matters. Now that no one was answering the phone, it meant that Yan Hui was in trouble.

The next second, Li Shan turned to another screen, once again striking the keyboard to pull up nearby surveillance cameras.

This system was installed by Wan Chu’er a month ago. She had showed him how to use it. If only Wan Chu’er was here, her meticulous mind always found clues, a thought flashed through Li Shan’s mind.

Unfortunately, there were no cameras on that small street, making it impossible to view the situation inside.

Li Shan quickly located the cameras at both ends of the small street, swiftly setting the time and speed, splitting the screens to simultaneously play footage from within the last twenty minutes.

Suddenly, Li Shan froze, his eyes incredulously fixed on the screen.

Wan Chu’er had unexpectedly appeared on the screen, wandering aimlessly. To avoid two people approaching her, she turned into that small street, and two minutes before that, an inconspicuous van had slipped into the alley, then she turned to avoid the people.

Afterwards, Yan Hui’s car stopped across, Yan Hui anxiously waited for a red light, then followed into the alley.

Two minutes after Yan Hui disappeared at the corner, the van drove out of the small street again.

Looking at the time, Yan Hui’s call was made within ten seconds after he entered the alley; he was chasing after Wan Chu’er, yet he made a call, meaning Wan Chu’er faced an emergency.

He knew of Wan Chu’er’s capabilities, ordinary three or five men were no match for her...

Wan Chu’er was in danger!

Yan Hui had also disappeared!

Li Shan staggered a few steps, closed the door of the security room, and sprinted at his fastest speed to Old Sir Zhong.

"Grandfather, Chu’er and Xiao Hui might be in trouble," Li Shan tried to stabilize his voice, but he still felt his vocal cords unnaturally shaking.

Old Sir Zhong was reading a letter, he paused upon hearing Li Shan’s words, his eyes becoming sharp and shrewd.

Hearing Old Sir Zhong’s steady voice, Li Shan calmed down a bit and quickly recounted the events.

Old Sir Zhong squinted his eyes, "Call Jiang Kechu, he should be nearby, tell him to check that road immediately."

Li Shan nodded and at the same time dialed Jiang Kechu’s phone.

After Wan Chu’er left, Jiang Kechu sat for another minute in the café before paying and leaving.

He found his car in the garage, sat silently and smoked a cigarette in the car, thinking back on that top-secret file about Wan Shiguo, his entire demeanor was very deep, like a tranquil pool, the matters of Wan Shiguo must not be known to Chu’er.

It was evident, Chu’er had deep feelings for Wan Shiguo, if she knew, she probably couldn’t handle it, and might do something rash.

Thus, he was doing his utmost to stop Wan Chu’er from investigating further, hoping for her to be safe and happy.

The cigarette quickly burned out, he stamped out the butt, started the car, and was just about to step on the accelerator, when suddenly his phone rang.

Jiang Kechu felt as if a bucket of icy water was dumped over his head, after his brain froze for three seconds, every inch of his muscles and every cell in his body started screaming.

He forced himself to calm down, told Li Shan that he installed a locator in Wan Chu’er’s phone, asked him to immediately check Chu’er’s current location.

Then he tossed the phone aside, slammed on the accelerator, and the car instantly sped off.

A minute later, Jiang Kechu arrived at the small road Li Shan mentioned. He parked his car at the entrance, took out some tools from his car, and cautiously and steadily walked into the street.

Ten steps in, he found Yan Hui’s phone. He checked the position from which the phone was thrown and its scratches, confirming it was dropped by Yan Hui himself.

His heart sank, continued walking forward, then found a drop of blood. Jiang Kechu punched his chest, took a deep breath, continued scrutinizing the surroundings, focusing more intensely, his gaze becoming even sharper.

A wristwatch, signs of a fight, tire tracks, half a wet footmark...

After collecting all the traces left on the ground, he looked up at the sky and the surrounding buildings.

After a thorough observation, Yan Hui called Chen Ke, asked him to quickly come to this place, while he himself, with those items, headed towards the old mansion.

On the way, Chen Ke’s call came, he had arrived at the small road.

Jiang Kechu, while driving, calmly recounted the situation and instructed him: "Thoroughly inspect the buildings there, make the utmost effort to find eyewitnesses."

Inside the old mansion, Old Sir Zhong stood before two middle-aged men, both of whom looked very experienced.

As Jiang Kechu entered, one of the men was assuring Old Sir Zhong: "You can rest assured, Sir, we will definitely find the people."

Seeing Jiang Kechu’s arrival, Old Sir Zhong pointed at Li Shan: "Li Shan, take him to the back room for processing."

An hour later, they had sorted out the situation:

The drop of blood belonged to Yan Hui;

Yan Hui and Wan Chu’er were together, currently not facing life-threatening danger.

Wan Chu’er’s phone was found in the Northern Suburb of Beijing, thrown in some grass along with the bag she had carried leaving the house.

Chen Ke found an eyewitness, but the eyewitness didn’t see clearly and was in the process of making a sketch.
