Chapter 298: Chapter 298
Wan Chu’er looked up, only to see the Jiang Kechu who had disappeared for several months. A smile immediately spread across her face.
"Uncle Jiang!" Wan Chu’er exclaimed excitedly and tightly hugged Jiang Kechu.
Hearing Wan Chu’er’s crisp call, Jiang Kechu felt as if the void in his heart had finally been filled. He turned around, pressed Wan Chu’er against the wall, and lowered his head to kiss her.
Wan Chu’er felt as though she had fallen into a scorching furnace. Jiang Kechu’s arms dominantly and forcefully encircled her waist, and through her clothes, she could feel Jiang Kechu’s solid chest muscles and the fiercely beating heart beneath.
Jiang Kechu’s motions were intense and passionate, as if he could not bear to not swallow the person in his embrace or meld her directly into his own body.
It took a while before the two could reluctantly part.
Wan Chu’er, gasping for breath, playfully hit Jiang Kechu and scolded, "You’re killing me."
Unexpectedly, upon hearing this, Jiang Kechu stiffened his body, then the next second, he pulled Wan Chu’er tightly into his arms again, gently rubbing her soft hair with his chin.
This mission was extremely perilous; he almost lost his life there, and Chen Ke rushed to his aid, only to be severely injured by a blast and still unconscious.
He had been back for half a month now, and after handling the aftermath, he finally packed up and left the base, heading straight to the villa area to find Wan Chu’er.
However, he ended up facing disappointment. Li Shan handed him a few papers expressionlessly – they were case reports.
Old Sir Zhong didn’t see him either, and Xiao Bai tossed him a still-sealed phone box and said:
"Your family really knows how to play their cards, smashing someone’s phone and replacing it with a junk phone thinking that solves everything. Chu’er doesn’t lack such junk; I’ve already bought her a new one."
Looking at Xiao Bai’s triumphant expression, Jiang Kechu was not the slightest bit angry; he simply said calmly, "Give me one week," and then silently left.
Then, he went home and had a lengthy discussion behind closed doors with his own father.
Afterward, Second Uncle Jiang was transferred and demoted, Third Uncle Jiang’s most profitable business line was cut off, reducing his income by fifty percent, and as for Aunt Jiang, Uncle Jiang had just received a transfer order and would leave Beijing for the Southwest after the new year.
And Lin Jiayi was about to marry the second son of Tianmei Electric.
These tremendous changes almost cost the lives of Second Uncle Jiang and his cohorts. When they found out that it was their nephew’s doing, they were so furious they nearly burst a blood vessel.
Thinking it would be like the old times, where making a fuss could resolve the situation, Second Uncle Jiang and others gathered at the Jiang Family home, even bringing out the old man. But this time, Old Sir staunchly stood behind his grandson without uttering a word, acting deaf and dumb just like Grandma Jiang.
The cold ruthlessness and swift actions of Jiang Kechu quickly made these people shut their mouths.
Having no choice but to accept their fate, Second Uncle Jiang and the others regretted how they had treated Wan Chu’er that day even more. They thought it was all in the past, but not only had it not passed, it brought disastrous consequences.
They did not dare look for Wan Chu’er, nor did they dare to make a fuss with their nephew again, so they could only vent their anger on the instigator of this affair, Jiang Lirong.
All sibling affection was forgotten, they nearly started arguing outright, especially Second Aunt Jiang and Third Aunt Jiang, who absolutely loathed Jiang Lirong and her daughter.
How could Jiang Lirong watch her precious daughter marry the wastrel Zhu Er, who was not only uneducated but also the abandoned son of the Zhu Family, never to take over the family business.
She tried everything to find her daughter a better match, but her attempts were met with indifference from her elder brother, mockery and sarcasm from her second and third brother and sisters-in-law. They rudely said that since Jiayi had already been with Zhu Er, marriage was more than appropriate, which almost made Jiang Lirong faint with anger.
She knew that for this matter, she still had to resolve it with Wan Chu’er, but unfortunately, she found no way to reach Wan Chu’er.
Many people already knew that Lin Jiayi was going to marry Zhu Er, and also knew that Lin Jiayi had a murky relationship with Zhu Er from much earlier, with the widespread circulation of those photographs.
The decent families simply ignored Jiang Lirong, making Lin Jiayi’s hopes to marry into a better family increasingly bleak.
If there was anyone happy about this situation, it was Zhu Er. Lin Jiayi was once regarded as a goddess, and even speaking to her was considered a privilege for him. Now, he was about to win her hand and the thought alone thrilled him immensely.
After dealing with these issues, Jiang Kechu finally went to find Wan Chu’er.
Wan Chu’er, holding Jiang Kechu’s hand, walked cheerfully across campus, filled with joy. She occasionally glanced at Jiang Kechu and noticed that after this mission, he seemed to have gained an additional hint of composure and charm.
Jiang Kechu listened as Wan Chu’er chattered about her life these past days, the books she had read, her insights from martial arts practice, her progress in hacking skills, always with a doting smile.
She never mentioned a single grievance she suffered at Jiang Family; instead, she was content to share her growth and joy, making Chuchu, vibrant and delightful, irresistibly lovable.
As they were talking, Wan Chu’er suddenly stopped; she realized that since she had seen Jiang Kechu, she had been talking incessantly as if there was no end to what she wanted to tell him.
"What’s the matter?" Jiang Kechu gently asked.
Wan Chu’er murmured, "I didn’t expect that I would miss you so much, that on seeing you, I can’t help but feel excited and just talk non-stop."
Jiang Kechu chuckled, tightening his grip on her hand, "Is that bad?"
Wan Chu’er thought for a moment and then nodded, "It’s quite good actually, I feel very happy."
It turns out that in the face of love, even the most mature souls can exhibit the behaviors of a sixteen-year-old girl.
Once inside the car, Jiang Kechu took a box from the back seat and handed it to Wan Chu’er.
Wan Chu’er took it and saw it was an opened mobile phone box. Inside, there was a brand new flip phone from ’S’ brand, in a beautiful sky-blue case.
She raised an eyebrow, "What does this mean? Is this for me? I just changed my phone."
Jiang Kechu replied, "Yes, it’s for you. From now on, you can only use the phone I buy for you. I’ve installed a micro-locator inside, so take it wherever you go."
What a domineering statement, so touching and heartwarming!
A broad smile instantly spread across Wan Chu’er’s face as she vigorously nodded, "I’ll switch to it once I get home. I haven’t been carrying my phone recently; it’s been lying around at home."
Jiang Kechu, pleased, affectionately patted her head, then started the car, saying, "About that bar incident, I’ve gotten justice for you. Don’t hold back on my account in the future, do whatever you want, with the same spirit as when you fought that hoodlum."
He felt Wan Chu’er let go of that incident so easily because she was mindful of his feelings.
She had only fought with a hoodlum once in her two lifetimes, and the only time she was embarrassed, Jiang Kechu had seen her.
Are you going to remember that for a lifetime?
Wan Chu’er was rather resentful.
