Chapter 441: Chapter 441
Leng Mochen’s expression finally softened a little. Indeed, he had come back a few hours earlier than usual today, not for any other reason but because he missed her and the child. Yet, when he returned, neither of them were home!
Li Si recapped everything she had chatted about with Zhang Shan, speaking as fast as bubble tea pouring out of a bamboo canister. She added at the end, "Is it that all married women who’ve had kids start being this bold when it comes to these topics?
Anyway, it made me feel so embarrassed later that I didn’t even know what to say! She even said that you can’t leave men too deprived, or else they’ll go off seeking trouble, causing unnecessary headaches!"
Leng Mochen crooked his finger at her, and she instinctively sat herself on his lap. The two of them were always this affectionate when chatting, so Li Si didn’t think twice about it.
He hugged her waist firmly with his arms, letting out a comfortable sigh.
Let’s see where she’ll run off to this time!
Li Si tilted her head up and said tenderly, "Hubby! You definitely wouldn’t do that, right?"
She trusted him completely. Even if he had certain urges, he would rather deal with them himself than turn to another woman!
Leng Mochen practically yelled into her ear in mock anger, "How do you know I wouldn’t?"
This little rascal clearly thinks he’s some kind of ascetic! Doesn’t she realize the word ’endure’ has a knife at its head? Keep enduring and you’re bound to make yourself sick!
"Ah? Hubby, you!" Li Si realized sitting on his lap might not be the best idea, sensing something unusual.
Oh heavens! Oh earth! She really brought this upon herself!
Leng Mochen smirked teasingly, "What about me? Say it, huh?"
He deliberately exhaled lightly toward her ear. "Speak! Hmm?"
Li Si’s heart raced like a drum. She had only been venting and joking around casually with him; how did he suddenly turn serious?
This wasn’t her original intention at all!
"Buding seems to be awake! I’ll go check on him!" Li Si tried to find an excuse to escape, as his breathing grew increasingly heavy, the heat brushing against her flushed cheeks.
"Someone else will take care of him! Come on, babe! Let’s *research* whether I’m capable or not?" Leng Mochen tightened his grip on her, ignoring her attempts to wriggle free, deliberately teasing her.
The playful glint in his eyes made him all the more irresistible, making her feel like he could devour her whole at any moment!
But he was only trying to tease her a bit, never actually intending to take things further.
No matter what anyone else’s husband might do, for her sake, he always listened to the doctor’s advice—because this was about their future together.
Once the body suffers damage, there’s no way to fully recover.
Li Si’s face turned as red as a tomato. She couldn’t tell if it was due to embarrassment or being squeezed too tightly by his arm. Suddenly, she felt a tingling sensation spread through her body like an electric shock. Oh no—her period had arrived! And she hadn’t put back her nursing pads after feeding Buding earlier!
Leng Ning had left, and she had completely forgotten about this. Milk began to seep through her clothes, and Leng Mochen felt a sudden warmth against his arm. One look was all it took for him to understand!
No more waiting; he promptly transformed into a human milk pump and got to work...
The study was soon filled with sounds that made faces turn red and hearts race, continuing well into the night...
The next morning, when Li Si woke up, Leng Mochen and Buding were nowhere to be seen in the room.
She figured Sister Ding must have taken the baby. Feeling both defeated and sore, Li Si stared at her once flawless right hand, now aching, and wailed internally. She’d rather believe in ghosts than trust a man’s nonsense!
How could she have been so thoughtless and repeated Zhang Shan’s words to him, like a joke?
Everything she said had only been meant to tease him, but it turns out he interpreted it completely differently!
Maybe she really had suffered the infamous "three years of pregnancy brain fog"?
Thinking back to last night’s events, Li Si buried herself under the covers, wishing she could disappear. Might as well suffocate in the blanket and spare herself the embarrassment!
Unfortunately, her wish was doomed to fail. The sound of the door opening snapped her out of her reverie. Leng Mochen entered to find his adorable wife huddled under the quilt.
He flashed a mischievous grin and scooped her up, blanket and all. "Selling dog meat! Buy it today, or it’ll stink tomorrow!"
"Ah! Put me down!" Li Si’s muffled voice came from within the quilt!
Leng Mochen quickly pulled the covers down to reveal her head. "Good morning, love!"
Li Si’s face burned with fury from his antics. "You’re such a bad guy!" She was especially annoyed seeing his bright, refreshed face paired with a smug grin—it simply added fuel to her fire.
Last night might have been great for him, but her hand was still sore as a result!
"Look at this! Somebody’s mad now! I was just worried about you not resting enough, so I had Sister Ding take Buding away earlier. Otherwise, how could you have slept in?"
Li Si glanced outside—it was broad daylight already. Looking at the clock on the bedside table, she gasped. It was 9:45 AM!
She had completely overslept for her lazy morning! Buding usually woke up around 7:30 for milk!
"Oh no! I slept so long! Buding must be hungry!" The moment she thought of her son, all her previous irritation evaporated.
Leng Mochen pulled her close. "He had the stored milk earlier. Sister Ding warmed it up for him!"
During the day, Li Si often produced excess milk, so she’d use a breast pump to store it in the fridge. This way, whenever she wasn’t around, Buding could still be fed, avoiding formula.
Knowing that her son wasn’t hungry anymore, she sighed in relief but shot him an accusatory look. "It’s all your fault! My hand still aches!"
Her eye roll carried endless indignation.
"Wife, thank you for last night! You saw my pitiful state and helped me out. I was just teasing you! I’m so sorry, okay?" Of course Leng Mochen knew her well—she had thin skin, and his overly gleeful behavior had been reckless. He’d gotten too carried away last night and teased her further with jokes that pinned the blame entirely on her.
That had clearly upset her. After all, she’d worked hard, ended up sore, and hadn’t even heard a compliment. Instead, he shamelessly turned the tables on her!
Li Si finally felt a bit better. "If you’d said this earlier, I wouldn’t have felt so bad! By the way, why didn’t you go to the company today?"
It wasn’t like it was the weekend—he should’ve left for work by now.
"If I left without calming you down first, do you think I’d survive the day?" Leng Mochen kissed her forehead gently.
He knew that if he went straight to work, her mood would be in the dumps all day, maybe even crying somewhere out of sight.
Li Si punched him a few times. "It’s all your fault! If you keep acting , I won’t talk to you anymore!"
"Alright, alright! No more next time, okay?" Leng Mochen quickly caught her playful fists, kissed them a few times, and finally let go. "Anyway, there’s less than a month to go—I can wait!"
"Ahhhh!" Li Si buried her face in his chest, groaning in complaint. She knew full well his mind was now filled with nothing but colorful thoughts!
The two of them finally left the bedroom laughing, finding Sister Ding downstairs holding Buding.
Buding finally saw his mom and immediately stretched his arms out to be held.
Li Si took her son tenderly, bumping foreheads with him. "Buding, did you miss Mommy?"
Buding grinned from ear to ear, drool dribbling down his chin. His little arms wrapped tightly around her neck, but he wiggled toward another direction.
After handing the baby back to Li Si, Sister Ding headed into the kitchen. What happened next was seen only by the mom and dad, who exchanged knowing glances and couldn’t help but burst into laughter. He really was just like his father!
Li Si loosened her clothing and let Buding nurse on her left side. As if guided by instinct, Buding opened his tiny mouth and latched on instantly, sucking eagerly and making contented little noises.
Leng Mochen raised an eyebrow, leaning toward her ear to whisper, "This little rascal dares to steal my perks!"
"Hmph! That’s his perk to begin with, isn’t it?" Seriously, who’s stealing from whom here?
Look at Buding now—he seemed so assertive about his rights. Nursing while his little hand protectively shielded his food source, almost as though he knew his shameless dad wanted to snatch it!
"The left side’s mine!"
Li Si rolled her eyes at the sky. Someone, please take this childish man away! (To be continued.
