Chapter 58: Chapter 58
Anvesha gobbled down her food quickly as she continued to call Adhyayan who was busy at his restaurant deliberating avoiding the phone calls. Mentally hailing profanities at his cursed fate and cursing his father, the irritated celebrity chef dreaded talking to his girlfriend. He knew Anvesha would be annoyed when she would have found out about his father being persistent about their marriage.
Finishing his work, he called her back as he entered in his car to drive back to his penthouse where his hungry sister was waiting for him. A smile crept on his bow-shaped lips as he realized Parisa never had dinner all alone.
On the other hand, Anvesha was annoyed as she realized Mr. Haughty Shoes was avoiding her. Since when these misunderstandings took birth, she thought as she took her car keys and dashed out of her apartment. She was dressed in a pink tank top and cotton hot pants, but she could care less. Being impulsive was her character trait and she wanted to talk with Adhyayan immediately, so she drove to his residence because she knew he could not avoid her there.
She had entered inside the elevator of Adhyayan’s housing society when her phone rang. She scoffed looking at the caller ID as she received the call and said, “Hello”.
“Anvesha, you called”, said Adhyayan trying to sound calm though he was boiling in anger at his father. He knew Anvesha was not ready for marriage and he speculated she would break off their engagement. His heart bled at a mere thought of Anvesha going away from his life. Having spent almost four best years of his life with her, he could not imagine a life without her.
Anvesha could hear the honking of vehicles and she realized he was still not home. “Yes and I wanted to talk so come home soon. I am waiting at your place.” She said in a monotone and disconnected the phone. She took deep breaths to calm her racing heartbeat as she tried to build her confidence and rang the doorbell.
Parisa, who was studying for her final year exams was startled at the sound of doorbell. She wondered who was there at late night when she was all alone. She knew it was not Adhyayan at the door as both the brother and sister had spare keys of the apartment. She went the near the door and peeped out from the peephole getting shocked to the core. Never had she expected Anvesha at her door at nine at night.
Parisa ushered her to-be sister-in-law inside the house and asked, “All okay?”
Anvesha nodded and gave an assuring smile to her. They both were sitting in the living room and chit-chatting when a shocked, angry and dejected Adhyayan entered in his house. His heart was thumping loudly and he was waiting to receive Anvesha’s wrath.
With his head bowed down, he went past the living room trying not to meet the gaze of Anvesha. He dreaded the confrontation for now but he was sure, if Anvesha would move out of their sweet relationship then he would break all the ties with his father.
Anvesha was startled to see a dejected Adhyayan whose face had lost its charm. Parisa was quiet as she realized something was terribly wrong between the couple. Anvesha broke the ice as she said, “Adhyayan and Parisa, please have your dinner.”
Adhyayan stopped in his tracks when Anvesha smiled at him coldly and said, “We can talk after dinner”. Adhyayan nodded in affirmation as he knew he could not run away from dreaded confrontation.
Parisa, on the other hand, served the dinner their maid had cooked for the siblings. Anvesha, who was full, stole glances of her dejected boyfriend every now and then as he gulped the food after changing into a blue T-shirt and grey sweatpants. Dinner was carried out in complete silence.
Finishing her meals, Parisa got up anxiously and left to her room giving the couple privacy which Adhyayan and Anvesha needed the most.
Adhyayan had lost his appetite. He somehow, ate the meal and kept the dishes in the sink. Washing his hands, he sat on the couch beside Anvesha and mumbled, “I am really sorry”, lacking courage to meet her icy blue eyes.
Anvesha was confused when Adhyayan apologized as she knew he had made no mistake. She had realized that she was being insensitive to his feelings by not overcoming her inhibitions. The discourse with her father had surely boosted her confidence and she was ready to spend her life with him by tying a knot.
Taking a deep breath, Adhyayan continued, “Don’t mind my father, Anvesha. You are precious to me and I cannot afford losing you. I am…”
Anvesha could not help but smile as she cut him off in between. Practically straddling him, she sat on his lap at the spur of moment and said, “Someone speaks a lot”, leaving him astonished.
A smile of satisfaction crept on his lips as he realized she was not leaving him. Anvesha, on the other hand, slammed her rose-petal like lips onto his bow-shaped ones. Adhyayan smiled in between the kiss as he pulled her closer to himself and promised to stay with her forever whether they get married or not. He was happy for them and their lives with plentiful of mutual understanding and lots of passionate kisses.
Panting hard, Anvesha moved apart and blushed as she realized the position they were in. She wondered since when did she turn so bold. With her cheeks turned crimson and heat pooling inside her body, she tried to move away while Adhyayan strengthened his hold around her small waist.
Removing the curly strands away from her face, he looked at her with desires in his dark brown eyes. Anvesha blushed as she lowered her head avoiding his piercing gaze and said, “What are you sorry for?”
Drawing patterns on her exposed waist under her tank top, he enjoyed what he was doing as he spoke, “Dear, you have no pressure. I would wait for our marriage till eternity.”
Anvesha was in a trance under his touch. She just smiled and said, “What if I don’t want you to wait till eternity?” winking at him leaving him off-guard.
“Wh… What?” he stammered trying to find appropriate words to speak. Anvesha kept her head on his heart that was thumping wildly as she missed the magic of his fingers on her waist.
With a smile on her face, Anvesha spoke, “Adhyayan, I was not ready for marriage because I thought that I will not be able to manage my career and family like others. I am a bit clumsy and childish too.”
Adhyayan just smiled as he stroked her curly locks and said, “I will make sure that you will manage everything perfectly. Please give us a chance, Anvesha”.
Anvesha nodded as she said, “Papa, too thinks that you will be at my side” while Adhyayan hummed.
“Adhyayan, do you want to get married?” Anvesha asked him leaving him flabbergasted. It was obvious that he dreamt of getting married to her and spend his life with her.
Wisely choosing his words, Adhyayan spoke, “Yes, but only if you are ready to take a chance, dear.”
“Let’s get married”, Anvesha wanted to announce but it came out merely a whisper as Adhyayan had begun drawing patterns on her waist again.
The dark brown orbs of Adhyayan sparkled as his voice gained the lost enthusiasm. Nuzzling into her crook of neck, he questioned, “Are you sure?” leaving a wet, sloppy kiss there.
Letting out a moan, Anvesha said trying hard to maintain her composure, “Yes and I am not turning back. We are getting married after Parisa’s exams.”
Adhyayan was thrilled after hearing the happy news. Tightening his grip around her, he could not find words to speak. The couple was lost in their own world, hugging and kissing each other oblivious to the fact that someone was watching them.
Parisa had come out of her room to take a water bottle from the kitchen. She was wishing to not see her favorite couple fighting but she was shocked to see them kissing each other on the couch. Smiling coyly, she silently moved in the kitchen.
Adhyayan was amused to see his baby sister entering in the kitchen from the corner of his eye. He was beyond embarrassed. He stiffened and left Anvesha suddenly as he whispered, “My sister is here”, in her ear.
Anvesha blushed embarrassingly as she sprang out from his lap and said meekly, “I am leaving”.
Adhyayan chuckled as he called his sister and shared the happy news. Parisa, who had witnessed the turmoil of her brother, was at cloud nine. She wanted to hug both of them but having witnessed their public display of affection, she refrained. She simply congratulated both of them and ran to her room.
Adhyayan just chuckled and said, “Anvesha, stay here. It is late.” Anvesha, on the other hand, was blushing profusely.
Adhyayan ushered his to-be-wife to the guestroom and smiled. It was indeed, the happiest day of his life after all, he was getting married to the love of his life soon.
