Chapter 59: Chapter 59

Marietta P.O.V

"What the hell are you doing here? I've asked you to get out of my sight!" I watched as Isabella yelled on the guard bats like Annabella.

They were guarding the gateway of the maze and we needed to get them out of here in case to enter inside. Isabella was looking like a carbon copy of Annabella well, basically, she was her carbon copy. She was wearing a long black gown that was touching the ground with a red blood-colored rose crown on her head. Even her make-up was just like Annabella's.

Both giant bat monsters looked at each other before looking back at Isabella.

"But your majesty, you asked us not to leave this place at any cost." One of the bats said in a grumbled voice.

"Are you disobeying me!" Isabella shouted as she threw daggers at them. While I was watching everything from behind a huge dry black leaves tree. Yes, a black leaves tree and there were so many here.

They both vanished in a second and I ran towards her.

"They'll know soon that I'm not Annabella. So be hurry!" She instructed me before gesturing me to go inside a huge black round hole entrance.

"How?" I asked, observing the path which was leading to the pitch blackness. Pure darkness which I hated the most in my entire life.

"Because Annabella killed that person the very next moment when anyone dares to disobey her." She said, looking again and again, at some distance.

"Now go and hurry up. Remember we don't have enough time and that snake pendant will also....." I hugged her.

"Thank you!" I whispered.

She was a stranger, a person from my rival side and she knew what would happen next once I found that instrument but still, she was helping me because she wanted to do something for good. Because of her, I was alive and I knew no matter what but I could never pay her back. She was my hero, my savior, my masked Savior.

"Thank you for everything." I pulled apart and whispered. She smiled in return.

"Now, go." She said pointed towards the black hole entrance. I gulped, looking at the pitch-black darkness.

'Come on Marietta you can do this!'

I internally encouraged myself and trudged towards it. As I stepped inside it, the beauty of darkness greeted me. Of course, I couldn't say bad to darkness, after all, I was standing inside it.

There was nothing that could explain where I was standing so I just took a few random steps more when I heard a loud boom and when I looked behind, the entrance was closed. The only sought of light was long gone.

My eyes go wide and panicked hit me but maintaining my hope that I couldn't lose. I looked around but nothing to see.

'When everything seems dark, you may be the light.

I am light. A sparkling moon of the darkest night.'

I snapped my fingers and there appeared three fireballs in front of me, dimly lighting my surroundings with their light. I looked around and my already widen eyes almost bulged out of their sockets when I recognized the place in a second.

My nightmare was not a dream, it wasn't a nightmare either, it was a vision, a signal, a hint of future, my answer to my own question. Now it was living right in front of me.

It was a long pathway with two entering holes at a ten-step distance. My both sides had dark silvery rocky walls, these walls had the perfect curvaceous shape that looked so mesmerizing. I looked up to only met with pure blackness, there were no signs of any kind of roof. I looked behind only to found a big rock blocking the way out. I immediately look back in front of me were two holes, two paths were staring back at me.

Which one to choose?

I didn't see anything like that in my dream. The things I saw were only a long pathway and music. Where should I go now? One wrong step and everything finish. Damn!

Right or left?

I closed my eyes and rewind everything in my mind to predict something regarding this. Two pathways but which was the right one? Where should I go?

When nothing came out so I heaved a sigh.

Alright, instead of wasting time I should check both paths one by one but what if I went in the wrong one and stuck there? It was a maze and Annabella's maze. Anything could happen here. Damn it!

I was so paranoid!

Ok, do or die! I better took risks instead of standing like a coward and shamelessly staring at the entrances. If I succeed and if I failed, I will see about that.

'Let's take the risk and see what will happen!'

So, I randomly trudged towards the right one hole all the while those fireballs brighten my path with their light. The whole path was as same as darkness. I walked for which felt like centuries. But neither that route ends nor I heard any kind of sound from anywhere.

What if I fail in finding her weakness and stuck in here, forever?

I shook my head to divert my attention from such panicking questions. Why on earth I always end up with more questions when I wanted them least?

I stopped abruptly when my feet started to hurt. Maybe I was walking for hours now. I could sense my muscles tired and the feeling of exhaustion. The long corridor wasn't looking like to be end soon.

Realizing that maybe I had taken the wrong path, the feeling of terror hit me. Terror of losing everything, the terror of not able to save the crystal world, the terror of never getting out of here.

"No! I have to get out of here!" With this, I started to run. I run and run and run but nothing happened. It felt like I was running on a never-ending track. It felt like if I won't get out of here my whole world would collapse.

It felt like I was living my own worst fear, my nightmare.

Suddenly, the fireballs in front of me disappeared as I lost focus on my mind. My whole surroundings fell in darkness but I didn't stop. I was running madly because I knew my life and the life of many peoples depends on me.

In the darkness, where you couldn't find any description of this place, I was still running. My breath was harsh, my heart was about to fell on the ground and every inch of my body was dripped in sweat. I could sense the darkness arousing in front of my eyes in already dark vision.

At last, I stumbled with something and hit the ground. The icy-cold floor shivered my body. I tried to stand up but useless. Soon, numbness and darkness enveloped me.

That same happened in my nightmare before changing the scene.

************

Isabella P.O.V

Leaving Marie at her spot I moved towards the backside of the castle. I know Marie will find it out and whatever will happen next, I just hope it would be for the best. By now, Annabella had for sure find out about my betrayal and I had to do something to give Marie some more spare time.

Entering the castle from the backside, I trudged towards the throne hall. I was looking as same as Annabella that any guard could hallucinate me like her so I just have to take advantage.

I stepped inside and an empty hall greeted me. It was wrong to betray your sister but what she did was not right. I felt a shape pang of guilt and hurt in my heart. I looked around when my eyes stopped at a particular place. It was the place where Teresa took her last breath and I promised her to protect her child at any cost. A satisfying feeling appeared in my heart vanishing guilt. I fulfilled my promise.

What Annabella did was not right. I tried to stop her but she never listened. So I did what felt right to me. But she was my sister and that was enough for her to kill me for betraying her. A tear rolls down on my cheek thinking about the consequence when Marie will come. She will finish Annabella and I will disappear too.

"HERE YOU ARE!" A loud shout put me out of my trance as I fought the urge to jerk.

I looked at the angry Queen of darkness, standing in front of me with eyes as yellow as lava and fangs out ready to drained blood from my body. Behind her was Joseph and few bat guards were standing.

Embracing myself, I furrowed my borrows and glared at them. Making myself ready to play a game.

"How dare you dress like me? What the hell have you done? What are you planning to do?" I shouted with anger dripping voice and tried my best to sound like Annabella.

I didn't miss the sight in which Annabella's face dripped in shock but she covered it immediately with anger.

"You traitor! I will kill you!" Annabella shouted as Joseph and guards exchanged looks. And I got them. I smirked.

"Isabella you're my sister how can you do this to me!" I snapped angrily and shook my head with angry-disappointment.

"Oh well play!" She laughed and clapped.

I maintained my angry face and glared at Joseph. He was loyal to Annabella with all his heart. I had to take him on my side to make my side strong.

"Joseph! Arrest her if you don't want to die!" I yelled at him and he looked at Annabella before looking back at me.

"You.....your highness....how can I....." He stammered, switching his eyes between us.

"Oh shut up! Kill her!" Annabella ordered and the guard bats started to step towards me. Joseph looked at Annabella and smirked as if, he had proved something.

Oh shit!

Using my magic, I immediately created ten giant bats on my side. I ordered them, "Destroy them."

In a second, the hall mirrored a war zone, all bats were smacking, banging, shoving, hitting, and destroying each other while Annabella moved towards me in a split second and gripped my neck before giving me any chance to defend myself.

That caused me to knock on my breath as she pressured more on my neck ready to finish me at any cost. I looked at her face for the last time as breathing became impossible for me. Her eyes were shining red and yellow like fire, her face clenched tight in anger and disgust.

I deserved it. I betrayed my sister. I deserved it. A lone tear escaped my eye followed by more. I tried to struggle for the last time but eventually, I accepted my death anyways. I was destined to die, now or later, it was up to my fate.

It was already decided and I have accepted it.

Everything started to blur in front of my eyes, I felt dizziness when she stopped abruptly and smacked me on the floor hard.

I laid still for a moment when my body jerked and I took a deep breath and started to cough hard. After adjusting my breath, I rubbed my eyes with my trembling hands to clear my vision.

I looked at her and she was looking at me with disappointment filled eyes. Using my elbow, I shifted to a sitting position on the cold floor all the while coughing badly and breathing harshly.

"You traitor!!!" She yelled at me and closed her eyes. I looked at the bats who were still beating the shit out of each other. I felt bad they were fighting and struggling, because of Annabella's spells, they were obeying her orders. I looked back at my sister and her eyes were still closed.

"AHHHHHHH!!!!!" Suddenly, she screamed so loudly that all the bats vanished because of the power in her voice. Even Joseph covered his ears and fell on the floor and I covered my ears with my hands. But she didn't stop and screamed more loudly.

I clenched my eyes tightly and tears started to scroll down on my checks. Her voice was so strong yet so dreadful. It was hurting my ears.

"Annabella stop it!" I yelled and she stopped.

Disbelief overtook me.

I opened my eyes and the next moment, I was again in her grip.

"Where is your pendant?" She snapped, boring holes in my soul with her bloodshot eyes.

"In the right hands of the right person at the right place," I said, my voice was barely a whisper. My head was spinning and my vision was almost blurred. I was about to pass out.

"How can you do this?" This time she whispered and my heart ached.

"You know we are twins. If I die you die! Our weakness is one you stupid!" She shrieked and I found myself smiling.

"I know. We both will together die because we are born on the same day so we should die on the same day." I smiled.

I knew that from the start that our weakness was one. But stopping her meant I have to die then I will die happily. I didn't want to rule any throne. I just wanted to give freedom to vampires which they deserved. I just wanted them to be free.

Because vampires were not bad they were helpless. And if helping Marie meant helping my people then I will die heartily.

"You're totally insane! How can you do this to me? You are a traitor! You must die!" She snapped angrily.

"And what you did! What was that? You must die too!" I retorted angrily.

She nodded at me with bloodshot eyes and I glared at her.

"Before dying, I will destroy the guardian town of your little princess! And....." She smirked, jerking me away from her. Then she pointed her finger at me adding, "you must watch this with your own bare eyes."

I gulped as a cold shiver run down my spine. What was she up to now?

Marie, please be hurry!
