Chapter 36: Chapter 36

Marietta P.O.V

I stood frozen at my spot as if, someone had made me a statue of stone. That guy had harshly gripped my arms behind me. His gun was touching my temple and the shiver of death was running down on my whole body. My heart was beating alarmingly like if he didn't shot me then I would probably die with a heart attack. Right now my death was an absolute thing.

I was already scared and that continuously hard thing, that was probably a gun, pressing against my temple, seemed like shaking my breath.

"Back then you guys are lucky. I am not going to spare you, let's see... Do you have your lucky charm with you or not?" I heard a husky voice just behind me. But his words referring to Bre and Veward. As he gripped my arm more harshly, making me hissed in pain.

Bre and Veward were still on the ring. They were four men in total, three of them standing near the ring, aiming their gun at them. They had hidden their faces with masks and hoodies.

Bre and Veward looked in my direction, I could see the fear and concern in their eyes. They both stood up from the floor of the ring and took their hands behind their heads.

"Alright, alright. We will do whatever you want but don't hurt her. Leave her first." Veward said, gritting his teeth.

"Look at you, scared and angry at the same time. Not good...these two things shouldn't have come together." That voice behind me chuckled.

"Look! I'm telling you. Leave her first then we will do whatever you want." Veward said.

I winced as he again twisted my wrist. Tears pooled up in my eyes as I tried my best not to cry. I looked at Veward who was glaring probably at the person who was hurting me.

Then I looked at Bre and he was trying to convey something. By carefully moving his eyes to his feet. I followed his gaze and he slowly tapped his shoe sole on the floor. I raised my brows, getting what he wanted to say.

I got it!

"I want to kill you!!! Alright you bastards, move down. Come here!" That voice behind me yelled, making me cringed.

They both started to carry little steps towards me and stopped at a few step distance. The remaining three men also came nearer, aiming their guns on Bre and Veward. I gulped, looking at the guns. I felt my breath uneven and my heartbeat so fast.

Veward suddenly changed his aggressive expressions into a cute one. "Leave her, please... Move that gun..." He said, pouting so cutely and showing his puppy dog eyes, "...a little away please..."

If the circumstances were different, I must be laughing so hard at his face.

"You guys are insanely stupids." That voice behind me laughed. His grip loosened on my wrist as he laughed so hard. I couldn't blame him Veward expressions were worth laughing.

Taking advantage of it, I grabbed all my courage and harshly pinched the heel of my shoe in his feet.

Groaning, he threw me and Veward caught me.

At the same time, Bre knocked a punch on the men face who was standing near him and snatched his gun. Without wasting any time he shot the men on the Veward side.

Instead of attacking back or shooting us, the rest of the two men dropped their guns and ran away. Without even saying a word. It irked me way too much. It felt as if, someone controlled them just like Walter did. I moved my eyes to every corner of that place but to my surprise, no one was there.

"Coward much." Bre said sarcastically but I felt there was another story behind it.

My eyes got widened when I looked at the ring and the pool of blood around the lying body. In the dim lights, I could saw the blood trail on the floor of the ring.

"Are you okay?" Veward asked as he enveloped me in a hug. "Jerks! I swear I won't spare them." He cursed, gritting his teeth. I hugged him back, my face pressed to his chest, I could feel his heartbeat against my ear. I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself by focusing on his heartbeat.

"Let's go. Might be they left to bring more people." Bre said, rubbing his arm. I pulled away from Veward to look at him.

When I looked at him, I gasped. His beautiful face was badly injured, his left eye was swelled and the under-eye area was blue. His lips and nose were swelled and bruised, there was a big blue mark on his cheekbone.

"Oh my God! Bre, are you okay?" I gasped, looking at his face.

"Don't worry. I'm fine." He passed me a small assuring smile. His jaw must be hurting. I felt too bad, guilty, and angry at the same time.

We left that place as soon as possible. The drive was silent until Bre broke it. "He already knew about us."

"Whom? Jake?" Veward asked and he nodded.

"He allowed me that I can ask three questions and he will answer them." Bre said.

"Did you ask?" This time I spoke and he replied, "Only two."

"That tattooed guy doesn't belong to a gang but he has a connection with the black market. He just wanted to kill your family, Marie. He wanted to destroy the whole Amino. When I asked why and who's the person behind that tattoo masked guy," Bre paused. A cold chill ran down my spine and I shivered with horrified terror.

"We were fighting and asking questions at the same time. He was a really good fighter. He already punched my jaw and God knows how many times my stomach." Bre's focus was on the road but he continued, "When I asked my last question. He punched my eye and my vision started to go blurry but I heard a gunshot and we both fell on the floor together. Then I went unconscious. I'm sorry. It's my fault." He smacked the steering wheel frustrated.

Veward patted his shoulder in an attempt to encourage him, "You were rock bro. It's okay."

"It's not your fault you did your best." I said, recalling what I had seen.

My heart started to beat fast again and my breath started to come uneven. My hands went cold as I hugged myself wrapping my arms around myself.

Only the thought of it was so scary, it was my nightmare standing in front of my eyes in reality. The scene I saw in my dream, that person with dark-deep blue eyes and the...the boxing ring...that black atmosphere.

I exhaled deeply looking outside the window. My nightmares were not a dream, they were something else. Like a glimpse of the future or maybe a vision. I couldn't exactly elaborate anything but still... I had a feeling it was visions or might be a few broken glimpses of the future.

Did it mean my all nightmares were visions? What about that same nightmare of darkness that made me always so restless.

"I saw him. He killed him." I said in a dazed state, wrapping my arms around me more securely as the whole scene again revolved in my mind. "That tattoo, that gun, and those eyes..." Veward cut me, "Relax! Forget about it, we will talk about it later."

I did it or at least I tried to did it. But that scene was continuously coming into my mind. I shut my eyes as well as my mouth and leaned on the seat, trying to catch my breath. I saw him. I saw him. Those eyes... those eyes were familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

Who was he? What did he want?

The rest of the drive passed silently. None of us spoke anything. I didn't even open my eyes until we reached home.

************

"You are not going to do anything! Understand?" Daddy yelled, throwing daggers at us.

"Have you seen Bre face?" I said in anger but my voice was low.

"Who said you to go to an illegal street fight?" He again yelled as his voice echoed in the silent study.

"You always do silly things, Marie..." he said, disappointedly looking at me as he turned to Veward, "...and he always follows you but..." Then turned to Bre, "What's wrong with you? How can you be so irresponsible, Brett?"

"I'm sorry sir, but I did what I thought was best." Bre said, looking down. In return, Daddy slammed his hand on the table angrily.

"What you thought was best? That place was illegal yet you went there! Do you have any idea how dangerous it could be! It was a very irresponsible act! I'm very disappointed." Daddy yelled. I wet my lips as it was the first time I had seen him so furious. Despite being scared instead, I sighed.

"We went there because you've stopped the investigation. I couldn't tolerate that my brother's killer is breathing in relief somewhere." I retorted calmly. He let out a deep exhale.

When we entered the house thinking probably everyone would be asleep but it turned out to be totally opposite. They all were sitting in the hall discussing God knows what at 11:00 pm.

We entered carelessly and all eyes focused on us. Regarding Bre's condition and my horrific expression. We ended up in the study attending Daddy's lecture.

But that was good in another way as now I could talk with him openly on this matter.

"I stopped the investigation because no one found any evidence that could prove it a murder. For God's sake, it was an accident, Marie!" He again yelled.

"It wasn't!" I yelled this time, losing my all control over myself. It felt like my blood was boiling and if I didn't scream it, I will surely break something to release this intense anger.

"Stop playing, Marie. This is not a detective game." He sighed.

"It wasn't an accident, it's a planned murder, Daddy." I whispered as tears pooled in my eyes but I didn't let them fall.

"It doesn't matter anymore, sweetheart. Everything is closed now." He said in his soft tone. But it was so late to soft now as my anger had already crossed its limits.

"Nothing is closed Mr. Amino. That person wants to kill us. He wants to destroy the whole Amino. Why? Do you know that?" I was being very rude but that wasn't my fault. The anger inside me was speaking now.

"Mind your language." He looked at me with his threatening gaze but it didn't affect me.

"He has already killed my brother. What if he kills Mom, Caro, and me? Then you can't do anything except regret. Do you want that to happen? Tell me!" I said, fighting back my tears.

"Do you think I don't love my family? He was my son too." He said as a shade of sadness overtook his face.

"Is that so, then hired a professional investigator and re-open this case," I said in a straight tone. Not even caring that I was being very rude to my father.

"I'm not going to do anything like that." He snapped, coming back to his aggressive temperament.

"And why not?" I asked. He looked at me then at Bre and Veward who were watching this whole argument silently. He contemplated over a second before saying.

"I have signed a partnership with Rose enterprises. According to it, if I'll involve in any kind of police matter. That could make us lose a worthy course which would not do any good for our business." He explained and added when he noticed my expressions. "You won't understand it right now. Our company not only belongs to us but thousands of employees are working there and my single decision can destroy their future."

"I'll talk to him. Darren is a really nice person and I'm sure he will understand." I said because I wanted to open this case at any cost.

"No, you're not going to talk to him." Veward whispered enough hearable for me. I glared at him but he wasn't looking at me. I huffed.

"No! You're not going to do anything." Daddy said, running his hand on his hair. So, here we came again at the spot from where we had started.

"But daddy....." He didn't let me complete, "Go back to your room now. It's been already too late. Dismiss!" He ordered strictly, waving his hand in a dismissed manner.

I was the one dragging myself out of this room as he again yelled from behind, "And don't you dare to tell Wilson anything."

I slammed the door shut with a thud. They both looked at me like I had grown two heads. Veward opened his mouth to say something but I was not in the temperament to talk, "Leave me alone." I hissed angrily.

Totally ignoring me, Bre said to Veward. "We have to make a suspect list."

"Liam is on top and then Darren." Veward added. I looked at both of them with disbelief.

"I said leave me ALONE!" With this, I stormed into my room.

I opened the door and stepped inside turning the lights on. When I looked back, I stopped abruptly on my spot. Two creatures of the crystal world were comfortably sitting on my bed.

Noticing my presence, they both grinned mischievously. I raised my brows with wide eyes and hurriedly turned around to locked the door.

"What are you doing here?" I asked once I was sure no one was outside my room and I locked the door perfectly.

"Human weapons are breathtakingly dangerous but awesome at the same time. I mean we can use our spells, powers, weapons... You know swords and arrows but that was more dangerous than our things." Mike said amused. "One shot and that metallic tiny thing will be in your body and that is the end of the game." He added.

"What you say, Walter, we should use these things against vampire, no?" He turned to Walter and asked who glared at him in return.

"Thank god we came at the right time. Are you okay?" Walter asked with concern as he stood up and came forward.

"You control them, right?" I asked.

I knew something was not right. How could they run away when they were willing to kill us? Of course, Walter controlled them.

"Yes because your safety is a foremost thing to me... I mean...to all of us." He said, looking at me with concern bright blue eyes. His eyes were so beautiful and there was a warmth in them. I didn't know, something very unexplainable.

"Thanks for saving me and my friends." I smiled, forgetting how angry I was just a few moments ago.

"Who are they and what kind of a weapon was that?" Mike asked as curiosity was dripping from his voice.

"Long story... but yeah that weapon called a gun," I answered him, knowing how curious was he to know about it.

"Gun sounds interesting." Mike said.

"Interesting! It's very dangerous." I said, making a fake gun from my hand.

"What are you guys doing here by the way?" I again asked, looking at their faces.

"Let's go. It's time to know everything regarding your identity and to accomplish all incomplete tasks, Princess." Walter bowed and my heart skipped a beat.
