Chapter 27: Chapter 27
Marietta P.O.V
The sky was looking so dark yet bright, it was shining. I was looking at stars who were filling the sky with magic. There was always something new to watch in the night sky. Especially, its colors changing in pink, violet, and azure.
Sometimes, there was a moon with stars and sometimes the stars were alone but they never stop shining. But when the moon and stars were together, they celebrate the brightest night of the month.
After so long, I got the chance to enjoy the beauty of the night. Because of the ups and downs of my tragic life, I had forgotten about the little things I loved to do for myself.
I was sitting alone on the roof, looking at the sky.
Two days had already passed and only one day had left. I didn't get the chance to meet him. I had an appointment with him but Mr. Wilson was so busy with his work that he didn't even give me his little glimpse. Wait...he did give me a little tiny one.
When he came out of his office, probably for going home. I tried to talk with him but he said and I quote, 'Once I leave office, I don't talk about business matters anymore.' With that, he left. Too much arrogance, right?
Well at least, very bad for me as my two days got wasted because of his damn busy routine and not to mention his ignoring existence. Now, tomorrow I was going to try my luck. I didn't know what would happen, let just hope for the best. I had already missed two days and now it was like tomorrow or never.
That ring which Mike gave me, I was wearing it in my left hand. I looked at it and started to rotate it on my finger.
That day, he was talking weirdly, his whole appearance was giving me strange vibes. I didn't know... I just felt he was different. I had met him once and it was enough to know a person's personality...maybe... I didn't know but I felt he was being serious whereas he had a kind of jolly personality. Or maybe it was just... I was overthinking.
I again looked up at the sky, sleep was nowhere to hit me. So I decided to enjoy the night sky. I wasn't feeling well for the past two days. Something was not right but I couldn't understand what was it?
After spending the whole night with stars, when the sun rose, I came to my room, took a shower, and get dressed. Picking my bag and phone, I went downstairs to the dining hall.
As expected, Daddy was already there reading his newspaper as usual. Mom was drinking her orange juice while Anna was telling her about today's schedule. While Caro was nowhere to be seen, as usual.
"Good Morning!" I greeted them and sat on the chair.
Mom smiled, "Morning honey!"
Daddy angled his head from the newspaper, looked at me, and said, "Today..." I didn't let him complete his sentence and interrupted, "I know. I won't disappoint you." He just simply nodded and continued to read his paper
"If that Wilson is showing so many tantrums then why are you trying so hard? Just let it be... Find someone else for your project." Mom said to no one in particular.
"Well, this is her test and my condition if she wants to do business. Besides, that's her choice." Daddy said to Mom.
"Whatever. But what if she got failed?" Mom asked, eyeing me worriedly. I looked at Dad and tried to read his facial expressions but of no use.
"We will see it then." Daddy said causally and stood up. Mom watched as Daddy walked out. She sighed and shook her head in disappointment.
"Don't worry. I won't disappoint him." I assured her with a sweet smile and also stood up.
"You've to do this for yourself." Mom said and I nodded at her.
I drove myself to the building of Rose Enterprises again. I let out a deep breath and went direct towards the receptionist. She looked at me and called Mr. Wilson secretary. She nodded in understanding and led me to his cabin. Asking me to wait, she went inside.
I was as nervous as hell. What if he refused again? What if he again asked to wait? What would I do then? I felt suffocated and started to pace to and fro, holding the file tight in my hands.
I had worn a white pencil skirt with a royal blue blouse while my hair was tied in a loose pony with some locks framing my face. With light makeup, I was looking quite presentable. You knew in the business impression matters the most.
After 2 minutes, she finally came out and pointed me to go inside with a smile. I gasped in shock. Did he agree to meet me? I was so stunned but embracing myself, I moved towards the door of his cabin.
My heart started to beat fast. I composed myself and reminded, again and again, that it was just a meeting and I just had to take his signatures. Taking a sharp breath in, I gripped the knob and pushed the door open.
A gray-white cabin greeted me. Everything inside screamed perfection and wealth, I looked around as every little thing seemed to be at the exact place. I looked at the mahogany desk where a man was sitting on the head chair, too engrossed in a file.
He was wearing a brown tuxedo, his brows hairs were messy as if he just ran a hand through them. His facial features were sharp and arrogant just like his personality, sharp jawline, thin lips, and fair skin tone. He must have attracted me only if he won't happen to be a pretty handsome jerk.
"Please sit." He said in a soft voice still looking at the file in front of him. I walked forward to his desk, pulled a chair, and sat down.
"Yes, how can I help you?" He said in a soft tone with a smile and looked at me. Oh my God, he was damn handsome. Have I ever said that he was arrogant?
"I'm Marietta Amino," I said with a gentle smile, hiding my inner thoughts.
"Yes, I've heard about you. Please continue." He nodded his head.
"As you already know our companies decide to have a collaborative project that will benefit both companies. We are just a signature away to start it. I'm here for your signature, Mr. Wilson. So that we could start our work as soon as possible." I said and gestured the file towards him. He nodded, took the file, and started to read it.
"I have been very busy for a while. That's why I don't get much time and it took so long to finalize it. I'm really sorry for annoying you guys so much." He said, smiling politely.
I looked at him in disbelief. His tone of talking and facial features were so different. By face, he seemed arrogant but his tone of speaking was so gentle, polite, friendly, and calm.
Who said him arrogant through?
"Miss. Amino, is everything alright?" He asked, making me blink my eyes. I felt so embarrassed, he just caught me staring at him.
"Oh yeah..." I cleared my throat. "I thought you were....." I trailed off.
"Arrogant type of a person." He completed my sentence and laughed. "Well, I am. But for them who deserve that kind of behavior. I have some rules and when I followed them people think I'm arrogant." He shrugged with that smile never leaving his face.
"I see." I nodded. That really didn't explain why he kept me waiting for two days. Anyway...
"So, are you going to sign this project?" I asked.
"What will benefit me?" He asked. Wasn't he already know the benefits? According to my information, they had already discussed the facts and figures but the delay was on the sign.
"If our companies collaborate it will benefit both of us. Rate of shares will increase, marketing price will increase and most of all..."
"But that will benefit my business, not me." He interrupted with a smudged smirk.
"Sorry?" I raised my brows.
He laughed and then said, "Relax! I am just kidding." Then picking a pen, he signed the documents in a second.
"It's a pleasure to meet you and please call me Darren." He said and gave me the file.
"It's a pleasure to meet you too and you can call me Marie." I replied, checking his signature, and stood up.
He also stood up and gestured his hand for a shake and I shook it. I walked forward to the door as he followed. He even opened the door for me like a gentleman and said, "Hopefully, we will meet soon. I'm really looking forwards to work on this project with you."
"Likewise." I smiled and looked at his face. And for the first time, I noticed his royal blue eyes. I nodded and walked out of that building.
'His eyes have something in them. But what?'
After sitting in the car, I opened the file and looked at the signature. I did it. Oh my God, OH MY GOD! I really did it. It wasn't difficult at all. He was not arrogant either, instead, a nice person. Opposite to his personality and looks. I drove straight back to the office.
Hoping out, I threw the keys towards the guard and rushed towards Daddy's cabin. With a knock, I opened the door.
He was leaning back on his chair with a straight business face. I stood in front of his desk with a huge smile. Placing the file in front of him, I hardly controlled my happiness and excitement as I said,
"Signature of Mr. Darren Wilson, sir."
He looked at me for a moment then straightened up, put his glasses on, picked the file, and started to read it. At the same time, Caro came inside. She looked at me then on the file in Daddy's hand.
"You....got it?" She asked with disbelief clear in her voice.
"Yeah!" I replied with a crystal bright smile.
"Congratulations." She said nonchalantly.
"How?" Daddy asked, placing the file down.
"It was easy. He seems a nice person," I replied.
"Nice person!?! That Darren Wilson? Are you sure you meet the right person? Are these signatures real?" Caro asked too shocked.
I looked at her confused. He was such a nice person how could they call him arrogant? Well, I did think that too but once I met him, I changed my opinion.
"Good. As I've said, I'm giving you back your shares. Welcome officially in our business." Daddy stood up and came forward to hug me with a warm welcoming smile. I hugged back tightly. I didn't remember when last I hug my Daddy, it been so long. We pulled apart and I smiled at him which he returned.
"You check the sign carefully?" Caro asked. She was looking still confused and shocked.
"Yes, they are original." Daddy replied but she looked lost in her thoughts.
"Caro, arrange a conference tomorrow. Invite Mr. Wilson, We need to discuss some detailed plots." Daddy said. She nodded and left.
Then he called Lisa and told her to prepare the paper for transferring my shares back to me. Because of Alessandro and Mia's death, shares were going to be more double. Including today's incident, I was again the major shareholder of Aminos.
Finally!!! I wanted to dance in happiness but controlled it for some reasons. I completed the first step. I was so happy that I couldn't explain it in words, other than saying I am happy.
I walked out of Daddy's cabin when Lisa said, "Congratulations Ma'am!"
"Thank you!" I smiled.
I came to Bre's cabin to tell him that I did it but he was not there. So, I didn't get the chance to tell him. The whole day passed in a blur as I signed some more official documents of the share transfer.
Mom congratulated me on a phone call. And the duty to told me 'What to do or how to do?' was given to Caro. Trust me I enjoyed the whole day. It doesn't matter that she was just doing her job, I was with her and that was perfect.
I was so much happy that I forgot about my non-understandable condition. The strange feeling, the crystal world, the blue-eyed guy, and everything in the world.
When I came home. I looked around for my two idiots and found them in the study room. They were doing something on the laptop. I went inside and let out all my excitement which I was holding for so long. I started to jump up and down in excitement and excitedly said, "I did it!"
"You did it!!"
They both repeated in unison and started to jump along with me. When we got tired of jumping, we decided to sit.
"But How?" Bre asked.
"He's a nice man," I replied.
Bre chuckled, "Don't joke. You're talking about the most arrogant person."
"No bro, he's not," I said to him.
Why everyone kept on saying that he was the most arrogant person? When he was actually not.
"Alright. What about celebrating your success?" Veward said.
"Not today, maybe... tomorrow. I'm a bit tired. I need some sleep." I said. I hadn't slept last night. Those strange vibes didn't let me and now when I got a little peace of mind all I wanted to do was sleep.
"Okay, tomorrow is done." Veward said with a smile.
"Let's talk about some serious business then..." Bre said to which Veward interrupted with a glare. "She is tired now.....let her rest first."
I noticed both of them very clearly but didn't say anything. It was clear that they were hiding something but I didn't bother to ask. They would spill on their own. I knew them.
I came out and Mom caught me. She first hugged me then patted my back as she said, "Congratulations! I am so proud of you but it's just the beginning. There is still a long way to go." I smiled at her words.
I again started to feel uncomfortable and I didn't find any word that could explain my condition. It was a strange feeling doing something inside me. It didn't let me sleep last night and now it came again. I felt as if, there was a strange conflict going on inside me, a very weird feeling.
Maybe Mom had noticed my weird facial expressions as she asked, "Are you ok?"
I just simply nodded. "Mom, I need some rest. Can I go to my room?"
She kissed my forehead and said, "You're my only hope. Go rest for a while."
Leaving her behind, I came to my room and closed the door. I sat on the bed but did not feel comfortable. Then I started to pace around in my room but still, there was something wrong with me.
I was feeling so suffocated.
I looked outside the window, it was getting darker. Then my eyes moved towards the trees, which were hiding in the dark looking strangely inviting. Those dark trees with dark shadows were attracting me. I looked at them with my blue eyes. I wanted to go there. I was feeling suffocating inside and those trees in the dark were looking so inviting.
Within a minute, I was out of my room, then out of the mansion, without thinking of the consequence.
