Chapter 22: Chapter 22

Marietta P.O.V

My hands were moving in a fixed momentum on the keys. My eyes were closed and my hands were pacing rapidly according to the demand of 'Fur Elise' by Beethoven. It was one of my favorite piano tunes.

I was playing the piano but my mind was struggling somewhere else. Yesterday night, Cops found John - my driver; dead.

The movements of my fingers increased. As a scene appeared in front of my closed eyes. A scene of today morning when two cops came with a picture, for a formality work. They didn't let the news spread of John's death on media, all thanks to my powerful businessman Daddy. The case was officially closed now and no one was going to investigate anything.

He had a wife and a 9-year-old son, although Daddy promised John's wife that he would take the financial responsibility of his child and her still he couldn't provide her justice.

Cops came with a picture in which John's body was swelled badly and his face was barely identified. His face was blue and so eyes were opened and jaw clenched tight. The picture of John in such a bad condition made my heart once again shutter and I missed a key of Fur Elise, which caused me to stop my fingers, I exhaled loudly and continued to play the piano again.

Once again my fingers started to flow with the rhythm on the keys. My eyes were still closed.

'You were missing for 48 hours.'

Anna's voice echoed in my ears and I increased the pacing of my fingers now, they were moving rapidly.

'We are the official guardians of the crystal world, you are in the crystal world, far away from the human world. We are immortals.'

I again skipped a key but continued to play anyways. My fingers were hurting now.

'If you tell anyone about our world. You will be responsible for the consequence. Understand?'

I clenched my eyes tightly as Peter's threatening voice echoed in my mind. I again skipped two keys and shot my eyes open. My fingers were hurting now and my head was throbbing hard.

I looked at the sunset view in front of me through the big window. The sun was setting very calmly, slowly, and slowly going down. The orange area around it and the dimly blue sky with birds going back to their houses. It was so peaceful.

After the news of John and looking at his picture, I felt so uneasy that I spend a whole day here; in my music school playing different tunes on the piano.

"You know music is the voice of the soul." I heard a voice and I angled my head towards the source of it.

"How can you play it when there are so many voices distracting you?" She asked, stopping beside the piano.

"Then what do I do?" I asked, looking at her soft green eyes which were full of hope and brightness.

She was looking as same as always. Perfectly makeup green eyes, a mask covering her face and hoodie on her head and a sword attached to her back. She was black from head to toe; my Masked Savior.

"Don't trust anyone. Especially on those people, whom you don't know." She retorted in a perfect accented voice and shrugged.

"How did you save me?" I asked her the question which was eating me inside.

"I did save your life but from the car not from that vampire." She said, stepping towards the table.

"You didn't save me from that vampire?" I asked her and she shook her head. Then maybe someone from the crustal world saved me...

She picked my phone from the table, switched it on, and handed it to me. I had turned it off because I was supposed to go office today and met Daddy but instead I came here.

Once it was on, there were lots of messages from Bre and Veward in which they were scolding me and were disappointed with my behavior. Some emails from different sources but an unknown mail caught my sight. I furrowed my brows in confusion.

I looked up to found no one in the room. She had gone again without giving me proper replies but her voice boomed inside my mind, 'Don't trust the people. Especially those whom you don't know.'

I opened my mailbox to check the mail. It was from an unknown and had an attached file. I opened the attached file and it was..............

"Damn it!" I cursed as I grabbed my bag and coat, throwing my phone in the bag, I ran towards the elevator. Not before texting Veward and Bre to meet me in my room.

My head started to ache thinking about it. It looked like everything was revolving around me. The elevator opened with a ding sound and I walked out of it, straight towards my car.

***********

When I reached home it was 7:20 pm and still, there was no one home. Anna told me they all would be late tonight because of the tough-and-tight schedule of the office.

So without wasting further time, I trudged towards my room. Throwing my bag and coat on the bed, I trudged towards my desk and opened my laptop. I spent some damn 3 hours to find the best tattoo makers in our city. I noted them on a paper and search more about them.

My phone rang and without looking at the caller ID, I answered it, "Hello!"

There was pure silence on the other side, kind of pin-drop silence. I creased my brows when I hear harshed breathing of someone. I pulled it away to looked at the caller ID and it was an unknown number. I pulled it back to my ear.

"Who is there? Who are you? Hello!!!!" I again asked.

"I have sent you an email. It can help you." A low, really low muffled voice spoke and the call dropped.

I was perplexed. What just happened? I looked at the phone screen with a bewildered state. Why the hell all the troubles had to knock on my door? Didn't they find someone else instead of me?

That unknown person had sent me that video. Why? Who was he?

I called back on that number but it was not reachable. I placed the phone on the table and turned towards my laptop to search what I was supposed to search here. My phone rang again and I froze, accepting it would be that unknown person again but it was Veward.

"Where are you?" He asked.

"In my room. Why?" I asked and clicked on the search bar.

"OK." He cut the call. I looked at the phone confused but placing it back on the table, I looked at the laptop and opened my mailbox.

It was the video of that blue-eyed guy from the control room when he was threatening Antonio, played on the screen but a little edited. It was focused on that blue-eyed guy's hand. He was showing a gun but there was something else that had caught my attention.

His creepy tattoo!

It seemed like a skull enclosed with a snake. A snake with a skull or a skull with a snake. Geez! What a confusing tattoo. It was a skull, face skull and a snake was rounded around it.

It could help us to find that blue-eyed guy. With the help of that tattoo, it might be possible to find him.

I carried my laptop along with the list and walked out of the room when I bumped into someone's chest. But before I could kiss the ground, he held me. His muscular scent was irritating and I know who it was. I hurriedly made a reasonable distance between us.

"Be careful, beautiful! What's the matter?" He smirked.

"What are you doing here in sleeping hours!?" It was Veward who snapped angrily, passing daggers at Liam.

I clutched my laptop tightly, don't ask why?

"I have the same question for you," Liam smirked but noticing Veward frowned deepened. He added, "Nothing, I was missing my girlfriend. So came to meet her."

"Caro room is there! Not here!" Veward retorted, pointing behind him with a poker face.

"I know!" Liam smirked and winked. Passing more daggers at each other finally, Liam was the one who left first. Veward turned towards me with a poker face, "What are YOU doing here?"

"This is my house. Why are you angry at me?" I asked innocently when my own heart was beating madly.

Soon, we were sitting in Bre's room. His room was simple with white furniture and well-managed things, opposite to his mischievous personality.

We were sitting on the bed in a circle with my laptop in the center. I told them about the camera and footage, then about the mail and phone call. Then I showed them the video.

"I received that mail in the morning but...." Veward cut me, "But your phone was off so you checked it now, right?" He said with a poker face.

"I checked it before texting you," I said annoyed.

"What's wrong with you? You were in a good mood just 10 minutes ago. Now, what happened?" Bre asked, looking at Mr. Moody.

"Anything useful?" Veward asked, ignoring Bre's question.

"I have already told you, it's a jackpot only if we use it properly." I said, pointing towards the tattoo and the list.

What was wrong with him? Bre looked at me and I shrugged. I didn't know what made his mood so bad.

"So, we have to find that tattoo maker. It can be our first step towards the truth." Bre said, staring at the tattoo then at the list. He was right, a step towards the real culprit. I shivered at the thought of that person.

He was fear. He killed people like cutting kites from the sky yet there was no one finding him, stopping him. Because everyone suspected me so no one was going behind the real culprit and now the case was officially closed. Damn it!

I would catch him for sure, to clear my name and gave every person justice whom he had killed.

"Who send you the email?" Veward asked. I internally slapped my forehead. What was the use of telling him everything first when he was going to ask again?

"I don't know. First, I received this mail from an unknown and a call. He said he have sent a mail and it could help us. He was an anonymous person. I DON'T KNOW HIM!" I told him once again everything and yelled the last part.

"This number looks familiar," Veward said, staring at my phone and ignoring my annoyance. Then he took his phone out and started to check something.

Bre gave me a pitiful smile. And I literally wanted to kick this moody man out of the bed.

"Fuck!" He said and I glared at him. I hate that word. Then he mumbled a 'Sorry' with the same poker expressions. Then said, "That number belongs to Antonio."

"Antonio?" Bre and I asked. Antonio? How did he get my number?

"Wait a minute. It means this guy is in trouble?" Bre said and they both exchange looks before running out of the room.

"I will come with you." I said but Veward glared at me and said in a warned tone. "Stay here!"

I didn't do anything except silently coming into my room. And here, someone was sitting on the bed, waiting for me. Looking at me, he showed his sheepish smile.

"Hello, beautiful once again!" He said.
