Alexander’s POV

My hands were tied with the rope and my own men were throwing punches at me like I was their personal punching bag. Well, I couldn’t blame them, they were just following my father’s orders. And my father was doing this so that he would force to come here.

‘And knowing how stupid werewolves are when the things come to their mate, she will surely come.’

Damn it!

But didn’t I do the same when she was in danger? It meant I was stupid too.

Wow! Two stupids fell in love with each other. Wasn’t that great?

I was coughing up blood, but at the same time, I was praying in my head that Amber shouldn’t come here at any cost. I could take unlimited punches and kicks to save her.

“Unbelievable.”. My father commented and looked at me as if I was his biggest disappointment. Truth to do be told I did feel guilty for making him in this way but I didn’t regret falling in love with a werewolf and trying my best to keep her safe.

I winced when one of the men threw a punch in my face. Damned it, now it was getting hard for me to handle the pain. I think I would get unconscious anytime.

Every time I closed my eyes to suppress the pain, I pictured Amber in front of my eyes and that was all the encouragement that I needed to keep handling the pain.

“DON’T HIT ON HIS HEAD”, My father roared. “ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE HIM SERIOUS INJURY?”, He demanded. “Leave for now and keep an eye on the main door. I’m sure that bitch will be arriving here anytime soon.”

Once they left, my father reached near me and untied my hand.

“It seems like you have forgotten what I have taught you all your life. We’re are hunters and we can’t fall in love with our prey.”, He again tried to brainwash me. Like seriously, dad? Did he really think that his words could change my mind? “Don’t you feel ashamed for falling in love with an animal? She has the same blood and flesh in her body that the killer of your mother had. I won’t believe anyone will say that you were unaware of all the things because just like me you are way smarter than me. Then how is it that you’ve still managed to be caught up in her trap? I have always been proud of you, I thought you were stronger than me who doesn’t feel anything for any woman, in that way you won’t have any weakness. Yet you do the exact opposite.”

“I have listened to you all my life, father. Can’t I hear my heart for once?”

“No.”, He shouted angrily. “You chose the wrong person and that’s why I will get rid of her for good.”

My entire body turns stiff at his threat. “If that’s the case then I won’t let you do that, father. I have always listened to every single one of your orders, but this time you’re crossing the line. I would not just sit back and let you hurt her.”

“Well, we will see about that.”

“Sir, Nicolaus! We found the girl”, I heard one of the men speaking. Immediately my body tensed hearing him.

“Where’s she?”

The man looked a bit hesitant while asking and finally he answered. “In our house….I mean I found our guards sleeping like there’s no tomorrow.”

“Find that bitch and bring her here.”, My father roared and stormed out of the room where I was being tortured. I wiped the blood from my mouth and tried to stand up despite my wobbly legs.

Amber’s POV

I had no idea how I would have handled everything on my own if Mr. Davis would not have offered his help. I tried to thank him but he said his infamous line again, ‘HE WAS DOING THIS FOR LILY. BECAUSE SHE DON’T WANT HER FAVORITE BROTHER TO LOSE HIS LOVE.’

I didn’t know how but Alex maintained to fulfill his promise to send unconscious Lily at his pack by the end of the day through Marcus. Though I knew through my mate bond about all the hits that my mate was taking but Marcus’s confirmation just boiled my blood.

My wolf was going crazy and swore not to forgive his father for what he had done to our mate.

“You are surely thinking about your death wish if you’re planning to visit him.”, Mr. Davis said reading my mind.

“Would you have left your mate if you would have been at my position?”, I counter back.

“But Mr. Davis is right.”

“And I don’t give a damn about being right or wrong. All I know is that my mate is in pain and I’m going there to save him.”

“My father won’t kill him. He’s just using him as bait to trap you.”

I narrowed my eyes and pressed my lips in a thin line, stopping myself from snapping at him.

“I’m leaving.”, I announced before walking out of there.

“You can’t even reach near him without my help.”, I heard Marcus speaking. “I know where exactly guards are! And how many guards are! And that types of weapons they have!”, He added.

I turned around to face him and he just shrugged. “What? Do you think that my brother can live alive and happy if anything happens to you? So, obviously, I won’t let you go there alone.”

“Thank you, Marcus.”, I said, feeling grateful.

“Do you guys really think that you two can manage to handle that many hunters on your own without my help?”, Mr. Davis interrupted now. “You?”, He said, staring into my eyes. “You don’t even know how to shift? And you are talking about saving your mate? Seriously, what do you think you’re doing?”, He asked.

“Some decisions aren’t taken in hurry. We have to make a plan before going there.”

As much as I hated to admit but he was right. Moreover, I was surprised at his words. That was the last thing I expected him to say to me. But then, he had said to help Alex in this situation.

“Fine then, let’s make a plan.”

“First, our plan is to bring Alex alive and in one piece from there without creating any war.”, Mr. Davis started. “Because a war against the hunters will not be an easy fight especially when we have a limited number of people.”

Marcus and I nodded our heads. Marcus was helping me because of his brother but I was sure he would never want any of his men to get hurt in this process. And same goes with me, Alex was my only family and I didn’t want him to harm any of his loved ones. We all had people that we couldn’t risk living without in our lives, and they were all being put at risk, the movement we plan to ambush the leader of the hunter organization.

“Security in our residence is tight because my father made sure to give a grand welcome to my brother’s bride.”, Marcus explained to us. “But since you have me and Ms. Potter, we stand a chance to sneak inside the mansion. Also, I have an idea of when will be the best time to strike.”

Mr. Davis nodded, “And when do you think that will be?”

Marcus scratched his chin, “Simple after dinner, I will ask Ms. Potter to add sleeping pills in the food so that instead of guarding our mansion. Our guards will sleep peacefully and those who will not eat the dinner for any reason then we will have tackled them.”

And after that Marcus made a rough map of his father’s mansion and explained each and every detail of it. I looked at his face and realized that when he gets serious, he looked just like my mate. Generally, he managed to have a smile and a charming personality around.

“Either you are coming out, bitch, or I will cut your mate into pieces”, His father roared, after finding almost 90-95% of his guards sleeping. Well, I could understand his anger, if this situation had been different then I would have laughed at him loudly.

“I said come out.”, He roared. I signaled Mr. Davis, Nate, and Marcus to stay hidden at their place. I didn’t want them in trouble. With the help of Mr. Potter, no one get caught in the CCTV camera, so there was no chance Nicolaus Stone had any idea right now that you had helped me in this situation.

I finally came out of my hidden place because I was not interested in playing the game of hiding and seek. By the time, I will handle Nicolaus, Marcus could check whether his brother was and help him to escape from here.

“You, you’re the reason because of which my son disobeyed me for the first time.”

“He would not have disobeyed you if you would have accepted his love for me.”, I said, trying to explain to him the reason behind his son’s action.

But instead of understanding the things, his eyes darkened with so much anger and hatred that he wanted to kill me for speaking those words to him.

“Neither am I going to accept his love for you nor you, you bitch!”, saying this he took out the gun from his waist and shot in my direction. Thanks to my vision, I could easily see the silver bullet coming toward me and I leaned down.

Damn it! This man surely hated me with everything in him.

I grinned widely, teasing him after knowing that all the six bullets of his gun got wasted.

“Now what will you do?”

He too gave me an evil smile before speaking, “I have another one as well.”

‘Oh no! I’m so dead.’

I looked around and found a few guards had arrived there, holding silver chains in their hands. I knew that I had to attack them along with saving myself from silver. I so much wanted to convert into a wolf and charge at them but I had no idea how to convert into a wolf.

I had no idea how I shifted that night.

“Catch that bitch.”, Nicolaus ordered and the race started in the living room, where I was running from here and there, thanking Lily’s training.

“What the hell are you doing? Can’t you catch a girl who’s jumping here and there like a monkey?”, He roared, directing his anger to his men. I relaxed a little, seeing Marcus taking injured Alex with him. I smiled, knowing that finally, our plan was working. But the wheels in my feet came to a halt when I cried in pain because Nicolaus shot in my leg.

I tried to run with my injured leg but miserably failed when those guards got a hand on me, trying my hand and neck with the silver chains.

“Aaahhhh”

“There…there…there!!! Finally, the game of Tom and Jerry came to an end. Now it’s time to end everything.”, Saying this, he pulled the trigger of the gun at me.

“Nooooooo!!!!”, I screamed, when I saw the figure, taking the bullet on him. I tried my hardest to pull my hands out of the silver chains.

“Xander!!!”, Nicolaus shouted and for the first time, his voice was laced with pain and shock instead of anger. He quickly ran toward the falling figure of my mate. I was still trying to free myself. “WHY DID YOU DO THAT?”

“I…I forgot to tell you that….if you want to kill her then..then you have to kill me first.”, He said and turned his face toward me to give me a smile. I saw Marcus running toward his brother.

He was in pain.

He was in pain again because of me.

“LEAVE THE BITCH AND CALL THE DOCTOR!!!”, Nicolaus roared when Alex’s eyes began to close. I quickly reached near my mate, pulling his body from his father’s lap to mine.

“Alex…Alex!!”, I cried. “Please open your eyes.”, I tried to cover his wound with my hand to stop from bleeding. I so much wanted to kill his father but I knew Alex would never want me to hurt his father in any way.

“You…You snatched my son from me and I will snatch all your happiness from you.”, Nicolaus threatened before leaving from there.
