Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Amber’s POV

It didn’t take much time to find Lily and all thanks to my wolf for that. My body fumed with rage, fire burning through my skin when I saw two men were taking her someway while Aurora was the one who was guiding them.

By smelling the aura, I realized that they had drugged her drink. I ran toward them but too late, they already left by settling in the car. I ran after the car but no matter how fast I ran, I couldn’t compare to the speed of the car.

Even though I couldn’t see the car on the road, I ran like an idiot on the road.

‘I have to save her. I have to save her at any cost.’

I wished I could shift but I had no idea how to do that because I had never shifted before nor seen someone shifting in front of my eye for ages.

I tried to focus my mind so that I could shift but nothing happened.

‘There is no other way than to run. Run as fast as you can because if you won’t then we will miss her scent as well.’, Reminded my wolf when I stopped running. I nodded my head and resumed running.

‘By this way.’, She guided me through the forest.

I didn’t think twice and followed her instinct.

Thanks to her power, I could see everything clearly even though it was dark.

After running for god knows how long, I finally spotted them in the jungle. Both of the men were digging graves in the ground while Lily was lying unconscious on the ground and Aurora was standing alert near Lily’s body.

“I know you’re here OR I’ll kill this girl.”, Shouted Aurora, looking around. Her wolf might have smelt my scent but guess what, I gave a damn to that fact.

I slowly appeared in front of them from my hidden place and walked toward them. “Let my friend go and I promise, I will not tell anyone about this incident with anyone”, I said, approaching them.

“Do you really think that you’re in a position to negotiate? One against three, really!”

I knew that was coming but both I and my wolf agreed to deal with them no matter what it cost but we had to save our friend.

“Try me!”, I growled at her angrily.

Immediately they were taken aback hearing my growl but then not just they, even I was shocked to observe this. Because this was the first time, I had growled. Earlier I didn’t use to feel my wolf with me whenever I used to open my big mouth in front of Alpha or Luna or Samantha.

But now, I was not alone and I could feel my wolf agreeing to it.

“She’s our enemy and her family has killed many innocent werewolves like us.”, Aurora said loudly.

“Guess what? I give a damn about that fact. And there is no way I will let you hurt Lily.”

“You bitch”, She growled and jumped on me but I easily dodged her attack and hit her right on her head, making her fall on the ground. She tried to stand on her feet but I growled at her, warning her to stay just at her place while glaring at those men.

I knelt down and checked on Lily. She looked fine.

“Let us go if you don’t want her family to each one of you.”, I threatened.

“Who…who are you?”, Aurora asked in surprise.

“Huh?”

“I mean why are you staying with these our enemies and these pathetic humans? You should build your own pack.”, I picked Lily in my arms while hearing Aurora’s nonsense at the same thing.

“Build my own pack?”, I chuckled. “Have you ever heard that an Omega ruled a werewolf pack?”, I asked in a sarcastic tone.

“Omega?”, One of the men asked in surprise, on which I nodded my head.

“I’m an Omega.”

“But..but your wolf has an Alpha Aura,”, Another one said.

Before I could have asked or said something, my phone started ringing. I swiped the screen, knowing that Alex was surely going to eat me alive after finding out that both Lily and I were not at Aurora’s house.

“The driver said…”

I cut him off in between. “We are already on the way home. Aurora insisted on dropping us home and we can’t deny her offer.”, I lied again.

I realized that I was lying a lot and at this speed, I would surely get a Master's in lying.

“Fine. 20 Minutes. If you will take a second more than that then you won’t be able to go to the house ever in your life.”

Once the call was disconnected, I looked at Aurora before speaking, “Drop us home as soon as possible if you don’t want to be killed by my future husband.”

“You won’t tell him about us, right?”

“Depends if we reach home before 19 minutes.”

“But…but that’s impossible and…”

“Your time has started now.”

“Thanks”, I genuinely smiled at Aurora when we reached home in exactly 17 minutes. But to make that happen she had broken a lot of traffic rules and now she had to deal with those traffic police. But I guess she could bear this punishment for abducting Lily.

“You won’t tell him about us, right?”, She asked again.

“I won’t.”, I said and put Lily’s arm around my shoulder for support as we walked toward the main gate. The guards immediately recognized us and one of them offered his help to carry Lily. I reluctantly agreed and he carried Lily in his arms. I finally saw Ms. Potter when I entered inside. I gave her a small smile but didn’t receive any smile in return.

In fact, she looked pissed.

“Are you mad at me?”

“Really, Amber? You’re asking this?”, She questioned back, making my mouth shut. She was really pissed. But what could I say now?

She took Lily to her room and made her lay on the bed and then started changing her clothes. There was pin-drop silence in the room and the atmosphere in the room was making me uncomfortable. All of the sudden, she started yelling.

“I don’t understand what you guys were thinking while sneaking out of the house? Do you know how mad boss is at this moment? I don’t think you can even recognize your own room. I tried hard to stop him from tracking down you two. Did you know he was that angry at that time that he wanted to break the legs of you both?”

I gulped nervously when I heard that.

“And how the hell Lily dared to drink Alcohol when she was with you?”, She yelled at unconscious Lily. I wanted to save her from getting scolded by Ms. Potter but then I would have to tell her the complete truth and I couldn’t risk spilling everything tonight. “Amber, you need to understand that everything comes with a price. You can have all the things in the world but at the price of your freedom. You just can’t roam freely like a normal person. Who knows who will end up hurting you!”, She exclaimed.

“But we’re not alone. We had one another’s back.”

“Yeah! And I can see that.”, She said in a sarcastic tone. “I will deal with her tomorrow morning.”

I felt sorry for Lily. I knew both Ms. Potter and Alex would give her a hard time for taking me with her and on the top for returning home drunk, which she didn’t do intentionally.

“Now, sweetheart! You have to tame the beast because he’s out of control.”, Ms. Potter said, which I gulped nervously. I could barely breathe.

Even my wolf could feel my mate’s anger.

“He’s waiting for you in your room.”, She said and I started walking slowly toward our room.

With every step on the stairs, I felt like I was walking toward the storm, the storm which comes after the silence.

I took a deep breath before walking inside the room because the door was already open.

I smelt the scent of blood and observed his wounded hand. Then I looked around the room, and trust me, I couldn’t recognize that this was the same room where I was staying.
