Chapter 80: Chapter 80

Another call goes out.

"Hey Ted"

"What's up D?"

"Listen I need to talk to you."

"What's wrong?"

"Marissa and I are being accused of murder. They're also accusing her of tampering with evidence."

"Have you been arrested?"

"No, some detectives just came to ask me questions"

"If they haven't arrested you yet, it's because they don't have enough evidence. Don't worry about it. Doesn't Marissa work at the police station? What does she have to say?"

"She hasn't really said anything Yet. We're supposed to talk about it at home tonight. Ted, they might not have evidence but this is big. I had an affair with the girl who was murder."

"Ah, hell Daniel! Why couldn't you just keep it in your pants?! I have to ask you D,"

"Ask me what?"

"You know as your lawyer and best friend, I have to ask, did you do it?"

"No! You really think I'm capable of murder?"

"No, but now that we got that out of the way, swing by my office at six. Until then, I'll find out what they know."

The call ends.

"So I guess he really didn't do it," I say in disappointment.

"No," Chandler says " but maybe Marissa did.. Did you hear her on the phone? She didn't deny it."

"Yeah, but she also never admitted it," Greg says. "but you're right, she did seem guilty. I wish we bugged his house."

"There was one more call made this afternoon from Daniel?" Connor interrupts

He presses play.

"Hey Chris,"

"Hi dad"

"Do you know where your mom is? "I've been trying to reach her. The last time I spoke to her was this morning."

"No, I haven't seen her today. She left early to go to the station."

"Uh, uh-okay."

"Is everything okay dad?"

"Yeah son, just some troubles at work. Nothing your old man can't handle. I'll see you soon okay."

"Bye, dad."

"I love you Christopher"

The phone call ends.

That voice on the phone. It sounds very familiar. Memories come full speed back to my head.

He get's up from rapping me. "Alright Max, she's all yours"

I quickly grab the laptop and look through pictures on the dean's Facebook. There he is right in front of me on the computer screen. The blond -haired guy. The guy who raped me.

"Well go get her, Chris!" The blond-haired guy bolts after me and I fall down the stairs. He picks me up brings me to the room. He lays me on the floor next to Jade's dead body. He pulls off his pants. "Now it's your turn," he says before raping me.

I drop the laptop. I feel sick.

"Are you alright?" Connor looks concerned.

I start breathing heavily. My heart is racing fast. I'm sweating. I can't breathe. I can't br... I faint.

When I awake, I'm laying down on my bed with a cold rag on my forehead.

My head hurts.

I get up and walk to the bathroom. I splash water on my face.

I then walk out to the living room and everybody's on the couch talking.

"What's up guys?"

"Mia!" Connor gets up and hugs me. He looks me in the eyes. "I'm glad you're okay." I smile.

"At first, we didn't understand why you fainted, but Connor showed us the picture. The dean's son is the one who killed Jade and raped you. Now all we have to do is prove it."

A call comes to Chandler's phone. He answers it.

We look at him as he finishes up the phone call. "I think I just proved it," he says. "That was the lab. The Baby did belong to the Dean, however, it wasn't his sperm DNA on Jade that night."

"How does that help us?" I ask.

"The DNA showed a match that whoever did rape Jade was related to the Dean... Like his son."

"I just got off the phone with the judge. He has granted a warrant for Christopher's arrest tomorrow."

"What about Marissa?" I ask.

"I've spoken to my lieutenant. He's looking into the information that I gave him. He will be at the station when I arrest Chris."

"Can I come?" The words blurt out of my mouth. I already know the answer to that.

"Sorry, it's too dangerous. But if you want, Greg can keep you on the line so you can here what's happening."

"Okay," I agree.

"Well get some sleep, I'll check up on you tomorrow before the arrest," Chandler says before he leaves.

Greg takes his place on the couch. Connor gathers his stuff to leave. I really don't want him to leave, though. He's about to walk out and I don't think before I grab his hand.

He looks back, "is everything alright?" I don't know what to do. What should I say? I'm surprised by the words that come out of my mouth next.

"I want you to stay. I don't want to be alone."

He thinks about my words for a second. He gives me a side smile and puts his bags down. He kisses me on the forehead. "Alright, I'll stay."

His kiss runs shivers down my body. What's happening to me?

We decide to have a movie night to take my mind off what happened today. He takes a shower and it's my job to pick a movie. It is always hard picking movies on Netflix. After a fail attempt of finding a movie, I decide to make popcorn instead. I put the popcorn in the microwave and wait. When it's done, I take it out the microwave. I look under the counter for a bowl and pull one out. When I straighten up, the bathroom door is slightly open and I can see the mirror inside of it. Connor's body pops up in the mirror reflection and I see his perfectly structured abs. I didn't know Connor worked out. I accidently drop the bowl and it makes a hard noise when it touches the floor. Idiot! Greg bursts awake and runs towards me. So does Connor, shirtless. I pick up the bowl quickly.

"I'm okay!" I call out as I get off the floor. Connor is standing next to Greg with simply a towel covering his lower body part. I can't help but stare. His hair is wet, his eyes are sparkling. Greg looks at Connor, then at me in confusion.

"No-no I-it's no-not what it loo-ks. He was just taking a shower." I say with my eyes looking down.

Both guys look at me in confusion. Why did I feel the need to have to justify to Greg? This is a very awkward moment. I grab the popcorn and the bowl and quickly head to my room, refusing to look back. I sit on the bed and dump the popcorn into the bowl. "What was that Mia?" I say to myself. I start munching away.

Ten minutes later, Connor walks into the room, fully clothed. Thank God! I look at the popcorn bowl, it's half empty. Oops. He sit's down on the bed next to me.

"Are you sure you want me to sleep over?" he asks, " I mean Greg is here, so you technically won't be alone."

This is a simple yet complicated question. He is right. Greg is right outside my room and if I really wanted, I know he wouldn't mind staying with me in my room until I fall asleep. I have this sudden feeling that me choosing who stays here tonight is more than just someone sleeping over for the night. This is a long-term decision.

"Yes, I'm sure," I guess I've made my choice, "I'd love for you to keep me company." He smiles and I know I've made the right choice.

I let Connor pick the movie and we end up watching episodes of Grey's anatomy. I never realized there would be so many sex scenes in a show about doctors. Every time one comes up, I feel weird knowing that Connor is right next to me in my bed. He doesn't seem to mind, though. He's munching away on what's left of the popcorn.

I finally get tired and decide we should probably go to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a big day. He agrees with me and I shut the lights off and go under the covers. Some time, minutes later, I end up in his arms, and I love it. In his arms, I find warmth and comfort. In his arms, I feel safe and I never want to leave them. I'm dreading having to wake up in the morning. Is this how it feels to have on crush on someone?
