Chapter 308: Chapter 308
["SLAP! SLAP!" Two slaps landed squarely on her face, causing her to scream in pain.
"Scream again, and I'll cut out your tongue!" Jonathan Allen threatened darkly. Of course, it was this underworld boss who had dealt the slaps. He felt no pity, nor did he care how enticing and alluring Orlando Evans was. With a flick of his wrist, he had used all his strength. Orlando Evans received two slaps. Blood immediately trickled from the corner of her mouth, and she had likely lost a few teeth as well.
Allen turned on his heel, glancing at his watch with his left wrist as he walked, counting the minutes remaining of the half hour.
Glades Horne's work was remarkably efficient, and those who interacted with him were even more so.
"Help! Save me...," Orlando Evans cried, seeing stars from the hit. Though terrified, she desperately appealed to the patrons inside the pub for help.
Halton Hillraise didn't intervene, and nobody else wanted trouble. A woman treated this way by the big boss must be utterly disgraceful! they assumed.
Without turning back, Allen strode outside. He quickened his pace to reach his destination within the time frame set by Glades Horne.
Instantly, one of his men took off his own smelly sock and stuffed it into Orlando Evans's mouth. The stench was so foul she felt utterly helpless, as if she could neither call to the heavens nor appeal to the earth for aid.
She still didn't know what she had done to offend these demons and warrant such treatment.
Thinking back to what her mother had said just before she left the house, her heart tightened. Could it be that with the current leadership change in the government, the election had become so intense that someone wanted to undermine her parents' position? Had they kidnapped her to distract her parents and ensure their electoral defeat?
Indeed, being born into a good family was not such a good thing after all.
Upon exiting the pub, she was swiftly stuffed into a black sedan. The car then zoomed away like an arrow released from its bow, disappearing from in front of the pub.
When the car entered the Golden Kirin Garden, realization dawned, and her face turned deathly pale.
It was Adele Horne! It was Adele, the one she had been manipulating, whose plans had failed again, and who had now turned her in. Now, it was Glades Horne who had ordered her abduction. How could she not have seen this coming? In this metropolis, the only person who could act so boldly and arrogantly was Glades Horne. He was an incarnation of a demon, righteous on the surface but evil underneath! What should I do? If Glades Horne knew I was the mastermind behind Adele's scheming against Julia Bluen, would he kill me? All these men around me are fierce and vicious. Would they toss me to these men for their pleasure, then chop me up and feed my remains to the fish? The more Orlando Evans thought about it, the more frightened she became, and the more she cursed Adele Horne in her mind. That fool! That brain-dead woman! How could she fail at even the smallest things? I just can't understand how God could favor her so much, allowing her to be born into the wealthy Horne family.
The car quickly drove into the Horne Family's villa.
Unexpectedly, all the Courtyard lights had been extinguished, and the area was shrouded in darkness. Aside from a few rooms in the Main House where lights were still on, only a faint glow spilled into the Courtyard, too weak to illuminate the entire space.
Jonathan Allen's men stopped the car, and he promptly swung open the door.
Wade Coleman stood tall. Seeing Jonathan Allen get out of the car, he stepped forward and said coldly, "The Young Master is in the Backyard. Bring the person there—but don't make too much noise. The Young Madam hasn't gone to sleep yet." Nᴇw ɴovel chaptᴇrs are published on 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹✶𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲✶𝗻𝗲𝘁
Then he turned and headed toward the Backyard, and Jonathan Allen signaled for his men to follow Wade Coleman with Orlando Evans in tow.
Glades Horne didn't want Julia Bluen to witness his colder side. Besides, he had no desire for Julia to plead on behalf of someone like Orlando Evans. She was a despicable woman, a homewrecker intent on climbing into his bed, tearing him and Julia apart, and shamelessly using his sister.
In the Backyard, Glades Horne's tall and imposing figure stood like a looming mountain, his back to the approaching path. The moment Orlando Evans saw the cold aura emanating from his silhouette, her legs went weak.
I'm very attractive and sexy, enough to tempt even my own cousin, but in Glades Horne's eyes, I'm no better than trash—something he could casually pick up and throw out the door. My body has been exposed to him countless times, yet he's shown no interest. Now that his men have tied me up and brought me here, how will he treat me?
"Young Master Horne, we've brought her as you ordered."
With a wave from Jonathan Allen, his men threw Orlando Evans at Glades Horne's feet.
Orlando Evans whimpered, her seductive eyes now wide and filled only with terror as she looked up at Glades Horne. When he turned around, she cried out desperately, as if begging for mercy.
Glades Horne glared down at her from his superior height. This woman has hounded me for years. I only tolerated her because she put up with my sister's princess-like tantrums and kept her company for so many years. But this ungrateful woman, even after being banned from the Horne Family estate, still had the audacity to incite my sister to go after Julia.
She thinks she's so special because she's the child of a high-ranking official? I'll make sure she isn't anymore. I'll have her parents kicked out of the Government Building.
He gave Wade Coleman a look, and Wade stepped forward to remove the foul-smelling sock stuffed in her mouth.
"Glades—AHH!" Orlando Evans had barely cried out his name when Glades silenced her with a sharp slap. The blow made her see stars, and his icy voice rang in her ears, "That slap was for Julia."
But I didn't hit Julia Bluen!
"SMACK!" Another slap followed.
"That slap is your reward for inciting Adele!"
Glades Horne's voice was utterly chilling. His face was obscured in the darkness, rendering his expression unclear. However, from his tone, Orlando Evans could tell he must be fiercely wrathful, wishing he could tear her limb from limb.
"Glades, I didn't! You've misunderstood! It was your sister who deliberately set me up!" Orlando Evans protested. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth again from the two slaps, but she dared not cry out in pain. Crawling like a dog to Glades Horne's feet, she clutched at them, weeping.
She still dares to argue! A furious rage flashed in Glades Horne's eyes. My sister isn't smart enough to harm Julia like that without this woman's instigation.
