Chapter 117: Chapter 117

Alvaro took a deep breath, knowing what he would go through tonight. He hoped Vlad wouldn’t take him to the witch’s lair again.

Sylas was still staring intently at Kai. He looked down at the slave, feeling guilty. He asked a guard for a cloak, then wrapped it around Kai’s body.

Kai lowered his gaze, feeling Sylas’s concern and gentle touch. His fear and worry vanished instantly. His heart warmed. He would never regret getting into trouble if, in the end, he could receive Sylas’s attention .

Kai’s face flushed, remembering Sylas’s worried embrace earlier. It turned out he wasn’t the only one afraid of losing.

"Can you walk?" Sylas asked.

Kai looked up and nodded.

Sylas pulled Kai closer, wrapping an arm around his waist. Then he looked at Vlad and Alvaro in turn.

He already knew what he could do to help Alvaro.

"We’re going to the rest house," Sylas ordered.

The retreat was often used by members of the royal family to get away from the pressures of palace life. They had retreats in every region. In the capital, the house was located on the edge of the forest.

Alvaro looked worried because they didn’t have guards with them. The retreat had no proper security, only a few guards and servants on duty. They would need guards from the palace.

And they hadn’t planned on going there.

Sylas turned to Vlad. "We have Lord Vlad. We don’t need extra security, right, Lord Vlad?"

Vlad chuckled, understanding Sylas’s meaning. He knew the prince wanted to make sure Alvaro was safe. Vlad had no problem with that, though he had other plans for having fun with the knight.

Sylas smiled at Vlad, who looked like he was about to refuse. "This is an official invitation from a crown prince. Please come with us," he said.

Vlad smirked. ’How cunning,’ he thought.

He glanced at Obi and the other slaves. They could have been his excuse to say no.

"Obi, don’t you want to enjoy the festival a little longer? We can go back to the candy shop later," Vlad said. He knew Obi and the others hadn’t had the chance to enjoy anything that night.

Obi smiled widely. He was already happy just to see Kai safe. He was about to approach Kai when Sylas quickly hugged him.

Obi looked at Vlad. "Master, I want to go with Kai. We can go to the festival again tomorrow night. Is that okay?" he asked hopefully.

Vlad smiled, hiding his annoyance. That kid, why isn’t he more aware?

Sylas smiled. "You can stay with Kai tonight. He’ll definitely be happy to see his friend. Isn’t that right, Kai?"

Kai looked at Obi and nodded, smiling brightly.

Only Vlad referred to them all as his. And Alvaro noticed it. He chuckled to himself.

As Alvaro expected, John and the others went by carriage. Meanwhile, Vlad, in disguise, rode his black horse.

For a moment, Alvaro was mesmerized by Vlad’s figure on horseback. He looked arrogant yet... alluring. His charisma was like a powerful magnet, making it hard to look away.

Sylas kept talking to Kai along the way, making sure he was alright.

Meanwhile, Kai looked around. The lively capital full of lights and decorations slowly gave way to dark, quiet streets. They passed orderly roads lined with trees on both sides, forming a natural fence.

Then they reached a tall gate. Two guards opened it immediately when they saw the prince.

From the gate, they rode some distance into the forest until a towering castle came into view.

It was lonely, quiet, and far from anywhere.

Kai stared at the castle, lights glowing from several windows. It was elegant and beautiful.

"We’ll return to the palace tomorrow morning. I don’t want you getting into trouble in the servant quarters. But if you feel sick and can’t work, tell me, alright?" Sylas said softly.

Kai nodded slowly. "I-I’m fine, Master..."

When they arrived, an old servant greeted them with a startled look. The woman seemed nervous.

"Your Highness, forgive me for not hearing your arrival. I haven’t prepared anything," she said apologetically.

Sylas smiled. "Forgive me for disturbing you so late, Paloma. This trip wasn’t planned. Can you just prepare a few rooms?"

Paloma nodded right away. "Yes, Your Highness." She glanced at the guests. She didn’t need to worry about the knights and palace guards since they had their own rooms.

"Just prepare ten rooms besides mine," Sylas said, seeing Paloma’s confusion.

The woman quickly nodded.

He deliberately placed Vlad and Alvaro next to his own room. Obi and John were close by, with the other rooms left for Vlad’s slaves.

When the rooms were ready, Kai started walking toward Obi to stay with him. But Sylas quickly held his hand.

"No, you come with me, Mr. Kai," he whispered, making Kai’s blood rush.

Alvaro took a deep breath. With heavy steps, he followed behind Vlad, who trailed after a servant.

Sylas and Kai walked ahead. Sylas didn’t even hesitate to carry the young man up the stairs.

Vlad glanced at Alvaro. "Want me to carry you?"

Alvaro glared at him. "Don’t even think about it!"

Vlad chuckled. "What a pity."

The rooms for Sylas and Vlad were equal in size, with a connecting door between them. The rooms were originally for the king and queen, giving them private access if they wanted it. Sylas left the door open and covered it with curtains.

But if he thought that would make Vlad hesitate to do anything to Alvaro, he was wrong.

Vlad sat on the bed and dismissed the servant, leaving him alone with Alvaro.

Alvaro stood awkwardly in the middle of the room. He still held a grudge against the vampire, but his body was slowly getting used to Vlad’s presence. The tension was fading.

"Come closer. I want my payment, and I don’t want my night ruined by unpleasant treatment," Vlad said calmly, teasing him.

Alvaro groaned softly. He knew the consequences. But he hadn’t expected Vlad to be so blunt. And why was he upset, knowing the vampire would always seize the chance?

Alvaro pushed aside his pride and dignity. He stripped off all his clothes, knowing what Vlad wanted.

"I’m just a commodity, so hurry up and do what you do. I have to get back to work," Alvaro said, standing naked.

Vlad stared intently, seeing the hatred in Alvaro’s eyes. And the pain.

Alvaro looked away, startled when his hand was suddenly pulled. He let out a cry of surprise.

In an instant, he was kneeling between Vlad’s legs. The vampire gripped his arm and lifted his chin to meet his gaze.

"First, I never saw you as an object. Second, I missed you so much that I’d do anything to have you by my side. Third, I..."

Vlad’s eyes softened as he stared at Alvaro. Updates are released by novel~fire~net

Alvaro frowned, surprised at the seriousness in the vampire’s face. When he tried to look away, Vlad held his chin in place.

"... apologize." Vlad said it softly, but his eyes were sincere.

Vlad swallowed hard. His pale face almost turned red. He was truly sorry.

"I’m sorry. I didn’t know your gaze could hurt me so much. Don’t look at me with such hatred," Vlad continued.

Alvaro’s sharp gaze softened slightly. He was touched, but he couldn’t help but respond.

"You apologize by forcing me to be naked ."

Vlad grinned mischievously. "I never asked you to be naked. You did that yourself."

Alvaro glared. "You..." He tried to stand, but Vlad pushed his shoulder down.

"You’re already naked, so why don’t you serve me? Or do you want me to serve you instead?"

Vlad’s words made Alvaro blush in both anger and embarrassment. The vampire always managed to leave him speechless.

Alvaro stifled a scream when Vlad lifted him onto the bed. "Shit, the prince will hear you!" Alvaro whispered.

"I don’t care. You just need to hold back your screams."

Sylas had been watching, but he couldn’t anymore. His face was as red as a boiled crab. He didn’t know what to do. Alvaro didn’t seem to be in real danger. And he had already violated their privacy.

Sylas pulled Kai away, who also wanted to watch.

"No, Kai! Not good to see," he said.

He shut the partition door quickly. Not for their sake, but for his own. He couldn’t risk getting aroused too. That would be dangerous.
