Chapter 108: Chapter 108

Redert at another table cleared his throat. "Lilian~"

Lilian immediately turned around. "Oops. Sorry, honey. I’m just kidding."

The woman chuckled, seeing the surprise in Amos’ eyes and her husband’s jealousy. Then she looked back at Amos, this time more seriously.

"You’re such a sweet little puppy. I might help you if you come here once a month and give me some of your blood."

Redert interrupted from behind. "Honey, you don’t have to ask him for his blood."

Lilian replied a little louder. "No problem, it’s up to him. I’ll only help if he gives me his blood."

Amos paused for a moment. "My blood? What will you do with my blood?"

"I’ll just take a few hundred milliliters and store it in a bottle. It won’t hurt, you won’t die from it."

Amos lowered his head. "But you promised to help me?"

Lilian nodded. "Yes, I’ll open your third eye and prepare your body to make the pact and accept your demon."

Amos took a deep breath. He felt nervous. "Will it hurt?"

Lilian shook her head. "No, but you’ll need to do a few things. I’ll make sure you’re ready in a week."

Amos fell silent. He thought hard. Whatever it was, he didn’t have much time. And he had no other solution, except to ask his mother for help. But from Lilian’s explanation, it seemed like his mother wouldn’t be able to help if it involved his demon. He didn’t know how powerful his mother’s demon was.

Amos finally nodded. "Alright, I’ll come every month as payment. Please help me."

Lilian smirked. "I’ll make a deal for that."

Amos watched the woman walk away toward the door and disappear, leaving him alone with the handsome figure at the back table who was still busy with his books.

Amos was lost in his own thoughts. He thought about many things that had happened in his life.

Was it also the devil who helped him when he recited the spell to kill the servants in the palace? It seemed so, because somehow he heard clearly who he wanted to kill. And the desire to kill grew stronger every time he finished reciting the spell. There was an overwhelming urge. His body also became very light, even able to shoot forward like a flash of light.

Who was the devil who had been helping him all this time?

On the first day of the Sylas Festival, he couldn’t avoid going to church, because all the events would start from there.

After the mass to pray and give thanks for the King’s health, they would accompany His Majesty with a church band to the capital and back. Then, one after another, carnivals would be held.

James had arranged the schedule for every carnival that would fill the entire week, whether from the palace or from the villages. No day would be missed. This festival was celebrated with great fanfare.

General Huron deployed tight security in every corner of the city to ensure the event ran safely and smoothly.

At times , the palace relaxed its rules for the servants. They were allowed to enjoy the festival and leave the palace after work, of course with stamps from the gate guards. Anyone who left had to obtain permission, and upon returning, they had to show their exit stamp. This was to prevent intruders and other dangers.

Kai had been cleaning the dormitory and preparing food since morning. He heard the church bells ringing several times, along with the sound of music. It sounded very lively.

But he only stared out the gate, his hands full of wild grass. He didn’t want anything, nor was he sad about not leaving the palace. He just wanted to work.

"How dare you be here?!"

Kai was startled by Mrs. Gremblin’s shout as she entered the gate. He stopped working and hid behind a garden rock. Was that woman looking for him? Or did she want to scold him?

Kai peeked out. He saw Gremblin pushing Garry’s large body down from the terrace. Follow current novels on nοvelfire.net

"You really want me to report you, don’t you!" Gremblin shouted in her booming voice.

Kai saw the woman grab a wooden stick and swing it repeatedly at Garry’s body. Garry shouted just as loudly. They sounded like a couple in the middle of an argument.

Then, Garry suddenly groaned and fell to the ground, holding his chest. Gremblin looked out of breath; she stopped the wooden stick in mid-air.

"Don’t pretend!" Gremblin snapped.

But Garry seemed to be falling further.

"Hey!" Gremblin’s voice sounded panicked. She used her stick to poke Garry’s body, which looked in pain.

Gremblin was terrified. She called Kai over.

Kai was startled, quickly dropping the grass in his hands and running as fast as he could toward the woman.

Garry was holding his chest, his face pale. "I’m dying..." he repeated over and over.

Gremblin and Kai helped her back up to the terrace, which wasn’t easy because of Garry’s large body and the stairs leading up.

With labored breath, Gremblin let go of Garry onto the floor. Kai also let go slowly.

The man groaned softly.

"Don’t you dare pretend," Gremblin muttered as she entered the dormitory.

Garry took a breath, pretending to be weak, one eye open as he looked at Kai staring at him with a worried expression, then he groaned in pain again.

Kai beside him looked panicked.

A few moments later, Gremblin came out with a glass of water.

"Drink this," the woman said.

Garry opened his eyes, took the glass, and drank it. His acting was convincing enough to make Gremblin say little else. She even let him lie on the terrace all day.

Meanwhile, Kai was visited by a servant from the servant quarters in the middle of the day. The servant brought a letter from the head servant and the manager of the servant quarters regarding the work agreement.

During the festival, Kai would work from noon until night. After the festival and before the new school year began, Kai would come after his lessons with Mrs. Manu.
