"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" Aaron asked. after questioning something absurd, he is asking me why I'm staring at him.

"You think that I'm greedy for your Luna's position and power?" I asked, still unable to believe what I heard.

"Your continuous questions give me this vibe only" he scoffed.

"I can't believe this... You think so low of me, Aaron" I mumbled and wiped the unwanted tears which were falling without my permission. He bowed his eyes as realisation hit him.

"Pearl" He called me to say something but I showed him my hand and stood up from bed.

"I was questioning you because, till today, I was leaving in fear of losing you. Fear that anytime Alexander will come and kill you. If I knew about your power before then I wouldn't have to live in fear and Alice might have been alive as I would have shared everything with you. I don't want power and your Luna's position. Put it in your ass" I growled and left the room, without looking back to calm my anger. my blood was boiling remembering his question.

"Arghh... asshole... He thinks so low of me" I growled while roaming in his villa like I own it. My eyes went to Monika and Patrick. She was talking to him but he was lost in his thoughts.

"Are you even listening to me, Patrick?" She growled at him when he didn't respond. He looked at her abruptly as he came to his senses when she called her name.

"If you love to live in your thoughts then why do you introduce me as your chosen mate to Aaron" she snapped at him and left angrily. Patrick was about to follow her but stopped and turned his head towards me. He might have felt my presence.

"Do you want something?" He asked in a hoarse voice. I nod my head negatively.

"Then what are you doing here?"

"Your friend spoiled my mood" I replied honestly and bowed my eyes, waiting for his rude reply but he didn't say anything. I looked up at him, only to find him staring at me.

"Come with me" He said and started walking ahead of me and I followed him without questioning anything as Aaron trusted him blindly and I had trust in his trust. He took me to the beautiful park which brought a smile to my face. It is so peaceful over here. He gestured to me to sit on the bench and then sat beside me at a little distance.

"Thank you for bringing me here. This place cherished my mood. It's so peaceful over here" I said after a while looking at the beauty of flowers.

"Our former Luna planted them with her hands. They were her mate and our Alpha Watson's favourite flower" My smile widened upon hearing the beautiful story behind this beautiful flower. He stood up from the bench and I followed his action.

"It's about to sunset… You should go to your mate" he muttered. I nod my head.

"Could you please guide me towards my room as I'm new here?" I asked politely. He nodded his head and started walking ahead. Like before I followed him but stopped in mid when my eyes went on the family tree over the wall of the hall.

"Patrick" he stopped and turned towards me. I was looking at the wall, it had a picture of generation after generation of Aaron's family. I read the name of Aaron's Mother.

"Stacy Benson '' I muttered her name and then I read the name of Aaron's grandmother "Sophia Smith". I smiled realising that Aaron uses her mother and grandma's surname as his surname in the human world, "Aaron Smith Benson ''. Some people called him only Mr. Benson, some called him Mr. Smith and only a few people knew his full name.

"They are Aaron's family," Patrick muttered. I nod my head and read Aaron's father's name. In the werewolf world, his surname is Watson. He used it while rejecting me. Tears welled up in my eyes remembering that brutal memory of my life.

"I always thought that I would consider Aaron's mate as my sister and had faith that she would bring our Alpha back." I turned my head towards Patrick upon hearing him. "You not only broke my hope but also my best friend's heart" He muttered in disappointment.

"And what is surprising is despite what you did, he loves you" I didn't say anything to him, not wanting to explain myself where I know he won't believe me. I was about to go towards my room. That's when I recalled the words he said to my mate.

"This incident happened when your health was not okay, Aaron. It took you one month to recover."

I turned my head towards Patrick only to find him glaring at me.

"About when you were talking before with Aaron when he asked why you didn't share about your mate's death. What happened to Aaron that time?" I asked.

"When your mate came to know about your betrayal, Rex went out of control and in order to control his angry Lycan, Aaron took wolfsbane which I especially made for him." My eyes widened with his answer.

"That Wolfsbane?" he nodded in confirmation. I recalled how Aaron's eyes were red and he was drinking something in a glass. so it was a wolfsbane.

"It means the day when he rejected me, he was not in his senses," I muttered to which he nodded.

"He rejected you in pain... In the pain of betrayal and wolfsbane which was driving Alpha Rex insane." a tear rolled from my eyes. I can't even imagine how much pain he was in that day.

"Why did you let him take that stupid wolfsbane?" I growled.

"Because if I stopped him then Alpha Rex would have killed many innocent people." He snarled and went towards the couch in the middle of the hall.

"That day your betrayal broke him, Aana. Aaron lost control over himself and Rex. He was crying." I went towards him and sat beside him, not able to accommodate the information he was giving me.

"He was not in his senses when he rejected you. It took him almost a month to recover from that wolfsbane effect and you know what, despite your betrayal he used to call your name in pain" Tears were streaming from my eyes, imagining the pain Rex and Aaron go through and it all because of the stupid misunderstanding.

"After recovering when Aaron recalled his behaviour towards you and how he rejected you, he started searching for you in the entire town. He just wanted you." I look at him, widening my eyes.

"Aaron was searching for me?"

"Yes… You cheated on him but he loved you with everything. Even after learning about your true colours, he was searching for you. In the hope that you will ask forgiveness and he will forgive then everything will be back to normal. Do you think destiny crossed your path again with Aaron? No, Aana. Aaron got to know that you're working in an NGO from the force, he sent to search for you and he didn't waste a day to reach you. He loves you a lot."

"Indeed he loves me a lot" I mumbled. Only one question was roaming in my mind: how can someone love another person this much? He was searching for me when he didn't know that I didn't betray him. I looked up and thanked my star for sending a mate like Aaron in my life.

"I didn't cheat on him… I didn't" I muttered to Patrick before getting up and running towards my room where my mate was. I opened the door of the room, only to find Aaron sitting on the bed like he was sitting when I left. His angry expression turned into worry when his eyes went on me.

"Pearl" he came towards me and cupped my face.

"What happened? Why are your eyes red? Did you cry?" He asked one after another question anxiously. I hugged him and hid my face in his chest.

"I love you, Aaron... I love you" I muttered and exhaled my mate's scent which always made me feel secure, loved, and happy.
