Chapter 162: Chapter 162

Aana Pov's

"If you want an answer then you have to give me a chance to complete it," I said glaring at him angrily. He scoffed and turned his face in another direction.

"You can't make me stand in a courtroom where you're the defender and you're the judge who is passing the judgement without giving an accused person a chance to express his side" I yelled at my higher pitch but it seemed like my voice was not reaching his ear. He was not even looking at my side. Tears were continuously falling from my eyes.

"Only this much trust you have in me, Aaron?" I asked. He picked a glass and made another drink for himself, ignoring me like I didn't even exist there. I snatched the glass from his hand.

"You have to talk to me," I muttered and threw that glass on the wall. He glared at me angrily.

"You can't do this with me" I yelled looking at him.

"You can't ignore me like this" I hold his collar.

"You can betray me and I can't even ignore you." He scoffed and released his collar from my hand.

"I didn't… How many times do I have to tell you, I didn't betray you? In my whole life after Vince, I only loved you… why you're not believing me" I asked helplessly.

"I wanted to but you only tell me how? How can I ignore everything? Tell me Aana." he asked painfully... Tears rolled down from my eyes realising his point. He is in equal pain as I am.

"I" Before I could complete he pulled me closer to him, holding my arms.

"The whole night you were with him, Right?" He asked, looking at me with hope that I would deny it. Tears were not stopping from my eyes.

"You were with Ryan, right?" he asked again, clearing the person's name he was talking about. I cursed my faith for purring me in a situation where I can't even deny it because it's all true. I was unconscious and Ryan was there with me for the last two nights, taking care of me.

"Yes Or No? Aana" he growled, making me flinch. I nodded my head in yes, feeling pain in my arms because of the way he was holding me.

"Is he better than me? Did he satisfy you more than me?" He asked, leaving me dumbstruck. I didn't say anything and pushed him away, not able to process what he just said. Did he question my relationship with my brother? I started feeling disgusted because of his question.

"Before last night, how many times did you sleep with him behind my back?" He again asked, looking at me with disgust and hatred in his eyes. I didn't reply, kept looking at him with teary eyes, tired of telling him that I didn't betray him.

"What happened? You thought that I would never get to know about your affair and you would have fun behind my back" He laughed like a maniac and then started throwing everything that came in his hand, destroying the whole drinking area. I was just looking at him.

"I had a" Before I could complete he threw the vase on the bar mirror, shutting my mouth. I wanted to tell him that I had an encounter with my past but again he didn't let me complete it.

"I Alpha Aaron Watson rejected you as my mate," He said leaving me in utter shock. Alice whimpered in pain. She was already weak because of the injection Alexander injected into my neck. I fell to the ground, tears were not stopping from my eyes.

"Please take your rejection back… please" I begged him in fear of losing Alice and my pup. There was a high chance of having a miscarriage in the early days of pregnancy.

"Leave," He said with a poker expression. I look at him with devastated eyes.

"I hate you and please never show your face again to me" He yelled. That's it… I didn't say anything after that nor try to explain anything to him. I wiped my tears and left the place. It was raining heavily outside and I was roaming on the road alone. I took out the pregnancy kit from my pocket which showed positive results.

At Present

.

That was the last time I tried to tell him I didn't cheat on him but he didn't give me a chance and now when he asks me the truth, I don't want to explain myself. Why should I when I know he won't trust me?

I regret every moment I lied to him before his birthday despite it being all a small lie. That day, I understood three things. First, even small lies can create misunderstanding. Second, misunderstanding can break any strong bond and third, we should give a chance to another person before passing any judgement.

I was lost in my thoughts when I felt someone's fur on my neck. I turned my head, in the hope that it was Rex. My smile vanished seeing Shrine who was looking at me with love.

"Shrine" I moved my hand on her back lovingly and gave her a small smile.

"I'm fine... Don't worry" I muttered when she licked my hand, understanding that she was worried after seeing me upset. She understood my pain which Aaron didn't.

"What happened?" I asked when she held my dress and moved back, indicating to me to stand up. I did as she wanted and went behind her.

"Shrine where are we going? Aaron told me not to go anywhere" I muttered and caressed her fur that's when I heard a sound. I looked down only to find an arrow near my legs. I looked around before picking that arrow.

"It's a silver arrow covered with venom" My eyes widened when I realised that someone hit this arrow to kill me. I looked around in fear and then at the shrine.

"Are they near us?" I asked. She turned her head towards the brushes.

"I mean no harm... So whoever is there please let me go" I muttered, in the hope that person would understand but in response I found another arrow coming towards me. Thankfully, I bowed down in time before it hit me. I touched my stomach in fear.

I looked around and then ran towards a tree to hide myself while Shrine growled and ran towards the bushes.

"Shrine... No" I yelled in fear. That person can harm her but seems like I underestimated her. I heard that person scream and then he made a sound which seemed like a signal.

Soon everything went silent, indicating to me that the person was dead. I took a relief breath and looked at Shrine who came out of brushes covered in blood.

"Thank you for saving my life" I muttered and caressed her back. I again heard the sound which that person made. It didn't take me long to understand that the person was not alone and he sent a signal to his fellow mates about my presence.

"Fuck... We are in danger, Shrine." I muttered anxiously and held my stomach in fear for my pup's life then looked around in search of Aaron but he was nowhere to be found.
