Jason had come for answers and wanted to prove a point but he lost control as soon as he touched her.
He could not stop kissing Nancy. He had even forgotten that he had left the door open and did not seem to care.
She nestled against his shoulder and he gently lifted her chin again. He felt drawn continuously to her lips. They were so full and luscious and sweet and right now, they were full and swollen from his kisses.
His lips moved towards hers again and Nancy's arms went round him.
Tenderly and gently, his hands slid over her body. The pressure of his hands against her cloth aroused her flesh.
Their mouths joined again as Jason leaned back pulling her on top of him. The muscle of their bodies pressed together, testing, reaching.
She was aware of the growing hardness between his legs and the arousal if her nipples as they pressed against his skin. She had not known when he removed the singlet he was wearing. She had been so carried away with what she was feeling which kept increasing by the second.
His fingers traced the curve of her back,so gently that her spine seemed to arch for his touch.
Then his hands were brushing her hair back as they kissed, stroking her temples, following the line of the bone behind her ears, trailing down her neck.
A surge of heat welled between her breasts.
'Come, Nancy, is this the right time? Because you see, if you do not stop me now, I shan't be responsible for my actions', his words muffled as if he were speaking to her breasts as he took one nipple after the other into his mouth, stroking it with his tongue and pulling it in as he suckled.
Nancy moaned. She could not think straight. She wanted to surrender to the desires, no - the need that his hands and lips aroused.
'Is that a yes? Are you giving me the go ahead?'
She remembered that her words did not count where he was concerned. He did not believe her when she told him that there was nothing between her and Alfred and that Phoebe was deceiving him.
What future could she possibly have with him? He was going to get married to another woman and if they should cross this line, then she would be more devastated than she already was when they eventually parted because to her it was not just lust but love that was involved. Her heart would be completely shattered and her pride destroyed.
'Nancy?' he asked huskily. She could feel the tension in his body that cried for release and the throbbing between his legs and she wanted to moan her assent but now was not the time to think with the heart but with her head.
She pushed him away as she got up, first turning to her side because of her pregnancy.
'No, Jason. This is not the right time and I do not think there ever will be a right time for this between us!' she said.
'And why not?'
'Jason, I have no time for argument. You are getting married and you want to make love to me? How does that sound? I once told you that I will not be a play thing for a millionaire or any man for that matter and I am serious about it'.
'Is that what you think this is?'
'Is it not?' she asked hoping to hear something that will be a balm to her hurt soul.
'I thought that you loved me, but I must have been mistaken'.
'And you don't love me. No! Forget about love, you do not even care about me!'
'How can you say that?'
'Why won't I say that? You do not trust me enough to take my word that Alfred and I have no affair going. He just said he would want to see me again but I refused though he promised to come see me at work when we resume. Is that so wrong that you have been laying such unpardonable accusations my way?
Also, I told you what I overheard Phoebe saying to the lab technician but you prefered to believe her over me. But you want to be intimate with me while planning your home with her. Am I that cheap and foolish to you? Is that how low I have become to you? Someone who is unable to control her desires?
After the Christmas celebration, I'd like to move to my own place'.
This came as a shock to Jason. He never thought that she would take such a step, at least not before her baby came but maybe all the drama was getting too much for her.
He realised that he did not want her to go. It was hard being with her while she was resident in his premises, how much harder then would it be if she were to move out.
'Why would you take such a big decision without telling me?'
'You are busy with your marital plans and I did not want to be a clog in the wheel for you and your sister already thinks that I am. The best way to clear all misunderstandings is to leave, so that you can have the happy home I seem to be depriving you of'.
The anxiety Jason had felt was giving way to anger. This was a woman he was willing to sacrifice everything for. He was planning on ridding himself of Phoebe to get married to her but she was planning on running off, most probably with that man Alfred.
And she said that he did not trust her?
'Is living here hampering your activities or movements?' he asked harshly, his hurt showing in his eyes.
Nancy did not want to look at that because she did not want to be swayed.
'Think what you will but I shall still advise you to get a second opinion concerning Phoebe and her pregnancy and be more cautious and ensure that this time it is not doctored. If you take all the precautions and the baby is yours,then don't ever believe a word I tell you again. But right now, I wish to be left alone'.
'Since you are leaving, what do you care about my marital and paternal decisions?' he asked as he pulled his singlet back on and was about to leave when he remembered the promise he had made his niece and nephew.
'But please, do you suppose you could spend some of your previous time with Vera and Vaughn? You will recall that before I sent them off, I had promised them that you would come in and play with them for a while'.
'I shall be there!' Nancy said, hurt that he had not made any effort to try to stop her from leaving. He had not said anything to show that he didn't want her to leave. It shows just how important she was to him. Thank goodness, she had not gone all the way with him. It would surely have destroyed her.
