Chapter 132: Chapter 132

“Just! GET! THROUGH!” I grunted as I pushed. It was pointless though. I might be stronk, but Ninetales was a pile of floof and a very stubborn animal.

“Niiiiiiiine!” He yowled, all four of his paws pressing against the edges of the doggy door, and simply refusing utterly to even stick his head through!

“It’s just a DOOOR!” I grunted, but he yowled louder, and finally I realized this was pointless.

I flopped back into the snow and ice, and just stared… “He’s so dumb.” I wanted to cry. How could someone so pretty be so brain dead?

“Arc! Arcanine!” A bark echoed out as Arcanine stuck her head through the doggy door, and I glared at her.

Of course she had no issues. “There isn’t a battle.” I told her, already knowing what she was so excited for.

Her happy doggy smile faded and shifted into a pout as she pulled her head out of the doggy door.

“Nine!” I blinked in dumbfounded shock as Ninetales, followed after Arcanine…

That was it? He just needed to see Arcanine use the damn door? I sighed, steam coming out of my mouth as the temperature in here was seriously rough, and just glared at everything for a moment.

“Niiiiine! Niiiiine!” He started yowling from the other side of the door and… He was scratching at the door. I got up on all fours and stuck my head through the door to see him yowling and whining about the door…

“You… Are so stupid.” I whispered honestly, feeling tears coming out of my eyes.

He… He hadn’t even realized he just went through the doggy door did he? He just followed Arcanine and got stuck in the airlock…

Thankfully with the solution in front of me, it hadn’t taken long to get Arcanine to show the dumb fox how to use the doggy doors, and the Vulpix had proven to be not as stupid as their father.

Sure they hesitated, but that was more because of their fathers reactions than because they were too stupid to realize what a door was!

Finally though all four of them were outside, the warmer weather while still cold felt better for me as well.

Yeesh it was cold in there, and then I watched as the two older Vulpix started prancing around to play, finding Goomy and…

“Hey hey! No!” I charged over but it was too late.

One of the Vulpix had seen a Goomy and after nosing it a bit and getting a happy greeting had tried to bite them!

“VHULLP VHULP!” She shrieked, gooily, mouth full of slime as Goomy cried out as well, blasting them with Dragon Pulse of all moves, that thankfully did nothing, and the woogling away.

I scooped up the poor Vulpix, who was also very naughty and hurried her to the stream so she could wash her mouth out.

“Now what have we learned?” I asked her as she shrieked mouth practically dripping goo out as I stuck her mouth into the water.

“That’s what I thought.” I said as with a bit of work I got her mouth cleaned out enough she wasn’t screaming and set her down. Watching as she ran straight back to her father crying all the time.

What a little Drama Queen.

The other two were more cautious, but Arcanine was wagging her tail doggy laughing…

“You did the same thing!” I reminded her, and she huffed and turned away.

Well, she just licked the Goomy instead of taking a bite, but still. I hurried back to the fox family and watched as they all took in the field.

They must have seen it already, but with all the pokemon here, it wasn’t empty. Goomy woogling around. Milotic trilling greetings from the water, Blue Heart’s eyes peeking out of the water watching me.

I gave him a big smile, but I needed to figure this out first.

“Okay, so, please do not attack, or try to eat anyone else.” I scolded wagging a finger at the little Vulpix. Who was huddled under her father and looked annoyed at me.

“Don’t give me that. You might be strong, but if you attack my friends, I’ll whoop your ass.” I told him without hesitation, and before he could think to say anything more Arcanine gave a growl bark in her throat, and his ears shot up to look at her.

She was with me on this one!

Thanks Arcanine, that’s my girl!

“Good girl.” I told her and her tail started wagging a bit.

“Now, this whole place? You can go where you want inside the fence” I told him, and he blinked looking around. “The bunker that you’ve been in? That’s yours as well, it can be kept as cold as you want, but it’ll be warm out here, okay?”

“Nine!” He yowled happily and stood up, and walked over to Arcanine…

I rolled my eyes looking at the four Vulpix… Three Vulpix.

One baby. Two older sisters…

“Where is the other Vulpix?” I caught four of them.”

“I was wondering when you would notice.” Grandpa Roy called out, he’d returned to the porch and was sitting down warming up with some tea that had been handed to him by Aunt Melissa.

“Grandpa Roy, where is the fourth Vulpix?” I said, started to get a bit worried, and my voice definitely came out with a hint of a growl.

He smiled, obviously not intimidated.

“My Apologies, Vicky, I should have told you, Elizabeth has been taking the Vulpix into the house one at a time and uh… Well.” He shrugged and waved me inside. I hurried in following his wave, to find Elizabeth, honestly as I slipped through the clan building, it didn’t take me long as I heard giggling and cute noises.

I gripped the sliding door where it was all coming from and opened it in a single move.

“Hehehe!” Elizabeth giggled as the Vulpix pranced around on her bed, a big blue bow was wrapped behind her ears, and she was obviously enjoying the attention. Elizabeth stopped as Vulpix stuttered to a stop at my appearance, as I looked it over.

Lots of cute Poke accessories, bows, and ribbons, and all sorts of things. The sort of stuff you’d find in any Pokemon Coordinator’s pack.

I felt my eyes narrow in utter and complete judgement, and Elizabeth had the grace to look away, her face getting a little red.

“It’s… Not what you think?”

“Stealing is bad.” I said firmly, finger wagging and Elizabeth slumped, before I nodded. “But if she wants to stay with you, and play dress up… Ugh. If she wants to stay with you, that’s something you’ll have to run by her father.”

“Wha… Wait? Vicky? You mean it? You aren’t mad?”

“Of course I’m mad.” I told her firmly without any anger in my voice. “But it’s not like I can train and properly be there for four Vulpix. Baby is already going to take up most of my time.”

“The smallest one. I had to rescue her, which is how I met the Ninetales and Vulpix in the first place.”

Elizabeth nodded, right alongside the Vulpix, both of them eerily in sync.

“Talk to Ninetales, and see what he says, if Vulpix wants to let you train her… That’s between you.”

“You mean it?” Elizabeth asked, and I sent her a look. She sounded more like a little girl getting a pony than the normally confident teenager.

She looked a little abashed, but I noticed she had reached out and snuggled Vulpix in a hug unconsciously.

“Sure. You’re going to have to help with the breeding program that’s probably going to start up anyways. Might as well give you something for it.”

“Yes! Hear that Princess?” Elizabeth cooed, and Vulpix yowled happily at her, both of them nuzzling each other.

Elizabeth was such a little sneak, already worming her way into the Vulpix’s heart in just a single day!

I nodded and headed out, before I say something a bit more testy than I really should. It was fine. It’s not like I needed so many Vulpix, I just had wanted to cuddle a bunch of floofy foxes for at least a while before we started getting them homes.

Oh well, I sent Grandpa Roy a look as I walked past him out on the patio, and he looked embarrassed as well.

He’d totally allowed it to happen. Oh well, Princess if that was her nickname would be taken care of, and it’s not like she was disappearing or something. Elizabeth still lived here.

“Ah, before you run off. I heard you had another egg?” Grandpa Roy called out, and I stopped and nodded. “Don’t forget to get it registered here in Kanto.”

I nodded, right, I had sort of done that last time, mostly because I just panicked and rushed to the Pokemon Center to get help.

Ugh, getting back from the trip and I had so much on my plate, I guess that was normal, vacation over. Time to get back to work.

Oh well, at least my job was playing with cute pokemon. I patted my bag, where the egg was inside, I’d have to take it out more and give it more walky time so it hatches sooner. I was excited for Dratini’s little sibling.

With my visit to the reserve all taken care of I gathered a set of pokemon and it was time to head home.

Throwing out Arcanines Pokeball, I climbed on, and off we went.

Dragonite, Milotic, and Dratini were staying in the reserve. They were having cute family time, which left me with Arcanine as my transport.

Well and Blue Heart, but he was a lot slower when I just wanted to get home. He was on my belt of course, no point in just leaving him behind.

I still had Riolu’s empty pokeball, she was just at home with Lucario. Gible was coming with me, it was easier to deal with her at home, than it was at the reserve, and she was still in an interesting spot, where more interaction was important.

Jangmo-o was coming mostly because he didn’t have quite as many friends as the others, and then finally while normally she was super useful at the reserve, Blissey was coming too.

Brave was celebrating with all her Goomy family, so I hadn’t had the heart to break her from that, and to my amusement, Mimikyu had been pulled into helping Elizabeth with her Vulpix accessories. I’d see him soon, but he was quite content.

Ninetales and the Vulpix were staying to help them get used to their new home.

And so I was free to spend the rest of the day as I liked.

Running across Kanto on Arcanine back thankfully wasn’t that cold, as always fire types were awesome in winter. Looking behind me through my goggles I could see the trail of melted snow left in our wake as Arcanine got out some of her zoomies.

We ended up not going straight home, first I had some other things to do.

Gram Gram's house was as soothing as always as we pulled up, Arcanine panting but her paws were tippy tapping as she wanted to take off full speed again.

“No, you know we can’t go all out in the city, Officer Jenny will give us a ticket again!” I reminded her, and she sent me a pitiful look. I was of course immune to her nonsense, and just returned her for now, if I didn’t she was going to run off on her own.

She would absolutely have ran off the moment my back was turned if I didn’t.

“Gram Gram! I’ve come to visiiiit!” I called out as I knocked on the door and entered, and I smiled as I could smell something yummy cooking, meaning my foot took me straight towards the kitchen.

“Oh, is that my granddaughter? Come to cause some sort of trouble no doubt!” Gram Gram called out, and I grinned like a feral cat as I poked my head into the kitchen, hiding my bag behind my back.

“Maybe!” I confirmed, earning a narrowed eye look from my Grandmother as she stood in front of a pot warming some sort of soup, by the looks of it.

“Alright, sit down, out with it.”

“Hehehe! I got you a souvenir from Alola!” I told her, and she instantly narrowed her eyes.

“If you caught a second dirty ugly Meowth in Alola, I don’t want it.” She said plainly, and I grinned even wider as I opened my bag, and then slowly brought out the package that was still wrapped up.

“Nope!” I offered, and pushed the box towards her. She seemed to relax for a bit and walked over, putting her spoon down and then with a bit of work opening the package and gazing in…

“Pfeh!” She released an outraged noise, and I broke, laughing and giggling as she grabbed the spoon and waved it at me.

“You get over here you troublemaker!”

“Hehehehe!” I laughed as I raced away, but thankfully Gram Gram wasn’t actually going to smack me with a spoon… Probably!

“My own Grandchild! Bringing home one of those ugly things, and now this!” Gram Gram faux wailed and I laughed all the harder as I peaked my head back into the kitchen.

“I got something else for you!” I offered holding out a much smaller box I had found in another shop.

“Something you’ll like!” I assured her, and hurried over. She had, I noticed already pulled the Alolan Persian ceramic out of the box and placed it down to look at it. She definitely didn’t hate it.

I placed another right next to it, and she looked at me.

“You didn’t have to get two things.”

“The first one was just a gag gift.” I assured her, still snickering, as she reached over and pulled open the box.

“Oh!” She gasped, much more pleased sounding, as she pulled out a little painting. It was a Litten napping against a pool of water, its tail half in the water, and a Magikarp nipping at the wiggling tail.

“What a fierce little look on this one!” Gram Gram said, sounding quite pleased as she looked at the small painting.

“Litten! They’re like the Alolan Charmander, a pokemon given out to new trainers there. Litten is a Fire type that evolves into a Fire and Dark Type.”

“Hmm. I’ve heard of them before, and seen pictures, but I think this is the best I’ve seen.” She assured me, and I grinned, earning myself a big hug as I settled onto the kitchen table.

By the time I was done hanging out with Gram Gram I had to head home. Ivy and others that got souvenirs would have to wait another day.

Riding home, the lights were on, and Papa’s car was in the driveway, he wasn’t back at work yet, so that didn’t surprise me.

I slipped inside, Arcanine coming right in with me, heading right for the water bowl that was jumbo dog sized for Arcany. And I stepped into a scene that made me huff.

Mama and Papa were on the couch, watching some TV. Lucario sat beside them, helping Mama fold some laundry of all things, but it was Riolu sitting on Papa’s lap to avoid the chores as she cheered at the show.

It was some Martial Arts movie.

I felt my eyes narrow more and more, at the scene, Papa just waving at me, not catching the ques at all, until Lucario of all people huffed out a doggy laugh and waved at me to come over.

Blinking in surprise I did that, and then to my surprise she scooted over, and helped me settle in until I was resting with my head in her lap watching the show…

Well that was okay then.

“Shh!” Papa said, plopping a heavy hand on Riolu’s head to quiet her as the Martial Artists were talking.

Our eyes met, a glare passed between us.

But we also turned and watched the movie.

Huh, I hadn’t seen this one. Lucario’s paw patted my head and I soon relaxed into the couch.

“Bath time!” Mama called out, the movie finished up, and Riolu and I groaned.

“Bath.” She demanded, pointedly as she lifted up the folded laundry. “You too Riolu.” She ordered as the little brat had tried to sneak away. We both slumped.

I didn’t want to share a bath with Riolu!

Our eyes met, and our thoughts were aligned. But we had no choice.

It was with a thought I realized if I let Riolu get into the bathroom first, she’d take the nice comfy spot in the Furo…

I raced up and over the couch, Riolu’s howl right on my butt as I raced. I just needed to wash quickly, and I could have the comfy spot!

I ripped open the bathroom door, just in time for Riolu’s paws to slam into my side and then kick off, sending me sliding down the hallway further, and letting her enter first.

“You little!” I grunted, feet scrambling on the floors for a moment and then rushing in. She was already washing up, and I growled, as I started disrobing.

Gah! She was such a Brat!

I sat beside her and started scrubbing down, the two of us glaring the whole time, but suddenly I felt it a shift behind me.

“Blissey!” I looked up as Blissey walked right past us grabbing a washcloth to put on her head and just bouncing into the bath…

“Hey! You need to scrub first!” I waved a brush at her, but she just sent me the most omnipotent look.

As if scrubbed was beneath the body of a goddess..

I pouted… Oh right she had probably washed up after her morning exercise at the reserve, so she really was just enjoying the heat after being in a pokeball for most of the day. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ novęlfire.net

“Rio! Lulu.” Riolu agreed, wagging her brush at Blissey.

Oh well. Nothing one could do in the face of Divine mandates.

I finished scrubbing down, and then realized if Blissey was here, I might as well add some company.

Leaning back I reached for my Pokebelt, and poked a pokeball.

“Hey. There is a-No not outside.” I yelped nearly falling backwards as I rushed to pick up Gible as she was well on her way to waddling outside.

She had discovered, outside, had water.

I feared for any door leading outside now.

“Here, we have some water inside that isn’t freezing Gible Gable.” I assured her, carrying her over to the seat and taking a spot, and starting to scrub her down. We had some pokemon safe soap, but that was more for fur, and my bag was out in the living room, otherwise I’d get the scale cleaner, but just a scrub would be enough.

Gible seemed willing to let me work, as I splashed her with water, and rubbed her down, but she wasn’t really enjoying it I think… Maybe.

It was really hard to tell with her! Her mouth half open, and nothing going on behind those eyes.

But once I was satisfied, I lifted her up, and showed her the Furo, which was getting a bit tight with Riolu having already hopped in, and Blissey taking up a lot of space. I lifted Gible up on the edge.

“See Gible. This is warm water, which is nice when its cold outside. Isn’t that much better than the river?” I asked, as I splashed my hand a bit and Gible instantly rocked forward, slipping out of my one handed grip, and just cannonballing right in.

She went under for a moment, before rising up floating a bit wildly for a second before her feet caught the water and she seemed to gain control…

“Rio. Riolu lu.” The Brat grumbled, as Gible nearly swam into her, reaching out and shifting the shark to the small part of the bath still open.

I watched on for a moment, just enjoying how much Gible was enjoying the water, but I needed to get in too. Slipping in meant there was no longer any room in the bath, and I lifted up Gible to settle her mostly in my lap as I wiggled into my spot.

“Not the most comfortable soak I’ve ever had.” I admitted. And Blissey tittered, and Riolu huffed, glaring at me, was my fault.

“It’s not my fault… Okay I mean you’re all my pokemon, so you being here is my fault, but-”

“That doesn’t count!” I argued back as Riolu pointed at me.

Then we all heard it.

“Oh no. No! No! Bad Dog!” I yelled as the door was opened by squirming puppies that were too smart for their own good, and a horde of Growlithe charged in. If we didn’t put the cover on the Furo I don’t know if the pups would ever get out of -

“No!” I demanded, but a moment later I was knocked back by a fur missile, and then the bath got even tighter, as Dogs wiggled and stepped and squirmed in to try and get in the water.

Blissey was grumbling a bit, Riolu was about to throw hands, but Gible was the one that reacted first.

“No, no no! No bite!” I called out, trying to pry Gible's mouth off the butt of a Growlithe that had been sitting on her!

I was laughing pretty hard though.
