Players, Please Board the Train Chapter 100

Xu Huo separated from the others as Gu Yu and the Shen siblings, Shen Yi and Shen Xin, rushed toward Wu Qiuyi's side.

At the same time, Lin Pei and Ke Liang, who had split off from them, appeared on either side of Wu Qiuyi. The six of them began to flank the Mutant from both sides.

In terms of speed, they were far slower than the Mutant, so when the Mutant arrived at the target location from several blocks away, they had just reached the small buildings on either side.

This Mutant, less than 1.6 meters tall, was first injured on the face and chest, then it smashed through a small building, but its running speed did not slow at all. It seemed smarter than other Mutants; although it was attracted by the bell's ringing, it didn't directly approach the sound. Instead, from over ten meters away, it used its running momentum to casually pull out a nearby trash bin and threw it forward!

The bell string and the curtain fabric were swept away, flying off wildly. The dolls lined up along the street screamed one after another, their piercing cries providing Wu Qiuyi and the others an opportunity!

Shen Yi and Ke Liang grabbed oil buckets and poured the contents downstairs. The Mutant, which was pricking up its ears to locate the dolls, got drenched directly!

Everyone cheered, and Lin Pei immediately threw a lit lighter. As the flames caught, the Mutant burst into a blazing fire!

“It worked!” Lin Pei exclaimed excitedly.

The Mutant, engulfed in flames, writhed in pain on the ground, occasionally tilting its head to emit sharp, high-pitched screams. Taking advantage of the moment, Gu Yu fired two shots at its legs. Two bursts of blood mist exploded, and the Mutant screamed again before diving into a nearby building!

“Don’t go in!” Lin Pei shouted from upstairs, but it was too late. Ke Liang, who had gone in first, rushed out carrying a solid wood cabinet. He collided directly with Shen Yi, who had followed moments later. The two of them tumbled onto the opposite street. Before they could get up, the Mutant crashed down on the cabinet pinning them!

The Mutant that reappeared had its flames extinguished. Gu Yu fired two more shots from upstairs, but unexpectedly, the Mutant turned back and caught both bullets with its hand!

The Rainbow Gun's bullets were not unlimited. Gu Yu had used the most powerful white bullet to seal the Pit Cage, so the two shots just fired were green bullets. These could corrode softer materials like paper and cloth and were harmful to humans as well, but the Mutant caught the bullets and let them melt away without any reaction to the corrosive pain in its palm.

Not only that, it seemed to have pinpointed Gu Yu’s position. It grabbed the wood cabinet and hurled both Ke Liang and Shen Yi away, then spun on the spot and threw the cabinet toward Gu Yu!

The wood cabinet exploded with force comparable to a cannonball at Gu Yu's hiding spot. Flying wood splinters were like a second wave of attack. Even though Gu Yu and Shen Xin retreated in time, both were scratched and bleeding, especially Gu Yu, who had wood splinters embedded in her face and arms.

“I earn my living with my face!” Gu Yu roared furiously, rushing back to the rooftop edge and unleashing a relentless barrage on the Mutant!

This was exactly the scenario she wanted: using the height advantage to pin the Mutant on the ground. In reality, she only fired two shots before the Mutant leapt out from the rooftop edge, its five fingers slashing toward her wrist!

“Crack!” The prop gun broke on impact.

Gu Yu held the broken half of the gun in shock. If she hadn’t pulled back quickly enough, that blow would have severed her arm!

“Whoosh!” A large net was thrown down from the opposite building, catching the Mutant and dragging it down.

“What are you standing there for?!” Lin Pei shouted angrily. “Get moving!”

Gu Yu turned and fled immediately, but from the corner of her eye, she saw the Mutant tearing open the net while suspended in midair. Before she left the building, the Mutant had already escaped and grabbed the net rope, rapidly climbing upward!

Lin Pei, shocked, quickly threw a prop, but the Mutant had already caught the rooftop edge. It swung the net rope, flipping him onto the ground, then jumped down the building, dragging Lin Pei toward the ground!

“Catch it!” Shen Yi yelled from nearby. Lin Pei looked up at the sky, and suddenly a spring rope shot out. He hurriedly grabbed it, and the other end was held by Ke Liang, who shot out over ten meters and tightened the rope in one go!

Lin Pei was suspended at the height of the second floor. His feet dangled from the net rope, hands gripping the spring rope. He hung diagonally in the air, still in a dangerous situation.

At that moment, the Mutant suddenly released its grip, and Lin Pei uncontrollably shot toward the rooftop. He hit the wall and rolled down, landing exactly where Shen Yi and Ke Liang had collided in chaos. One foot was pierced by a metal strip!

The sharp object went through his foot, pinning Lin Pei in place. He swallowed the pain forcefully and looked back at the Mutant, only to see it had been knocked flying. Shen Xin stood there, signaling him to stay quiet.

“Chirp—!” A loud, piercing cry sounded, like that of a bird.

The Mutant that had just crawled out of the ruins was immediately drawn to the sound. It turned toward the source and ran away without looking back.

“What’s going on over there?” Lin Pei pulled out the metal strip from his foot.

“It’s Wu Qiuyi. She said she wants to lure the Mutant toward the main street,” Shen Xin quickly replied, then said, “I’ll go help!”

The others arrived one after another. Ke Liang paused as he passed by. “Can you still walk?”

“You go ahead, I’ll be there soon,” Lin Pei replied. Once his figure disappeared, he turned in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, Wu Qiuyi was desperately fleeing for her life. She sprinted down the street, imitating bird calls whenever the Mutant tried to break free. The Mutant seemed especially sensitive to this sound. Although it was attacked multiple times and tried to switch targets, it would immediately turn around and chase after her once it heard the calls.

She used this tactic, combined with Gu Yu and the others delaying the Mutant’s pace, to dangerously lead it onto the main street.

The obstacles on the main street had already been cleared. Xu Huo stood in the center, holding a bright red sword. Seeing Wu Qiuyi repeatedly and fearlessly draw the Mutant back to the center of the street, he shouted, “Clear the way!”

Wu Qiuyi wanted to step aside, but the Mutant’s speed was too fast. She had no chance to escape; simply not getting caught and killed drained all her strength!

As the Mutant closed in on Xu Huo, she made a sudden decision. “Attack! Cut me down together with it!”

“What nonsense are you talking about!” Gu Yu’s angry voice echoed from the rooftop. “Shen Yi, pull her up!”

Her voice momentarily drowned out the other noises. The Mutant chasing Wu Qiuyi turned its head.

“Chirp!” Wu Qiuyi caught the spring rope Shen Yi tossed her while drawing the Mutant’s attention back.

“You go first!” Xu Huo stepped back onto a pile of dolls. Dozens of them screamed simultaneously.

The distance between the two sides kept closing. Wu Qiuyi planned to retreat once she thought the timing was right, but suddenly a beast-like roar burst from the town, accompanied by loud crashing sounds.

It was the Mutants inside the Pit Cage!

The fighting outside had still disturbed them.

“No worries, they won’t get out anytime soon!” Xu Huo was about to finish speaking when a small Mutant suddenly let out an angry roar and slammed hard into the street with an emergency stop!
